Welcome to the Angry Birds classroom! As the Angry Birds franchise grows in both number of apps and number of platforms, we here at AngryBirdsNest thought it would be useful to create a series of instructional and tutorial videos to help newbies and veterans alike. Now hush, class is in session.
It is still early in the development of this series, so our long-term plans are not set-in-stone yet. Nevertheless, while the first few videos are geared toward “n00bs” (brand new players, for those unfamiliar with l33t-speak), there will also be several videos geared toward advanced strategies for veterans. Finally, after we exhaust the world of Angry Birds, we will post several videos to help you navigate “The Nest”, including in-depth looks at some of the features that make AngryBirdsNest the ultimate Angry Birds fan site!
If you’ve got any suggestions on lesson you would like to see us create feel free to leave a comment below.
Lesson #1 Meet the Flockers
This video will introduce you to the general abilities of the original Angry Birds flock. If you have ever wondered why your Yellow birds don’t travel as far as in the walkthrough videos, or if you’re confused by what a “Reverse Remi Shot” is, we aim to answer your questions! Advanced flingers can probably skip this lesson.

Lesson #2 Introducing the Flock-In-Laws
In this video, we will introduce you to the extended flock, those Angry Birds that — while no less angry — have been added later. If you’re curious about the Orange “Globe” bird, those macaw’s from Angry Birds Rio, or the new birds in Angry Birds Space, we’ll show you how to master their abilities!

Lesson #3 Get to Know the Mighties
Since the introduction of the Mighty Eagle in the original Angry Birds, it has been our quest to exhaust all questions about its usage. In this video, we give a very brief introduction to all three “Mighties”: The Mighty Eagle, the Mighty Dragon, and Mighty Space Eagle.

Lesson #4 The Mighty Bounce
This is the first in a two-part lesson demonstrating some of the advanced strategies for the oldest and noblest of all birds: The Mighty Eagle. From controlling the Sardine Can to how Mighty behaves on his own, this should help rookies and veterans alike.

Lesson #5 Terence the Wrecking Ball
In this epic conclusion to our in-depth analysis of the Mighty Eagle, we reveal some of his greatest secrets. While some expert slingers may know the ultimate strategies for obtaining the most-allusive feathers, we decided to put them on display for all to see. We also revisit one of the most difficult feathers to ever exist!

Lesson #6 Accelerate Your Space
This lesson is intended to introduce you to some of the unique aspects of Angry Birds Space. We present a quick analysis and demonstration on how to properly use the new Lazer and Ice birds, and show off some of flinging strategies that should help you get through the most challenging levels, perhaps even Danger Zone!

Lesson #7 The Eagle Has… Blasted Through the Wormhole!
This advanced lesson on the Mighty Space Eagle is designed to save you time, energy, and hopefully some money in your quest to obtain all the feathers in Angry Birds Space. With a few informative posts and video walkthroughs for every level, together we can earn every feather in Space!

Lesson #8 Part 1 Introduction to Angry Birds Friends
Our goal with this lesson is to offer a basic overview of the features available in Angry Birds Friends on Facebook. It’s geared more towards newcomers, but others might find the information valuable as well. We break down what episodes are in the app, how the weekly Tournament works, and much more.

Lesson #8 Part 2 Angry Birds Friends Super Powers
This lesson focuses on the four Power Ups that exist in the Facebook version of the app — and now exist in the full mobile app as well. This is a worthwhile lesson for anyone unfamiliar with the concepts of Power Ups.

Lesson #8 Part 3 Angry Birds Friends Odds and Ends
The finale of our Facebook lessons lists as many miscellaneous features as we could think of. From bragging about your scores to examining the deepest, darkest nooks in search of Golden Eggs, we have you covered!

