It wasn’t long ago that Rovio announced that International pop star Shakira would be joining the Flock as a “playable” character in Angry Birds Stella Pop. As of yesterday, the 14 days of Shakira Bird joining Stella have ended.
First off, Shakira Bird has been keeping busy, tricking piggies into doing good things. Check out her animated debut in this Toons mini-episode, created to help publicize the Up For School petition.
She doesn’t stop there though. According to a Billboard magazine article, she will be appearing in Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2 in the coming months.
If I were a betting man, I would guess that next week’s Angry Birds Friends tournament, called the “Love Rocks Tournament” is likely the Shakira Birds’s debut in that game, seeing as how the the challenge for completion of her time in Angry Birds Stella Pop was called, “Power of Love Pop”, her power was the “Love Bubble” and the new area was called “Love Lagoon.” That’s a lot of love connections.
This isn’t the first time that Rovio has collaborated with other music superstars. Previously, Green Day appeared in Angry Birds Friends as pigs, Slash Bird re-worked the Angry Birds Space theme song, Chuck became Freddy for a Day, and Apocalyptica helped to increase tourism to Finland. However, this is the first time a musical guest star will have appeared in three separate games.
Will she turn up in even further adventures with our heroic Flock? Only time will tell.
