As part of a new joint promotion between Rovio and Coca-Cola we are pleased to announce a brand new web-based mini game called Angry Birds Coca-Cola China Beats. You can play this on any modern computer by going to coca-cola.angrybirds.com. You need to register before you can sign in, and this is understandably difficult if you have not yet learned Chinese. Luckily, thanks to some help @PJng, we have deciphered the boxes and can help you out.
A quick rundown of what is included in this mini game.
- Five levels unlocked by default. Our walkthrough videos are now online!
- Two levels unlocked by obtaining 15 and 40 drums within those first five levels. (More explained below.)
- Three golden levels. These will be unlocked worldwide when the total “drum” counter in the top right corner reaches 10 million! Hopefully the announcement here on ABN will cause those numbers to climb quicker. (Special thanks to @hoo for translating for us!)
- Drums: In each level, there are four drums of difference sizes. Some seems to have a few different “spawn” points, others seem fixed. These drums are worth 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 points from smallest to largest. Not only do they have your score, but obtaining them will unlock levels 6 and 7. Note that you must pass the level for your drums to count.
- A promotional video (with English subtitles) for Team China! (Am I the only one who thinks it is odd that the Finnish Angry Birds are on Team China? I may need to see birth certificates to justify this!) This is the top button on the “Play” screen.
- Yet another portal to play Poached Eggs. It appears to be the same style as on Chrome and several other web-based games.
There is also a worldwide scoreboard on the right hand side of the screen. This is part of a contest that seems to run for six weeks. Week 1 ended on June 5th, Week 2 ends on June 12th, etc. until the whole contest ends on July 10th. Prizes seem to be an Angry Birds plush and a Coca-Cola gift. You must be 16 years of age to participate.
If you are interesting in getting started, please check out the screenshots we have below. The first few will help you register and sign in, and the others will show you what you are getting into! Enjoy!
this… looks awesome!
the levels are quite easy!
i know!
I swear, I am always the opposite of most who play. When people post an update was hard, I found it to be super easy.
For me, this game was one of the hardest ever. Especially level 2. Three stars is hard enough, but adding the 4 drums was a real challenge.
But then again, I have a hard time with the Web apps, especially with the blue and white birds, as I tend to move my mouse outside the playing field after I launch them, so they never trigger their power when I want them to.
Very cool levels! I love Angry Birds and Coca Cola! The perfect combination! :)
another perfect combination is angry birds and pizza!
And what about Angry Birds,Coca Cola and Pizza
Can anyone provide a proper translation for what appears in either the red or gold boxes in the image below?
you need to collect 10,000,000 points and/or all the boxes to unlock those levels
That doesn’t really makes sense. There’s only 7 levels. How could you ever surpass 10M points?
And what do you mean “all the boxes”? I’ve passed the initial 7 levels.
maybe that includes the “pouched eggs” levels
Poached Eggs only adds around 4M
..then i dont know
maybe it’s the sum of scores every time you play and complete a level
If you go to the top right chinese text button, you can see the score leaderboards for each level but there are no scores posted for 8&9&10. Maybe those levels are the locked ones and they become available once the drum meter at the right hits 10.000.000. Just a wild guess.
HELLO,Im from CHINA.
IT means that we should collect 1000,0000 dums to unlock the last 3 levels.
It is we,all in all,not just you.
By the way,Ive followed http://www.angrybirdsnest.com with interested for long time, and as a CHINESE,Im so upset that we can play no web angrybirds games except this COCA COLA…
and i have to use FREEGATE to login even this web~ SO, the GOOGLE+ ANGRYBIRDS I still need 40 FRIENDS to unlock some levels ,can u help me?
PS,is http://vuelatazos.angrybirds.com/ closed?
You can’t login to any other games from China, because by default all of the AB web games are hosted on Google AppEngine. Google’s services are mostly blocked in China. You could try using a proxy, see if that works. Some games, like Coca-Cola China Beats, have specific exceptions but these also require some effort on our end to change how the hosting works.
But yeah, to clarify once and for all, you need to collect 15 beats personally to unlock level 6, and 40 beats for level 7. When the community – all players of this game together – exceed 10 million beats, levels 8-10 will be unlocked.
And finally, yes, Angry Birds Vuela Tazos is now offline. The deal with that company has ended and the game will no longer be available. However, there will be something exciting to replace it coming VERY SOON now: http://heikki.angrybirds.com/
opening date got changed to 25 of june. its alright. I think everyone can wait an extra 7 days
Once you see the game, you’ll understand the reason…
Translated. The message says: “Thanks for visiting vuelatazos angry birds! the promotion is over.” So yes its over
Oh no. I have not 3 starred the last 3 levels yet. So what can I do now?
