A BIG thanks to @josm for pointing us to this Rovio blog post which includes details on which platforms Plunder Pirates will launch on:
Plunder Pirates will be released on September 18 for iPad and iPhone on Apple App Stores worldwide. The game is free to download.
Regarding other platforms beyond iOS, Rovio addressed that on Facebook saying:
Hi we’re currently putting all our efforts into getting the iOS version ready for global launch, but Android is never far from our minds. We’re a small team and so unfortunately can’t do as much as we’d like, but Android is definitely in our plans.
Those of you familiar with Clash of Clans will find the game familiar, but it definitely stands on its own. For example, exploring the oceans in single player mode offers a nice twist, as do the awesome 3D graphics.
Actually, my son and I just started playing Plunder Pirates a couple days ago and I plan on doing some tutorials for beginners. Below is my first such attempt, which you can also find in this forum. In the video below look for the notorious pirate captain @sal9. He’s been pillaging on the high-seas a bit longer than I, and as such he’s also a much higher rank. Not for long though!
So now it’s your turn! Are you scurvy dogs lookin’ forward to Plunder Pirates?
