Squeak back Mr @rat
-
Your absolutley Correct @hunnybunny on both counts I've never heard of either But I do so appreciate Great architecture and the history of it.thank you. .I can't make it bigger though :(
but it certainly is beautiful:) -
@TomPuss -- Loved the video of the drag race between Bugatti Veron and fighter jet. Amazing that the car almost won. Would have won it the plane had to be on the ground at the end instead of zooming by a 1000 m/hr (or maybe a mere 1000 km/hr).
@Hunnybunny -- Yes, I love the Sagrada Familla, did you go?
@All -- Managed to go to Santa Barbara for Memorial Day weekend and get there and back with reasonable traffic. Left LA Sat morning and left S.B. this morning (Mon.).
Played Sandpiper Golf Course -- One of the most beautiful on the CA course, and definitely not easy. @Mumsie would really enjoy it. Has she been around at all?
Could not smell the oil from the oil spill. In fact, even though Sandpiper is northwest of UC Santa Barbara, NW of Goleta, which is NW of SB, we couldn't even see the fleet of boats cleaning it up. -
Whoa!!! @hunnybunny That's Incredibly Beautiful !!
-
@Hunnybunny -- Humpf! You mean the cruise boat didn't have a tour prearranged? First time we went (~20??? yrs ago), you couldn't go inside. Last time was on a cruise, and we had a prearranged group tour; no waiting in line. Will look for some pics.
@Kathy -- There was a huge oil spill from an on-shore pipeline ~30 mi west of Santa Barbara (the coast runs basically E/W there, about a week ago. If you listened to the national news, you got the impression it was practically in SB. -
@karhy when either you or I win the lottery I'll take you on a tour of the most beautiful places in Europe. Deal?
-
Wow @mvnla2 I'm Gonna have to look at that. .it was actually a pipeline huh?
hmmm i may need to rethink my views on the pipeline. at first when you mentioned 'oil spill'
my mind automatically came up with an argument in Support of the pipeline
naturally i assumed it was an oil tanker. . -
Deal @hunnybunny :)
-
Well, after having delighted @kathy, annoyed the admins by posting large pictures, discussed cruise ships and Barcelona with @mvnla2, heard nothing from our rodent friend, squeak, I'm off to an early bed, and book...
To my eternal shame, I'd never read "To Kill a Mockingbird" before. Half way through, and enjoying it.
Anyone in the US tell what a 'Lane Cake' is? I understood the 'shinny' that was put in it......
-
Lol @hunnybunny Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you haha
I've never read To kill a Mockingbird either. although i Used to be an avid reader. .
The"squeaker is on vacation lol:)
have a restful night. .Sweet Dreams -
Hi everyone :D
@Hunnybunny Awesome pictures! Love the Sagrada Familia ... although I know what it is I've never seen how it looks from the inside :)
Anyway ... I'm sure it's already Tuesday somewhere. I need a little whiiiiineeee ...
I have quite an important exam tomorrow morning ... and I've been learning almost for a week and I'm (according to tests I've written before) the best math student in my year so I totally should get an A ... but I'm still somewhat nervous :( :D -
@hunnybunny I loved visiting the Sagrada Familia and would love to go back. I haven't been since 2005, and the sanctuary was still a construction zone for the most part.
Barcelona is probably my favorite city. At least of the places I've been so far...
@mvnla2 I haven't played golf once since I moved to SoCal 3 years ago. I really need to get back to it. Would love to play Sandpiper some day, but for now probably need to stay on a less challenging course. :-/
@annifrid Good luck on your exam! -
Just got home after our West Coast Thunder XVI charity ride for the Riverside National Cemetery. Every year we take part in a parade from the local H-D dealership to the National Cemetery, then on to the Soboba Casino for food, shopping, and a concert. This year there were more than 7,500 bikes that lined up for the parade, stretching for about 1-1/2 miles. Here's the history of why we ride each year: http://www.westcoastthunder.com/ride_history.html
Paying tribute to our fallen heros for their Ultimate Sacrifice. -
@mcc8206 -- Try Brookside golf course (there are 2 I think), right next to the Rose Bowl. Wilson and Harding in Griffith Park are also nice, but they are LA city courses, and you can't reserve unless you are a resident. There is also a nice 9-hole course in Alhambra. Not that familiar with all the courses near you, but there are plenty.
Where did you live before? 3 years without golf is a LONG time. -
-
@mcc8206 I prefer Rome!
-
Thanks @Kathy and @Hunnybunny. We do it every year.
-
@Kathy @SweetP @Hunnybunny You were right, I did great, aced it :D
My next exam's on Monday, this time it's programming ... but that's an easy one, theory only :) -
Thanks for the vote of confidence Pa:)

" Die Piggies " -
Keep on riding @SweetP.
I'm sorry @Annifrid. I thought you were female this whole time. Congratz on the test results.
I'm torn between which I like better Mrs. Bunny. Rome or Barcelona? I'm leaning towards Barcelona, but I've only been there once. I need more data points. It's like NYC and Jackson Hole, WY in the U.S. of A. They both have positives. I'll have to get back to you on this one.
-
@mvnla2 3 years is a really long time! I travel quite a bit for work so sometimes when the weekend rolls around I'm just too pooped to think about playing golf. I did spring for a new pair of golf shoes a few months ago with very good intentions...
Brookside is 5 minutes from me so I really have no excuse. They have a few clinics coming up so maybe I'll get motivated and show off my new shoes. :-)
@Annifrid congrats on acing your exam! I bet it feels good to have that behind you!
@SweetP what a great organization! And an excellent way to observe Memorial Day.
@Hunnybunny Rome (and the rest of Italy) is still on my bucket list, but a few places are ahead on the list. I'm doing Japan next year, I hope. And really want to visit Scandanavia as well. Actually my travel bucket list is really pretty long... All I need is more money and more vacation time!