Yeah, that’s disappointing as all the other apps remained up to play. I never got to unlock the last levels as they never opened them up. :(
I’m having a friend take a look at this slim.
I’m guessing it means that it will unlock once the world total drums collected reaches 10M. The counter in the top-right shows the number of drums collected in total so far.
That’s what I’m thinking, based on some of the recent comments.
That is correct, last 3 level will unlock once total of drum collected 10M.
I’m Chinese guy.
The drum meter went up around 45k in the last 24 hours. If it will continue like that, it means there is a loooong way before the unlocked levels become available.
Seems like Rovio is playing both sides of the fence. Pepsi in Mexico and Coke in China.. Maybe they can bring peace to the Cola Wars that have been ongoing since the 80’s..
BTW – regarding this:
“which we assume is called Angry Birds Coca-Cola.”
I checked Google and the same Chinese characters are used in regular Coke ads, so it does say “Coca-Cola” or the closest translation.
Easier still, check the “i” info. ;)
At work still. I can check Google, but can’t go to the game till I get home ;)
I noticed the title changed to “Angry Birds Coca-Cola China Beats.” Assuming this was confirmed by Rovio? I can’t read Chinese, but the logo is the same as Chinese Coke ads, so it looks to be just AB Coca-Cola.
Just curious when the “China beats” was added/confirmed, etc.
Rovio may claim differently, but I think they web based games are really taking a front seat compared to the mobile apps. That may be why S&T for mobile has not seen an update for so long, as well as Seasons and Rio…and the “mini updates) of FMTTM and Utopia.
@slimfordy – is there a spot on the site that lists all the web games?
this lists them all
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/category/walkthroughs/angry-birds-web/
That’s what I was looking for – TY
when will you do walkthroughs for this?
We say in the post. Please be patient.
oh, missed that, sorry
You may very well be right, @playdbird. On the other hand, I think there has been a noticeable change in the complexity of the levels being released for the mobile apps. Space is obviously in a new league in terms of complexity (plus it’s really aesthetically stunining), but I think this is true of updates for the other apps, too. Compare recent updates with some of the original levels–there,s a huge change,
My guess is that these levels probably take much more time to design and program than the earlier levels (although I’m personally impressed with anyone with programming skills).
But, yes, there is no doubt that with every new venture, Rovio runs the risk of being spread too thin. For my part, I have not yet played any of the web based games. I spend too much of my day in front of a computer for work purposes, and it’s always been hard for me to turn to the computer for relaxation.
Hi @doctonynyc. I just mentioned somewhere else that I think moving the game into new environments (space, undersea) is Rovio’s way of keeping the franchise fresh, maintaining interest and of course selling new games. Space really invigorated the game, and I’m betting that Rovio is thinking that underwater play will too.
Can you imagine the finger confusion we’ll all experience going from the physics of Space, to air, and then undersea? It’ll be interesting.
@playbird You have made outstanding points in your posts. It may also aid Rovio to obtain corporate sponsorship for new developments. Costs maybe less and web based games may provide a great distribution network for the product sponsored games. It would be interesting to view an analysis of the two. Just business speculation of strategy vs cost based analysis.
@wrw01 – The business person in me sees that Rovio needs revenue, and the corporate web games definitely should provide that (as well as increased brand awareness). Since their stated goal is to be bigger than Disney, they have to get their name and products out to as many people as possible.
As a (mainly) mobile player, I hope that they do not neglect to keep up the mobile games. Unfortunately, once we give them our $0.99 they don’t get much more out of us, so I can see why they are not in any hurry to keep the mobile games fresh. I’m sure that the sales curve of mobile AB apps have slowed – most people have them already.
Bigger than Disney, huh? I haven’t read that anywhere, but if true, it certainly is a lofty goal. Not only that, Disney represents a dynamic laboratory for Rovio’s future expansion as an entertainment entity, as the Disney company has lived and learned through many a corporate pitfall during its decades of existence.
Hopefully, Rovio can as well. I know I’m certainly not done flinging, and I have no idea whatsoever of what the future might bring.
@truckdriver
Yes, the boss was widely quoted saying that a few months ago.
http://articles.businessinsider.com/2012-03-21/tech/31219013_1_zynga-first-brands-skype
OK. Two things are certain. The first being that I may have to have a chat with my broker. Rovio stock may be worth taking a flyer for a couple g’s.
The other is that I simply MUST get my hands on one of those hoodies that are pictured within the article you cite! :-)
um, your broker will tell you that Rovio isn’t a publicly-traded stock. IPO won’t come until next year at the very earliest.
