Ruuuunnnnn!!! Cute and cuddly monsters are invading and bringing fun with them! Check out our hands-on first look at Word Monsters in our playthrough video above.

Today Rovio Stars and Raketspel released the monster-filled word game, “Word Monsters”. Word Monsters is available now for free on iOS and is coming soon to Android. You can read the complete App Store description and download it from our Word Monsters app page.

From Rovio’s blog post:

Rovio Stars and Raketspel proudly present Word Monsters – a fun, fast-paced word game for quick fingers and nimble minds! In this fun new take on wordsearch, you choose a theme and race against the clock to find all the words – but beware, you have to find them in the right order to complete the level!

Themes include things like fruits, names, stuff that you keep in your fridge, or even 80s pop songs! Compete with friends, join a league, or simply challenge your own high scores and achieve three gold stars for every theme.

Not my cup of tea game type. One in hundreds mobile word game that doesn’t come in my language. Otherwise, I love word games and puzles. I’d love if I have a choice to play this game in Croatian-Serbian-Bosnan.

The game has been available in soft lunch in Sweden (probably because Raketspel AB is a Swedish company. And Raketspel means rocket games) for over a month now, so I have been playing a lot.
The game is actually pretty fun, but I tend to not like these timed games where you need to be as quick as possible. But otherwise the game is very fun.

I think personally that I’d prefer an update to Icebreaker or Tiny Thief (I know there’s one due soon!!). Like all Rovio Stars games i’ll give it a try – the only one I’ve not got on with to date is Croods but otherwise all good so far

Played the Fruit level into the gold stars and the Animals level into the silver stars. This game does test one’s reaction time to recognize the words.
Tried to start at the bottom of the stack of words and usually ran out of words and had to restart. It is fun and also challenging to obtain the 3 stars in the gold level.
One’s mental quickness and selecting the proper letters quickly will activate the brain, eye and hand coordination.
Nice game and a good alternative to inject between fling’n bird levels.

IKR @mpg973. I guess we’re at a disadvantage with our Android devices. Oh well, our time will come soon!

These app makers don’t know that more people have Android! It’s also a bit cheaper to make apps for them, and therefore is more profitable.

@anonymousomeone But harder to develop because there are so many more devices to check and adjust compatibility.

Yep @amslimfordy, developing for iOS is too easier than other devices. I think Rovio Stars Companies need more developers to create their games for more devices, fast.

Also, Rovio Stars is just the publisher. The app developers are small businesses (like 5Ants for Tiny Thief, e.g.)
