Angry Birds Epic Wizpig’s Castle Walkthrough

Below is our gameplay walkthrough that will help you beat Angry Birds Epic Wizpig’s Castle. This is the shortest castle with only two waves, but easily the most challenging. Our strategy is as follows. Do not worry at all about the zombies in the first wave, but simply knock out Wizpig as quickly as possible. We use Paladin Red, thorny Matilda, and disguised Blues.

The final round adds Prince Porky to the allies! Keep him safe, since Demonic Wizpig can only be knocked out using Porky for the final blow. The summoned Kobolds do not need to be knocked out to defeat the level.

Completing this level retrieves the 5th stolen Egg! It also unlocks Chronicle Caves, which features some of the most challenging levels in the game.

If you have a different strategy for completing this level feel free to leave a comment below. Be sure to check out the rest of our Angry Birds Epic walkthroughs here as well as join the conversation in the Epic Forum.

One important comment about the last battle: Once 4 Kobolds are summoned, Wizpig uses them to heal completely. So it is wise to knock them out and use the prince’s ability to remove them from the battlefield. Of course, this is needed if you are not as powerful as the birds in the video (I wasn’t)

Also stack up on healing potions.

By Mr.Pham

I’m not sure whether I’m unlucky or there is a bug with my game. The boss does not wait until 4 Kobolds are summoned. He keeps summoning 2 Kobolds AND consumes them in THE SAME turn (i.e. impossible to stop him form healing 2k4 hp). The best I can do is 3000+ between aoe damage, that means I have to tank through 9 aoe attacks before he’s down. I gave up after 5 , this annoying “bug” is just impossible.

Use Veteran/Elite Samurai. I used Elite…..

By Rarst

First stage pretty much impossible without paladin, have to be lucky even with (I gave up trying everything else and spent saved up gold coins).

I am not sure what’s going on, but wizpig tends to do double damage (his description says 41 to each bird, he routinely does ~80 to each bird). Also doubles damage of zombie pig when makes it attack with his ability (~180 hits, ouch!). There is nothing in abilities description that says it should happen, unless I am missing something…

At second stage (if lucky enough to get there, which doesn’t happen often) simply can’t deal enough damage in time, as video shows. Then ~500 damage to each bird and it’s over.

I don’t see a way to pass this, short of outright drowning birds in potions, which i hadn’t tried yet. Overall this level’s balance seems just messed up.

By shawn

Aha I struggled to wave two to be wiped in 1 move of wizpig for 650 dmg to all my birds and porky completely wrecking my team. Lol.

By Kieriana

Hi Rarst,

This worked for me on Wave 2:
Red as Samurai has the “Defensive Formation” ability which reduces the amount of damage everyone receives from the Red Wizpig. Since one swipe from Red Wizpig wipes out Prince Porky, this bought me another round of fighting.

Between constantly replenishing the Rage Chili, so that Red could Heroic Strike each round, and Defensive Formation — I squeaked by.

My other characters were Matilda (white) as Druid; and Blues as Trickster [his ability to remove harmful effects was crucial in Wave 1].

Good Luck!

I can follow as the video did but yeah, just didn’t have enough damage output, the last one I lost attack increase from both Blues and Prince Porky which made me so close to kill him.
I think just stock up lots of veggie cakes in second stage will make it.
And yeah, I don’t like this level scheme, uninterestingly, just focus on damage output and not in tactic.

By Rarst

I rolled up a slightly better weapon with 5% stun for white bird and repeated level until I got a stun hit (and so extra turn) to finish wave 2. Boring.

Endgame is rather disappointing between this meh level and cave levels after it requiring stupid bird “borrowing”.

By Katie

Actually, a Veteran Samurai works fine to get past the first level. Just ignore the zombies, and keep the Tricksters (again, the Veteran upgrade really helps, since it gives them much-needed bulk) dispelling the zombie effects. Make sure at least TWO birds have weapons that produce sleep effects, though. (For instance, my Samurai, like the Paladin in the vid, wielded the Soft Hammer to get through it. 5% chance to stun is not bad at all. For the Druid, try either a three star Twig Harp. Attacking with the two, and you will have a total of 10% chance to stun the bugger. If you have any weapon of equal or higher power with a better chance than 5%, USE IT.) Keep the magician out, keep the Druid’s vines on him as much as possible and just keep ramming him. Use the Druid bird to restore HP. If necessary, just go slow and keep restoring using whatever restorative beverage you have. In preparation for the next level, you might want to have the Trickster use Cheer and the Druid heal the team once the WizPig’s HP hits around 90-100, and use the Samurai to take him out.
It may take a couple of tries, but it goes fast.
For the second level, you should have the Tricksters’ Cheer still on, and Prince Piggy does not need it, so skip any further upgrades. Try to stun the guy–if you have a full Rage Chili, give it to the Trickster on the first turn, because this will give you a 100% chance to stun the Demon. Keep the guy stunned as much as possible, and whittle down his points. Refill the rage chili if necessary. Keep healing the Prince, you do NOT want to lose him!
Any other advice… You might want to do a couple of runthroughs of the lower levels before this. Maybe aim to threestar them all, as extra incentive. Use the extra Snoutlings to upgrade your three birds–I had the Samurai and Tricksters at Veteran level, but got my Druid up to Elite. It really helped, especially by giving her extra attack power and HP. You can never have too much bulk for this level!
In sum, make sure you have a good level on your birds, keep keep a good stock of healing potions and Rage Chili refills, and have equipment to stun the pigs, ignore the zombies and ghosts, and keep the Wiz stunned. Keep calm, be patient, and maybe reserve about fifteen minutes with no distractions to get past this guy. Good luck!