I need help with the registration what are you supposed to put in the last blank in the regestration form please respond
https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/angry-birds-coca-cola-web-based-mini-game/angry-birds-coca-cola-registration-screen/
hope that helps
The chinese text message says you need to hit 10mil drums to unlock the 3 golden levels.
You’ll notice the score on top right indicates the drums point you have collected so far. You can repeat each level just to collect drums point (of course you still need to kill all pigs).
ohhh,,, thanks, i was close
Every week the contest starts Wed 00:00 & ended Tue 24:00. Then there will be a lucky draw from the top 50 scores to win the Coca-cola souvenirs & a Angry Birds plush. The result will be published in iCoke.cn. To be fair to others, they have set the rules of one time winner only, nobody can win consecutively even though he is top scorer.
I guess it is total number of drums collected by all players playing. You can see the number increase even if you don’t play.
Yeah, that’s the target to reach 10mil hits worldwide.
Thanks for the translation hoo.
This is fascinating. If the funds raised are for the China Team then Rovio and Coca-Cola are either major sponsors for them or China has significant shares in both companies. May be a little from column A and little from column B. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe business arrangements in China at present are unique. It is still a communist country but it is allowing a certain amount of private enterprise. Coco-Cola has had a foothold in China for a while now and I suspect most of the Rovio merchandise is made in China. (Once again, please correct me if I’m wrong.) If all of this is correct, then what a clever marketing ploy this game is. Having to accumulate points by repeat visits to the site ensures you are constantly seeing the advertising.
Please note this is an observation, not a criticism of the game. Personally I think there are some very clever people out there and maybe @truckdriver has the right idea re buying Rovio shares. Is that possible? Do they have shares?
They are not public yet but have talked about doing so soon
Here’s an article – sounds like they are thinking about an IPO in early 2013
http://www.dailytech.com/Angry+Birds+Creator+Rovio+Preparing+for+2013+IPO/article24625.htm
Hmm, thanks for the link Dr. Omega. I wonder how many members here at ABN would buy shares if Rovio went public. Would you @birdleader?
The problem with IPO’s is that the individual investor usually has trouble getting in early when the stock is still priced at the low end. This is due mainly to institutional investors getting preferential opportunity to purchase the share. By the time the buying frenzy has died down enough to give the small investor a chance, the price has been run up as the big guys have gotten in and made their profits.
But we’ll see. The article mentions that they don’t even know which exchange will handle the IPO. I’d bet that after the Facebook IPO debacle, New York might just be playing second fiddle.
With the Chinese theme park deal, Sakura Ninja, Cherry Blossom, Year of the Dragon, AB Coca-Cola, using Jakarta as the launch site for AB Facebook (Friends), I would say it’s probably a safe bet they are focusing more efforts in Asia than North America.
@chicadee, unfortunately, this is not something I can comment on.
Angry Birds Coca-Cola? In Chinese? I should call a nearby Chinese guy to decipher this.
awesome looking forward to playing those levels :)
Rovio has time to make web based games but don’t have time for AB or ABR updates?!
Says who? We don’t know what they are working on, so it is entirely possible they are working on several updates at once. Piglantis is coming soon and that is for AB Seasons. Last I read, their staff has increased to a few hundred people and they were moving offices to accommodate, so I’m sure they have several projects running simultaneously now, like the TV show, Amazing Alex, Piglantis, AB Space, etc.
Yay! My two favourite things combined; Angry Birds and Coca-Cola! :D
@AMSlimFordy — Why did you delete my comment saying that antaxi was the first to post about this game?
P.S. There is a recent post from Flassari saying that it is unlikely to be released in English : (
There was no new information in your post and it was very lengthy.
New update for Angry Birds Space: Ten tasty new levels for Utopia! :D
No new levels.
Yeah that’s pretty strange as in the update log said new levels. Maybe Rovio’s mistake?
No it did not say that in the update log. It said it fixes bugs with the leaderboards.
Ah. But in my language said new levels…
Perhaps you read the v1.2.0 update, listed below the details about v1.2.1.
To be honest, it was version 1.2.1 but the description wa sthe same as 1.2.0.
Likely some new achievements too.
However Rovio designed.. and hosted this one.. I tip my hat! Smooth as playing the PC versions.. no lag, restarts are immediate, smooth play and instant mouse response.
Love it! Hopefully more will be like this when either developed, or hosted.. which ever was causing the severe lag on the other online mini games.
Well done.
Some interesting comments here. Lots of wild speculation, and some outright lies, it makes for fun reading! ;-)
I’d just like to comment that we in the web games team are happy that you like our stuff and, although we can’t guarantee how fast the guys on the mobile team will work to make updates (sorry!), you can be sure that we’ll continue to roll out interesting new web stuff on a regular basis.
