In this second lesson we take a deeper look at those Angry Birds that — while no less angry — have been added later on. Currently, the blue macaws are available exclusively in Angry Birds Rio, and the Lazer and Ice birds are exclusively in Angry Birds Space. The Orange bird, sometimes called the “Globe Bird”, has appeared in several apps so far. We’ve also added an introduction to the Pink Bird below. If you need any help on using these birds effectively, this lesson is for you.
Lesson #2.1 — Introduction to the Pink Bird

The Blue and Jewel birds presentation was informative. These birds took a while to get their technique of flight and use. Wish I had this instructional video when I started Rio.
Agreed – I never felt Rovio fully explained their use, but easy enough to figure out as time went on.
I guess what could be added in a future video (at a slightly more advanced level perhaps?) is that depending on which bird you have in front will affect the power of the collision with the structure. :)
Nice videos, all newbies should watch these videos before starting play!
many newbies come here….this is a good place for them
a bit off topic but will there be just the bird that can fly for his own (i dont know if he is blue or jewel)? perhaps in a future rio update? i suppose rio is not finished?!
Blu and Jewel know how to fly (as of the movie ending), so that’s a possibility.
Perhaps in a new app, if and when it appears. We’ve gained quite a bit of complexity in AB:Sp, so it would seem to be the next logical step.
Just loving the tutorial’s, even if we’ve all played them thousand’s of times, anything to do with Angry Birds is great!
I would have added the minor upgrade of the red bird, aka Super Red Bird – when you press or click, it “pulses” which gives it a slightly extra push. The same with the upgraded big brother, aka Terrence or Monster Bird. Press and he’ll pulse with a little bit more nudge.
My friends (Has no profile in ABN) said when controlling Blu and Jewel by throw and/or activating their power is hard, and again Orange Bird keep float whereas didn’t touch building, I help them, I stressed out because didn’t hear what I say. I pick my friends to this lesson because my friends is amateur. Thanks Slim, helping all amateurs.
Another great one. Wish I’d had this when I was starting Rio! Thanks for doing this, Slim. I’m sure everyone appreciates the time and effort.
how can you consider Lazer Bird a new bird? it’s just Maching (Yellow) Bird with a new power and color
Slim describes “Lazer Bird is sort of a tweak of the Yellow Bird”
And Lazer Bird is in Space Flock, not in the Original Flock. So it doesn’t make sense if the Lazer Bird was presented in the first tutorial video.
I think I describe it perfectly.
Angry Birds Classroom Lesson #2.1 added! Check it out!
sweet! nice job @AMslimfordy!
nice!
Great coverage of the new bird!
