Welcome to the first video in our instructional guide to Angry Birds. If you’re an advanced flinger you can probably skip this lesson, but if you’re new to Angry Birds this is the background you need before you progress to lesson 2. In this video @AMslimfordy introduces you to the seven original Angry Birds as they would appear in game. He breaks down their abilities and how to best leverage these to inflict the most destruction possible.

Even for us “veterans” still fun to watch, thanks slim!
I hope one of the long term results of this is that you have to answer a lot less questions for newbies. The episode about the ABN site itself should go a long way to heading off the “where is this” and “how do I do that” questions you answer every day.
Good job @amslimfordy & @birdleader !
Nice instructional video. I will definetly (sp?) refer my friends to these. My mom and dad have never played Angry Birds until it came to Facebook. I had to explain all the birds and what they could do over the phone while they were playing. Wish this had come out sooner. Would have saved me some aggrevation.
btw, I noticed that there is still no consensus as to the ice/glass issue. When ever you mentioned one, you also mentioned the other.
The sound effect sounds like glass breaking, but the Ice Bird and the achievements say it’s ice. I wonder what Rovio calls it, ice or glass?…
I always write ice though, if you have noticed. That’s my belief. But since some people watching these videos may be unaware of this “debate”, I say both. Who knows if I can keep this up later on…
I suspect that this issue, too will eventually resolve itself. Of course, a couple of words from Rovio would go a long way to achieving some kind of consensus, but still, I wonder if perhaps Rovio wants some things to remain unsettled, one way or the other…
Sooo… Since Amazing Alax is coming soon, will you make another website of it?
We are discussing “Amazing Alex” behind the scenes. We have not yet decided our course of action.
this is still good to watch if you are a expert player
What about orange/globe bird?
this is for the first 7 member of the flock there is a second video witch has orange bird in it @tnatiuk17piano
K
You have a nice voice slim! Even us “veterans” can watch this to learn something new! :)
very nice vid! cant be bad to watch it even if you play for a long time ;)
you din’t show orange bird in ep 7 birdday party
The Orange Bird is not part of the original Flock.
why not?
The original flock is the first seven birds to appear. Once Rio was released, any later birds are considered expansion birds. You can see them in Lesson 2
I am glad to hear how you talk Slim. Thanks for doing this!
This is a great tutorial, for new & experienced players
Thank you for that, fun to watch and easy to follow. Its also nice to know that I’m not the only one who sometimes (well quite often) misjudges when to fire the egg with the chicken bird, and end up starting over. As for the small blue bird, arggh! I’m useless at working out which angle to fire it and then when to split it, any offers of help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Slim, this instructional video helps my friends (Has no profile each in ABN) that as a beginner to play Angry Birds.
This is great, Slim. Well done.
i thought the original flock was only 5
Yes, but I say that since Terence and the Boomerang bird first appeared in ABo, and quite early in the app’s history, that they belong here.
oh ok
Very helpful video, even for those of us who have been around a while. It’s also funny how hearing the voice of someone you have only seen in writing changes your perspective. Thank you.
This gives me memories of when I started Angry Birds. I had no clue what to expect! When I started the game, Angry birds Seasons had only just started off!
The egg Matilda drops comes from inside her or she carries the egg bomb while flying and drop?
Man! This really brings back memories, it feels so weird to a longtime Angry Birds fan to hear the birds be acknowledged by their colors or their special abilities rather than their official names!