FYI: Angry Birds Chrome and Angry Birds Pistachios are our only HTML5 web games. As of the current time, the rest are made in Flash.
Please do remember, in your speculations, that although Rovio is continuing to expand both its employees and its projects, we are only human here, and we face the problems of any group of people – problems, delays, setbacks, the unexpected. We also have a rigorous QA process to be sure that the game is as awesome as possible. We’re glad to know we have a great fanbase out there rooting for us, though, and trust me – your satisfaction is our number one aim :-)
Thanks for the feedback Jason! Quite honestly, working in the corporate world, I am amazed at how quickly Rovio is able to produce updates and new games. Bureaucratic processes and procedures tend to delay just about everything anymore.
Oops, and of course AB: Telepizza at http://telepizza.angrybirds.com which is also in HTML5
Always appreciate feedback from you guys. Thanks! For the sake of completeness, Google+ is also HTML5, but you might be lumping that together with Chrome.
@BirdLeader – you’re right, Chrome and G+ are handled by the same team. Telepizza was also made by this team, which is why I forgot to say that it was HTML5, and also why I forgot it while talking about the other custom games!
@mvnla2 – we generally won’t make alternate versions of the custom games, as they are agreed deals with a specific partner and only for a specific region. Making an English version of the Coka-Cola game, for example, would be giving Coke a free game worldwide, which wasn’t in the original agreement. Sadly fun and games sometimes has to make allowances for business goals, but we like to think we generally balance those just right. As for making a non-web version… well, that would just defeat the purpose of a special unique version of AB, now, wouldn’t it? :-)
And no, you won’t get Coca-Cola China in fullscreen, unless you do some funny stuff with your browser itself. The only games with native full-screen capability are the Facebook version (AB Friends) and… oops, almost spoiled the surprise there, didn’t I? Watch this space ;-)
“and… oops, almost spoiled the surprise there, didn’t I? Watch this space”
You’re going to have about 99% of those that live here, on the edge of their seats..and holding it in the whole time!
=)
Jason — I know you don’t want to hear this, but a lot of us are hoping the AB Philly Eagles is not web based. Even with the best interface, we like the IOS games much better than web ones.
“IOS games”. Yes, because Android and PC don’t even exist. -.-
I like all the mini-web games, it mixes it up a little while waiting for updates on ios and android.
sorry if someone already asked this, but do you need to be 16 to play or to be in the contest?
Maybe in the contest, but not in the game. I’m 13 and still could play those levels.
I think we should have a party to reach the goal of 10M
{removed by admin}
This is NOT an official Angry Birds game and the poster @Angriestblackbird is trying to fool you into going to an ad-sponsored site. The link appears to point to ninja.angrybirds.com but no such address exists; instead, the HTML sends you to a different site (hover over the link to see where, although it’s poorly formatted and will send you to a nonexistent page on this site – thank goodness for small mercies!).
If you appreciate and enjoy Angry Birds, don’t post or follow these fake links – and especially don’t try to fool others that they come from legitimate Angry Birds domains!
you guys are doing a great job ! squawk !
Wow you were quick on this one Jason. I was in the process of editing it.
how to play co-ca cola angry birds can you tell me?
@melaustin, you’ve to register at first from this link>> http://coca-cola.angrybirds.com/
but the language of this page is in Chinese so see this translated link >> https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/angry-birds-coca-cola-web-based-mini-game/angry-birds-coca-cola-login-screen/
Hope that helps! Feel free to ask if you wanna know anything else! :)
Can anyone confirm if the contest ended? The game is still playable, though for some reason it works slower for me today.
probably just a temporary glitch
Hey guys, I found a few people having scores on levels 8-10, despite the fact they aren’t accessable ATM.
The levels are accessible now.
I forgot my password. How can I reset it? Does 您的密码为 mean password?
Google translate says it is “Your password is”.
Strategy for level 8: Drop the white bird’s egg to the space between blocks where a bigger pig stands. You’ll destroy that area and the white bird (after he dropped the egg) should clear the weak block under the pile of bottle caps so they clear below pigs. And lucky for me, TNT got also exploded and I got 102k with three stars.
Thanks, @gokhaniel. I’ve got 104k while beat your #1 score. :D
I got three stars with 123k for level 9, 109k for level 10.
the drums are unlocked!!!!!!!!!!!
No drums are unlocked. 3 new levels are unlocked. And we already know it. See 3 posts above yours.
excuse me i want to make an account to play this but i cant understand the writing can someone please amke me an account or at least teach me how :)thanks
You could refer to the first screenshot in the above post :)
Too bad this game can’t be played anymore. It looks awesome!
