  • Hello,

I have been playing most of the Angry Birds games on mobile on and off for over 10 years now, and I still have some questions on how the scoring works.

Is it truly random? I swear, I do the same strategies each time, yet I get different results. The angles are the same, I hit the same spots on the structures, yet things fall differently or I get varying amounts of points.

Does mobile device matter? I don’t think it does, but maybe different devices can affect the physics or something.

I really do feel like it’s random, but I’d like to hear what everyone else here thinks.

As far as I can tell, AB is predictably random.  Structures are originally arranged somewhat loosely, allowing for the pieces to settle on their own each time there is a reset.  Sometimes this results in a self destructing level, other times it ends up making the structure more stable, and thus harder.  My personal theory is that the individual building blocks that make up each structure are also designed with a little bit of variability in their actual size and shape, adding just a bit more randomness.  Add in updates to physics models across different platforms over the years, and some levels get easier, while others get harder.  I have yet to find a level where the ABN average is out of reach, though in some cases it now requires days of endless flinging to achieve.

A pixel of change in shot direction can result in multiple different results. Also, HOW the structure pieces impact each other affects scores. Every time a piece strikes another piece is more points, so more tumbling, bouncing, faliing increases scores.
