My Maelstrom Set for Red is currently filling the Rage Chili by 40% for every defeated enemy. If anyone else is getting this bonus I suggest exploiting it while it lasts.

I would lean slightly towards weapons over arena items. The bonuses that the weapons provide will be useful in both the arena and in any upcoming events. Maybe 300 gpm and 200 agpm. I hope you get the Mana set for Chuck and Valiant for arena, they made playing so much easier. Either way, let me know what you end up getting. Good Luck!

To compare “apples to apples” I would need to know how long a manual (I assume you are not using autoplay) run takes you for 9-9. Unfortunately, the only way I can grind for either snoutlings or mastery is on autoplay. To really determine the best path you should use a snoutlings-per-second (sps) or mastery-per-second (mps) formula. Here are my autoplay numbers:

    Mouth Pool – sps 0.52, mps 0.25
    Mouth Pool w/ Pickpocket – sps 0.63, mps 0.25
    9-9 – sps 0.32, mps 0.55
    9-9 w/ Pickpocket – sps 0.19, mps, 0.47

As you can see, autoplaying 9-9 yields the lowest amount of snoutlings. For 300 snoutlings on manual play you would need to keep the time per level at around 9 minutes to equal the sps for Mouth Pool.

Nice catch on 9-9’s mastery though, it’s very good for mastery for mid to high level birds. Birds near max mastery tend to fly through with fewer additional pigs spawning, giving them an average (compared to other cave levels) amount of mastery.

I would love to see your manual play numbers. I’m not just saying that either, I really do love those kind of things.

Sorry, I thought you said you were getting 300 snouts per run but I could be mistaken.

The sooner you get the remaining classes the better. Every event that you play while not having them will be lost Mastery for those classes.

If you are planning on playing Arena then you will definitely want to get all of the classes. Eventually you will come across an objective that will require a certain class or two. I frequently get “Win 5 battles with Thunderbird and Cleric, (Elite)Stone Guard or (Elite)Illusionist. This is not to say that you need to buy them all right now as there are certain birds that I’ve never had to use to complete an objective.

In all fairness though I can’t remember how much the classes or upgrades cost. And while highly unlikely, you could spend the 500 LC’s on the 5xRR and get very little in return. It happened to me, but maybe I just had “bad luck”.

How many Lucky Coins did you end up spending?

Very nice. I picked up E. Rogues last event and now I’m taking him and the Druid over to the Arena for some Venomous fun. Unfortunately I’m on the losing team but have to keep playing the event if I want to stay in first place. Sigh.

    Just got Elite Druid.

Well thanks for ruining the event for me too. I was fine playing the same event for the upteenth time, constant crashes and elite classes that I will never play with, but I’ll be darned if I am putting up with an underground sea monster.

One of my teams is very close to yours –

    (E10 L52) Valiant Head + (E10 L62) Valiant Tapestry + (E10 72) Mythic Shroud

    Wizard – L70 M66 – Mana Shell (E5 L72 + E5 L72) (best all around set in the game, imo)
    Elite Pirate – L70 M62 – Gladiator’s Punch (E5 L62 + E5 L62)
    Elite Skulkers – L70 M62 – Cheater (E5 L62 + E5 L62)

Total power of 4328, only I seldom get teams with a lower power than mine and routinely get opponents over 5k when I run this. Not usually a problem though.
Turn 1 – Pirate’s Arrr! + Skulker’s Tricksy Trick on himself + Golden Chili on Chuck = a lot of dead birds. Even with the damage reduction from Mythic Emblems at least one bird still dies with the other two at half life.

And I’m not sure when they bumped Gladiator’s Punch from 30% to 50% additional damage, but I’m not complaining.

Really depends on your style of play, but if I had to pick one class per bird –

    Red – Paladin
    Chuck – Wizard
    Matilda – Witch
    Bomb – Pirate
    Blues – Spies

These are all around picks. Some classes will fare much better in certain situations. For example, in Arena I opt for Skulkers and Rogues over Spies.
I actually started playing when ABE first launched (back when mastery was broken up into bronze, silver and gold) and played the majority of the game with Paladin, Wizard and Druid. Well versed in RPG’s I opted for the mundane Warrior, Wizard, Healer combo. However, with all of the updates since then I’m not sure this would even still be a viable team.

I used to run Witch/Sweet but did not find it that effective. If you want serious healing try pairing Reds Maelstrom set with Matildas Timeless set. I’m currently running a power team and healing team (mostly because of the Mythic Thorn Wall emblem). Try my healing team of Paladin/Maelstrom, Wizard/Mana and Witch/Timeless. The battles take longer but I 3 star 90% of them.

The actual classes probably aren’t nearly as important as the combined power of the sets. With this lineup I can heal every 2-3 turns.