Coming Soon Navigational Guides to AngryBirdsNest
We at AngryBirdsNest pride ourselves on not only knowledge, but also organization. But with such a massive amount of content, it can be difficult to learn the ins and outs of the site. These guides should help you get from Point A to Point B like a pro, and maybe show you a few hidden nooks as well.
@amsilmfordy Is this your surprise for the community?
Yes, the beginning of it at least. A lot more videos to come.
You should link this under the “About” section in the banner pull down so everyone can find it once it gets pushed down under other news stories.
That’s a likely place, though we haven’t decided quite that far yet.
Just another section called “classroom” or “tutorials”…I’m sure both new and long time ABN users would find them useful.
The guide section would make sense, AB for Dummies :P
Perfect!
Thanks for the tips
very helpful
@amslimfordy Outstanding! Glad to see this type of information be published. If it could be connected to when someone registers the first time to the ABN this maybe very informative to a new player. Nice job.
True, a pop-up about the classroom after registering. :)
@peatree2 how and where did u get ur avatar from, its so cool!
@antpats a friend made it for me a long time ago. some of the other birds are in my album, more coming soon. :)
@peatree2 Hey can you make me an orange one? if you could that would be awesome!~ :)
@antpats I also have a black, white, and red bird (I’ll add them to the album soon), but no orange yet. I’ll ask to see if I can get one made for you. :) for now, feel free to use any of the other ones in the album. :)
May i please use the Big brother one from you?
It would go perfect with my name!
In typical AB / ABN fan tradition, I think it’s great, but how long till the next one?
Rovio has rubbed off on me: “No answers about release dates”
Why am I not surprised? You’ve been torturing us for at least a week waiting for this. ; )
More than anything, I just don’t want to set myself up for something I can’t handle.
Seems like I owe you an infinite number of “needles” since you needled me once, remember?
thanks for the tips
This is soooo great! should be very helpful! and save a lot of confusion:) nice job as always! :)
@amslimfordy The Navigational Guide to AngryBirdsNest will be the most useful to get one orientated to the site. This is a site with depth, many subjects and numerous discussions. Just a boat-load of information.
Wow, I was actually planning to make a series of videos like this a few months ago!
can’t wait to see all of them, seems very helpful to new and old players
This is great; worth the wait. I simply love the title of Lesson #1!!
Wasn’t that great? Alliteration abounds around here. Truly.
@amslimfordy Terrific idea! Were you having withdrawal from teaching already? ; ) Glad you started this virtual classroom. I’m especially looking forward to the Nest navigation.
@amslimfordy Very Cool!!! What a great idea and a great tool. We new it would be an awesome surprise and thanks again for all your hard work and time spent making the Nest the best AB fan site around! kudos!
@amslimfordy Excellent job on the videos! Great for first-time flingers! Even I, who have been playing Angry Birds for quite a while now, learned new tips! Can’t wait for more!
Nice Work! I love the graphics for the post too.. So, is there a printable certificate for finishing all the classes? Can we become certified ABN AB Experts? :)
Hrm… Not a bad idea. The question is… Will we ever be finished?
Just curious, but what do the equations below the projector images in each picture say?
Hrm…. I think I may change the code so that clicking on the images opens a thickbox. Otherwise you need to do some URL manipulation to see the full images.
Changed. Now clicking on applicable images opens full sized images in a thickbox.
Nice edition! So, what do the equations mean? I’m not a mathematician like you, of course! ;)
I want to see if some people can figure them out before I reveal their meanings.
Didn’t notice equations until now. They appear to be basic physics, but the first one is hard to read. Will work on them later.
i give up, i have no idea what they mean
@amslimfordy #3 I know, #2 I *think* I know, but #1 is currently evading me! :)
Yep I do know #2 – just had to solve it to be sure! :)
Feel free to post them. I figured you would get them.
Cool! How’s your ‘birdday’ been?
#2 I think is rate of change of volume of a sphere?
#3 I believe is a few different ways of expression change in momentum.
