Angry Birds on Facebook Out Now!

The title says it all, Angry Birds is now available to play on Facebook and includes an exclusive episode titled, “Surf and Turf”! You can play right now by heading to, apps.facebook.com/angrybirds (you obviously need to be logged into your Facebook account to play). In addition to one-of-a-kind features like Power-Ups, Angry Birds Facebook really taps into Facebook’s social graph.

We will do our best to break down everything you need to know; so without further ado, here’s our list of the things you need to know:

• The beta launch includes three episodes:
• • 63 levels of Poached Eggs
  • 15 levels in Surf and Turf (walkthroughs are live!)
  • 42 levels in Mighty Hoax
• During the launch there are, “Daily Rewards” available. It seems that your rewards is chosen at random. My reward today was six free uses of the Mighty Eagle, but @alaskari reward was King Sling. It looks as if there will rewards for the next five days, so be sure to check back each day. It’s unclear if the rewards will continue past five days.
• Each of the Power-Ups come pre-loaded with five uses each. Fourteen bonus Power-Ups are available by clicking the big red heart that says, “Click Here for Your Valentine’s Gift!”? If you’re unfamiliar with the Power-Ups, we’ve broken down each Power-Up in some detail here.
• As expected, Angry Birds Facebook taps into your social graph. For example, once you pass a level you can post you score (or Total Destruction) to your Facebook wall. Now don’t go gloating too much! In addition, invite friends to play and gift Power-Ups to them. When you receive a gift it will show up in your “Inbox” (icon is on the bottom right hand side).
• Unlike most other versions, Angry Birds on Facebook runs in Flash, so in order to play you may need to update your Adobe Flash player (if you do you will likely be prompted).
• The controls seem very similar to Angry Birds Chrome (not all, but most), so you might want to check out that guide if you’re new to this.

Things we’d like to see or are still unclear on

• Are there Golden Eggs? Doesn’t look like it, at least not yet.
• How do you earn extra Power-Ups?
• I personally think you should be able to collapse (close) the right hand side menu.
• You should only lose a Mighty Eagle use if you achieve Total Destruction.
• If a Power-Up is used it should be reflected on the leaderboard and the level selection screen. This would help make things fair and increase competition.

Understanding the Angry Birds Facebook Shop

Power-Ups are limited use, so once you run out you have to buy more or beg a friend to gift some to you. To access the shop click on the icon in the bottom right hand side of your screen. The Angry Birds Facebook Shop uses Facebook credits, which can be purchased using a major credit card or Paypal. The cost of items is as follows:
