Yesterday, Rovio shared the following Tweet.
The birds are flying to #SouthHamerica soon! pic.twitter.com/RpTa1F1ZD1

We originally speculated that this may actually be a hint to a Rio update (see below); however, today Rovio confirmed that it is actually a teaser for a new — long overdue — Seasons update!
Angry Birds Seasons will continue with a new #SouthHAMerica episode this Thursday! Birdtástico!

Well, of course we have absolutely no clue what Rovio is teasing here — if anything! There’s two sides to every coin, so let’s take a shot in the dark:
Clearly the image references about Brazil on so many levels: The soccer balls (or futbols, if you want), the match on TV, the statues of Christ the Redeemer in the background. Of course, Angry Birds Rio is set in Rio de Janeiro. And the animation seems to emulate more of the AB Rio style than any other app. So maybe it’s a tease toward a forthcoming update to Angry Birds Rio?
On the other hand, it could very easily be a reference about the World Cup itself. After all, it’s one of the most popular events in the world. And next week’s Angry Birds Friends Tournament is called the “Bird Cup Championship”. So maybe it’s just another tease about that?
What do you think? Are you excited for a new Seasons update?
