Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage Updated with Achievements from the Mysterious Watcher

It seems that Nitrome and/or Rovio listened to quite a bit of user feedback. One minor-but-significant improvement to the app is the in-game dialogue: Clicking the “Fast Forward” button jumps the dialogue completely, instead of line-by-line like in v1.0.0.

More significant is the introduction of the Watcher. Slightly creepy, the Watcher introduces in-game and GameCenter achievements! To view these in-game, click on the trophy in the bottom-left corner of the Episode Selection Screen.

There’s a total of 25 achievements to unlock, but 16 of them are secret achievements! For any hidden or secret achievement, you must first find the achievement in-game. These appear in particular levels (noted in the achievement descriptions below) as wooden signs with a balloon on top. Slice the balloon to read the achievement. You may then proceed to earn the achievement. Here’s what Nitrome has to say about the Watcher:

We have an all new character called the watcher who sets you missions on little sign posts around the game.

Missions range from trying to strike a chicken enough times before it flys off screen to a pack wide treasure hunt and even a mission that will involve some detective work finding the Vikings that are ever so subtlety different….ooohhh! We have made every effort to go beyond what you would normally expect from achievements to something we really feel expands the game world!

Retroactive Achievements: If you’ve already played most of the game, you will have to re-complete a few levels to force achievements to register. We outline a few below:

We have a full list of these achievements live in the Achievements Section of the site, but a few of them still have question marks about how they are supposed to be earned. If you have any information about these, please let us know!