#1 I’m still working on, haha! :)
2: Correct! Rate of change of the volume of a sphere in terms of ROC of radius of said sphere.
— Relation to image: The Orange Bird is roughly spherical and it does inflate, so you could calculate such things using that equation.
3: I’ll say “Correct!” because it certainly is correct. But change in momentum is precisely “Impulse”.
— Relation to image: The Mighty Eagle swoops in and generates a huge impulse when “bouncing” off the ground.
1 is certainly the most advanced.
Yay! Ticks! #2 I call ‘maths revision’, and #3 I call ‘physics revision’. I can now justify time spent on ABN! :)
BTW, perhaps they are easier to view here: https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/amslimfordy/album/
Is the “Classroom Featured Image” the formula for Escape Velocity?
Yes! Well done!
I believe (am guessing here) that the equation below Bomb blowing up could be either about the time it takes for an object to heat up or the blast radius of an object.
Hrm… I can’t say yes to this. Vicinity, but not quite there.
I am guesing here that #2 maybe is somewhat related to logistics andit tells us that the impact genetarated by the black bird is the function of time where t is the total time and T* is the timeafter the bomb gets red
It’s a specific equation.
@AMslimfordyIt is the formula of a blast wave
Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blast_wave
i didnt know anything about it before
Well i have cheated a bit and i got the clue from @Dorito and your comment
Yes, it’s Blast Wave Pressure
That was a great video of all lessons of Angry Birds game, nice work! =)
Thanks @Nsponge200
Off topic, I know, but do you know Matty Danna? He works for dev too.
No, I never heard about Matty Danna. But cool.
@amslimfordy Wow! This post is very informative for new flingers! Even I learned a few tips myself! Thanks! :D
you didn’t really explain why the yellow bird doesn’t go as far in walkthrough videos!!!!!
I explained the speed boost.
Oooh! Thanks so much slim! Wish I had this when i started angry birds!
i know…i had to figure everything out on my own…until i went to ABN for the first time
Fantastic stuff, love it
This is a great tutorial video! Even I know how to play AB well, it still has some things a didn’t even know! Thanks!
hey Slim, i saw via twitter, so Happy Birthday @Amslimfordy !thanks for all the great stuff your giving us lately, and its us who should be giving you gifts, not you giving us, at least for today! :)
Stop by the Bloated Pig in the forum for Slim’s party and a piece of cake!
@iamslimfordy, awesome job!! I find it interesting putting a voice with a face! You have a nice voice, easy to listen to! :)
@amslimfordy keep up the good work and happy birthday,I will have to see the mighty eagle one because PC dont have ME
ETA on Chapter Four? If you want to take today off since it’s your birthday and all I guess we can wait… :)
No ETA, though in a perfect world I may be able to get the video done tomorrow. Then need a post and some artwork and such. It’s a whole ordeal ;)
It’s your birthday and a Friday – relax and forget about these things.
@amslimfordy Great, Slim!
Sorry, late happy birthday!
very helpful for new people playing angry birds
when does the next one come out?
Soon as stated in the main article.
It isn’t stated in the main article.
I see lessons 4 and over stating “Coming Soon”.
what does that mean
Let’s give slim a chance to catch his breath. We don’t have a set schedule on these.
@FujiToast Hi! Glad to see you’re still hanging around. How about listing your name and location on the map of ABN members in the forum? You could also check out the Bloated Pig, and the birthday list, if you haven’t already.
and while your at the forum check out “what your favorite bird” and ‘whats your favorite angry birds game”
Of course! I haven’t gone anywhere! Still making videos for ABN as well as for our next big project. I’m in the comments a little less, but I still keep a watchful eye out. So behave. ;)
Thanks for adding your name to map. I knew you were still around, but hadn’t bumped into you recently. Stop by the Bloated Pig and congratulate rd — Maddy born this morning.
I’m currently half way across the country and have been without WiFi for a few days. We have no set schedule for any of the videos, but I’m hoping for one a week at least. That’s only a hope and no guarantee.
Just like Rovio, I see providing free content as something that should arrive at it’s own natural pace.
@fujitoast, theirs another big project coming
Fun stuff, can’t wait for more!