On another note, has anyone tried Mighty Eagle’s Favorite Dish on Demon Wizpig?

By Zumo

Just tried Mighty Eagle’s Favorite Dish on him (in the second stage), he got killed instantly. Good tip :)

By Pedro

I finally beated demonic wizpig!!! And I didnt need Red Paladine. My strategy was:

– Chuck (Wizard) and I had to make it Veteran in the mighty eagle’s dojo (spent 500 snoultings) + Set item as a shield.
– Matilda (Thorny) + Set item as a shield
– Blues (Disguised) I had to make it veteran too. + Set item as a shield.

With two of them with 20% more healt and attack I defeated wizpig and demonic wizpig (used like 3 times the chilli on Chuck)

Its seems like a miracle but I finally did it!

Enemies get stronger as you level up.

By AlexeiD

I’ve used Samurai Red, Thorny Matilda (veteran), and Disguised Blues (veteran). Weapons and armors were 1-2 stars and golden pig gifts.
The tactics is straightforward, but you might need to reload a couple of times or use a potion or two.

Phase 1 is identical to the video. Let Matilda heal, Blues dispel and rarely attack, Red attack. Focus on Wizpig. Spend chili on Matilda to heal and dispel, attack with Blues that turn. You can outheal most of the damage, but if you’re unlucky, pigs will attack one bird subsequently. I had to use one +120hp potion on Red. After Wizpig’s down, it’s easy to heal to full and to finish off ghost pigs.
Phase 2 actually does not pose much threat, if you play it safe. Don’t use Porky’s passive ability, otherwise Wizpig’s AOE will be hard to heal. Unleash your birds on wizpig, but when first minions arrive, use weaker birds to attack them once, I used Porky on one, and Red on another. Do not spend your chili! Before AOE use Red’s shield of course, probably best on Porky for most migitation. Once other two minions arrive, use Blues and Red to attack them, then use chili on Porky. The minions will disappear, and Wizpig will waste his turn with zero healing. Use Matilda to heal everyone. Then repeat – damage all minions before Wizpig’s heal cast, vaporize them with Porky, heal everything with Matilda, and finish Wizpig.

Spending a bit more time to upgrade helps a lot. Since you can get over 2000 coins/h it’s not a pain to upgrade to Elite. Tricksters’ low health and Samurai’s tank role means that they shall be upgraded first.

Level 16
Red Samurai (veteran), Matilda Druid (veteran), Blue Trickster (veteran)

I might be mistaken, but I think this level is bugged for me. Every time I reach the demonic Wiz Pig, he advances really close to my birds-so close, in fact, that he completely covers up the bird on the far left corner (or the top, if you prefer.), thus bringing the level to an abrupt end. Has anyone experienced this before and/or know how to deal with it?

First time I played, got to second wave and bugged out. Only had Matilda and Red on screen left for regular players and Porky with weird non-attack thing. Only time I made it to the second round with all three players, of course. Still working.

I think Red Paladin, Matilda Druid, and Blues Tricksters. My problem is I am still stuck on wave one because of the lefty. That guy is hard.

Hello, today I defeated demonic wizpig!!! My strategy was- use blues as tricksters, Matilda as Druid and red as paladin (just like the video). Finish the first wave by removing harmful effects from birds by blues and keep healing by Matilda and red. In the second wave, when prince porky joins the birds, immediately use tit for tat and fill the range chilli by attacking. Give range chilli to red. Red will deal 800+ damage. Keep repeating. Then in last use prince porky to defeat wizpig fully.

Finally got it (3* no less) with Level 17 Vet Paladin, Vet Druid, and tricksters. Used several snow apple potions and hot veggie cakes. Important to keep using blues’ cheer in first round to keep birds healthy, also need to use potion to keep blues’ health up since Wizpig will get several more rounds than in video. Second round need at least 2 chilli’s or you will never get rid of Wizpig before he takes out the prince.
Paladin had a Dragonscale, which is a set item (a great piece of luck), and a blunt sword, cause I don’t have a strong weapon that will stun. Health = 912, damage = 206
Vet Druid had health of 613
Tricksters had health = 401
Wizpig health = 4388
Demonic wizpig = 5840

Used same birds as vid, level 18, Vet Paladium with aromatic hammer (5% stun) & flying banner health 862, Vet Matilda with honey spoon set (23% 50% more damage) from level 17 health 596, and Vet Blue trickster, shady sling (despell) and twin horn health 488. Used 5 pies and 3 seaberries. Goin into C Cave… :)

By Chaddictive

I have done it with Paladin Red (20% upgrade), disguised Blues and the yellow Bird with this thunder hat (not mathilda). The advantage is, I use yellow to have red attacking twice, which gives two times health to birds (because of blues 15%% and later with prince porky 30% more attack and health) and still attacking with red much more.

and latest with a full chilly a used yellow for 5 attacks. No chance for wizzard.

