Just watched the 2025 New Year firework display from Sydney, Australia. About as spectacular a display as I have ever seen. Then they showed the one from Auckland, New Zealand. It was like some kid waving a sparkler in comparison.

Twiggy and I completed our 2024 challenge of walking the length of the Appalachian Trail before year’s end. I did 2200 miles. She must have done well over 2500 miles. We had 2 days to spare.

She can have a day off.

Nothing in the UK where technically it only counts (as you can place bets) if the snow falls on the 25th. So we could have 6 foot drifts, blue sky, and it wouldn’t qualify. Or you could have a single flake and it would qualify.

Luckily we had a White Christmas thanks to a dumping of snow on the 23rd. I know it’s Canada, but where I am it’s less common. Decembers have been getting milder.

How many people had a white Christmas where they were?
