Rovio posted an intriguing video featuring rock legend, Slash, the legendary guitarist from Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver. We don’t know much of anything, but the teaser points to a new, “SlashBird” and possibly a rock-themed update coming to Angry Birds Space. That said, as we all know Rovio is known to shuffle things around before releases and / or updates, so this pure speculation at this point (though see our prediction below).
On the surface this partnership seems a bit strange, but given Rovio’s track record of producing awesome mashups, I for one will give them the benefit of the doubt. It also doesn’t hurt that Slash is a “a big fan” of Angry Birds. If he truly loves and understands Angry Birds then this could end up being very cool. At this point though, only time will tell. I’m just excited for what is to come.
Prediction! The Game Developers Conference (GDC) — which is the largest gaming conference in the the world — is coming up at the end of this month. GDC also marks the one year anniversary of the release of Angry Birds Space, so for my money this is a perfect time to see a large, notable, Angry Birds Space update.