You need to use the Tricksters Blues to disable Wizpigs ability.

By kaddeddo

Party lv 16:
Red: Samurai (veteran)
you need the shield on 2nd wave in order to survive to the 520 full party damage

white: Bard (veteran)
you may try with the druid, but her 15% stun + 5% stun of the Harp is very usefull

Blue: Trickster (veteran)
you need the ability to remove harmful effects to all party on first wave

Potions:
I used two single healings, one full party healing and one Rage Chili refills

Alfer several tries at level 15 (imposible to pass)I:
– improved my equipment
– improved to veteran to all party
– level till 16
And with this party I have pass the stage at the first try.
I was surprised it looked easy.

Key points 2nd wave:

– use the chilli on trickers to stun him on the first round
– use the samurai shield before the badguy explosion
– use the chilli on porcprince just after the first explosion to kill all sumoned gosts. Take in count to hurt all gosht before the explosion, in order to kill them with the explison.

By Mattias

The first phase is easy for me, but as i enter the second phase demonic wizpig start with 1 counter in his charge ability. I can survive this and heal up, but the turn after his charge ability he summons 2 kobolds and instantly kills them for a massive heal making it impossible to outdamage his heals. I have tried to stun him in order to delay his heal and kill the kobolds, but he always summon kobold the next turn and heals up.

By kaddeddo

Mattias, to avoid the demon healing use the porcprince rage hability (explosion that damages all enemies and removes fromm the game the kobolds), but be carefull you have to hurt them enougth before using the chilli(the same turn that he summon them) is order to kill them with the explosion.

By Haske

I used samurai, druid and tricksters level 17.

No veteran

and no potions

If you are level 16 use veteran samurai, if you are level 17 you dont have to have veteran samurai.

If you have paladin.. i think its better.. but i never tried it…

By Tiago

I JUST DID!
Samurai Red + thorny Matilda + disguised Blues (all veteran)
Some potions and cakes were also necessary.
On final wave, is important to use cakes, then u can give the chilli to blues so he can stun the big pig while he is charging for his strong attack and to the price pig to destroy all ghosts before Wizpig consumes them. Make sure all ghosts are less than 325HP, so they die and disappear, otherwize Wizpig will still use them after your attack!

By tloc

I used exactly what is used to the video. Except I have silver medal helm on red and bronze on Matilda and the blues. I make it fine to last fight but when it starts “Pigtan” aka demonic wizpg… takes 2 turns before Its my turn or can follow your vid. Was the same way when I only had just bronze on red and Matilda. So your video doesn’t work anymore. I still get one shotted on his turn after my first turn.

By Pete

Finally managed to get through this. The Demonic Wizpic was one annoying character :) At least on level 18 he could re-generate his energy to full when the 4 “minions” were on the battlefield but still re-generating. Obviously this makes the whole thing challenging as hell.

Configuration was:
Veteran Samurai using Defensive Formation and Heroic Strike. Jabbing Lance as attack weapon and Flying Banner for defense.

Veteran Druid using Thorny Vine and Mathilda’s Medicine. Nautical Comb as attack weapon and Noble Puppet for defense.

Veteran Tricksters using Itching Powder and Cheer (to counteract the healing effect). The Sling as attack weapon and Remote Control for defense.

Had to use quite a lot of healing potions and Rage Chili refills but didn’t use money for anything. The Poseidon Pig is another matter entirely, seems indefefeatable at the moment for me :)

I hope this helps someone.
I had this problem that Demon Wizpig in the second wave consumed the spirit pigs as soon as they entered. Or in other words, the spirit pigs entered when Wizpig’s turn had not yet been completed. So the game didn’t even give me a chance to kill the spirit pigs and prevent Wizpig from healing himself.

I fixed this is bug by waiting for a chance to fill up my chilli and used it on Blues instead. This stunned Wizpig for a turn and everything was in sync as it was supposed to be.

Rank: Hardened with 585 points

Thank you very much. I was having this problem too. I will try this and see how it goes.

Rank: Hardened with 585 points
By RPBThree (@rpbthree)

Excellent! This was a great tip. I finally beat him!

However, because I had a stun weapon on red samuri, I ended up stunning demonic wizpig enough times to go back into the ‘bugged’ sync of when ghost pigs come out and wizpig healing. I had to use hot veggie cakes to fill rage chili, stun with blues special, wait for new set of ghost pigs, hot veggie cake again, and kill off ghost pigs before he healed and ultimately be back on the good sync.

This fight is basically all about the timing of ghosts coming out with his healing and controlling that.

Rank: Deputized with 160 points

I have a strange problem because Wizpig Demon attack first so it’s really hard to beat him up. When the movie ends Wizpig make first move and start charging his attack and after that is my turn. So im supprised because on this video birds have two turns before Wizpig start charging his attack. So I have no idea whats wrong is? Any suggestions?
