New Angry Birds Space levels!

  • I am unsure many people play the Apple Arcade version of Angry Birds here. It features lavels for AB Classic, Seasons and Space. Since the first release existing levels have been implemented in that game version, with from times to times various differences with respect to the original versions (Piggy Farm is not a rave party stuff). I believe some new levels of the Classic/Seasons version were implemented as well, although some may come from Friends. I cannot say more since I am not expert in any of those games. My overall impression is that the game physics has been slightly changed, so that you cannot compare your score between normal games and the Apple Arcade version (this is obvious in one Piglantis level I commented a few weeks ago). Same for Space levels we know of. I can give a few details if you are interested.

This post is about recent additions to the Space part of the Apple Arcade game. It recently added the Mirror World levels we know of, with a few new features. You can feather the mirror levels since a few weeks. More interestingly, a Mirror World version of Danger Zone was added recently (whereas the original Danger Zone is not). It does not significantly differ from the normal version, except for the vertical flip of the levels and the addition of Hector, usually in replacement of either a normal pig or a group of three piglets. One outstanding exception however: last level (D-30) is brand new, and quite interesting, I would add.

However, in the last version, released a few days ago, something very new was added: a whole new episode named Bird Bang Theory. It features (at last!) the space version of Mathilda (Iron Mathilda), and 30 completely new levels, some of which being rather tricky.  Maybe that episode would deserve walkthroughs and scoreboard, however in order to play the game you must pay 6,99 € PER MONTH, which is scandalously high. I could not resist, however.

Thank you for the update and information @sglouk. I am trying to get through ABSpace for the first time. It is a fun game but does require some skill and luck. Will keep your post in mind so that in the future will look into the Apple game set. I was unaware these AB games were presented by Apple. Learn something new everyday in AB Nest.

    Hi, space-master @sglouk (hi wrw01 too). :)

Sorry for being too late, but I’m curious. You said you could give a few details on the physics differences between original Space and the Apple version. I gently ask you for it, if you want to. It’d improve how I view the two games’ Space level design. (I’m just starting to improve my scores on original Space, even submitting some new strats/top scores; haven’t played the Apple game, but have watched it on YouTube). Feel safe replying, I won’t act badly or expose the Nest or yourself.

Also, a brand new Space episode is coming very soon to the Apple game! Called Wingularity, seems like its gameplay is based on Cosmic Crystals, with the planets, gems and stuff, some new asteroid objects… Saw it on the internet (source 1 see credits, and source 2). Don’t be surprised if a space version of Stella the pink bird debuts too, I’ve seen someone say Rovio confirmed it but no better source.

I should’ve contributed by saying the physics differences I saw by myself. My bad

    Obvious changes:

    • In the Apple game, Ice Bird and the freezing asteroids from Beak Impact now have a larger freeze radius. Non-Space birds like Stella and that blue cousin of Terence are also made noticeably stronger.
    • Activated radioactive asteroids’ interaction with gravity differs too: gravity drags them whenever touching their green toxic radius, not just the solid rock as it used to be.
    • Some of the returning levels’ layouts deliberately look distinct from the original, with Mirror Cold Cuts level 27 being an extreme example.

Not to mention other “subtler” differences (which were what I actually asked for) as mentioned by Sglouk and seen in the case of AB “Classics”.

    That’s it
