Message to Rovio – Angry Birds Transformers

  • I am a first time poster, but long time reader….i am posting here for two reasons. The first is to get some like minded players thoughts about how I feel and secondly, for hopefully someone at Rovio to read (as I know there are a couple people who casually monitor the boards who are directly involved in the game).

    I have been playing for about 1.5 years. When I first started playing I purchased Jenga mode and a small batch of Gems to get me going on my progress.

    I have reached all possible achievements in the game and the goal for me was to get all possible transformers and get to the highest level (and have some fun along the way).

    When Rovio released the transformers that you had to purchase, I made a decision to not buy these. The decision was based on the fact that in my opinion had played/worked long and well enough to have sufficient in game currency in Gems, coins or pigs to get the extra 2 transformers. I currently have just under 15,000 in gems, which to Purchase would be over $400 worth.

    Now that I don’t have the chance to get the outstanding 2 transformers and reach the highest level possible, I feel there is no longer any point in playing the game.

    Thanks to anyone who has read down to this point. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the post.

    Trust me, you’re not the only one who feels this way.

    I only play when there’s a special event going on that offers me a new TF to earn, and outside of that I gem farm on the off chance that the game will be expanded at some point.

    I totally get where you’re coming from. They have really turned me off from the game recently by increasing the tokens needed for bots in the events. The leaderboards are glitchy and infuriating. I think it’s a horrible idea to put so many challenges consecutively because I know they are counting on people to buy gems yet they haven’t opened a new area in years. I’d like to get the seekers but they are my least favorite bots to play next to sentinel prime and heatwave. I’ll try for Acidsrorm because I liked him in a comic book series years ago. Rovio has fallen from making good games to the lure of in app purchases. Plunder Pirates is still their best game after all these years.

    You have to remember @ncaddy @deszaras Nemesis Prime was $14.99.$9.99 for 400 gems.3 accessories for,say $3.99.That means Nemesis Prime was only $1.01.Rodimus Prime was $3.99.I would have got him,but me and a lot of other people never saw the option to.Let’s say $1.00 for 25,000 coins.$1.99 for 100 gems.That means Rodimus Prime was only $1.00.1 cent cheaper than Nemesis Prime.I presently only am missing Rodimus Prime,Starscream,Sunstorm,and Skywarp.

    @awesomepow That’s one way to look at it, however I don’t really worry too much about collecting all the accessories and I definately don’t need any more Gems at the moment…I guess my point was that my goal in playing the game is to reach the highest possible level. I can’t do that now (or before) unless I was willing to buy the available transformers. Unless this changes some time soon or unless the game play provides me with a bit more enjoyment, I’ll probably end up deleting the game which is a shame as I have enjoyed playing it for quite some time.

    @ncaddy,

    Why delete the game? Are you that short of storage space?

    One new problem is that if a game is only about beefing up your list of available and powerful characters, Pokemon Go is a lot more fun. :)

    @franciscrawford A good question and the only way I can half explain it is that I think I’m a bit OCD and when it’s on my phone I feel the need to open up the app, collect all the coins, gems, rewards from missions etc.

    I was happy to do this with the goal of upgrading my transformers and reaching the highest level possible whilst playing the game. Now I can’t reach top level I only hang out for the competitions and the hope that Rovio will change its mind and allow all characters to be attained.

    I guess I find myself getting annoyed at wasting any time on just collecting more coins, gems and pigs when I already have so many of them. I haven’t played a node outside of the competitions for however long.

    Not sure if I explained it too well, but hope it kind of makes sense.

    @awesomepow Haha. You are probably right. I do get a bit ashamed about playing a game where pretty much on all levels (except a couple where u hit the target to close the floor) that I can finish the level without hitting a target and even looking at the screen…I am holding on to hope that things will change….Just not sure how long I will hold on is all.

    @ncaddy,

    :)

    I just look at competitions as hard mode. Regular mode bores me, but competitions are harder in that:

    — You have less to fight with.
    — You have more things to accomplish. (You want to hit EVERYTHING that gives points.)

    Some people also think damage is dialed down for comps (or, equivalently, targets are made harder to destroy).

    I find competitions challenging; in several of the competitions, I rarely finished a run with a perfect score.

    @franciscrawford Yes you are correct and it looks like we have another competition coming up which should keep up the interest level for a week or so. The Competitions with the chance for extra birds are usually the hardest to win too.
