reddie@reddie250Another easy DC today (from Greasy Swamp, I think) and it was 3-4-5. Silver was my first bird to launch on the boss room. She somehow popped the balloon holding the platform that King Pig was on. Afterwards, I used Matilda’s egg to blow up the ice between the second and third small towers with a pig on ’em and down King Pig goes.
Too bad I got the ducks from the chest.
Dwhite@dwhite407043-4-5 for me as well today. Took me 3 tries to get the Boss. Another fun DC. I criticize this game but I also compliment it. The DC’s have been really cool over the last couple weeks. If Rovio sticks to their pattern though then you can expect that to change. Having a fun, fair game apparently goes against their principles.
Dwhite@dwhite40704Tried 6 times on the Boss. Failed 6 times. But I’m sure I will be in the “huge minority”.
Rhys4AUFC@rhys4aufcWhat a disgracefully-designed boss level today’s DC is. 6 rooms, the first room itself is beyond a joke. Are Lolvio deliberately trying to frustrate the heck out of their players? Shame!!!
Rhys4AUFC@rhys4aufcNever mind, managed to complete it after four attempts with some luck.
heybert17@heybert17Sorry but taking a common level and adding 2 impossible to get through barriers is not good level design, it is lazy level design. I had to use 6 birds to get through 1 barrier because that was how long it took to randomly FINALLY get bomb to break through it. That was room one, round one, needless to say I did not complete the 3 rooms.
When I restarted, same level, this time the barrier was a balloon, and I had bomb in my first 3 birds, 1 bird, level completed. There is no skill involved in this game, it is all luck of the draw, and that is not fun. You should be able to learn as you go, not just get lucky.
The 2nd attempt I made it through all 3 rooms with 4 birds.
kelshe@kelshePlayed the DC earlier today and the boss level had 5 rooms. Lost. Went back later and the boss level had 6 rooms.?
reddie@reddie250I have to call total BS on that boss level too. We have to jump the barrier twice in R1 and R4? Damn you Rovio! Managed to complete it after five attempts and that won me 150 red feathers from the chest.
David Martin@david-martinI agree with you guys. Whoever designed today’s DC is a sadist. That room with the high bamboo barrier is sadistic to begin with, because there is ALWAYS an obstacle placed just so that, no matter what your trajectory, you will either hit it or miss what you’re aiming for below it. Having that same room twice in a six-room boss level is extremely unfair. Just before the second occurrence of that room is another room that requires 3 birds seemingly no matter what I do, unless I use Bomb, which I really need to save for the next room. Sure, I could do this if I had nothing but Bombs and Terences, I guess.
Ironically the boss is one of the easier ones if you can actually get there. I got there once due to some extreme good luck involving a golden pig and a few rooms I could finish with one bird. Then I blew it due to timing the explosion wrong and none of the pebbles knocking the boss out of his endless flight. I was so mad at myself for that, because I’ll probably never make it back there again.
David Martin@david-martin…and once again I’ve ended up eating my words with less than an hour left on the clock. It still took more luck than skill, though. Lesson learned: Whenever the DC is abominably difficult, I should come on here and gripe about it, then I’ll actually pass it.
Rhys4AUFC@rhys4aufcTalk about absolute cheapery, today’s DC involves Terance, Halloween-based 5 rooms. I’ve tried like 6 times, first level had the umbrella pig, a couple had those stupid magician pigs. the last attempt I got up to the boss & ran out of birds, decided to spend 60 gems & only got given Matilda, Red & the Blues, which sadly was absolutely no bloody use. Typical cheap Lovio, not happy!!!
Psygaz@psygazToday’s Terence DC is ridiculously difficult. I’m an accomplished player and have got nowhere near boss level yet. Wasting birds chasing smug magicians around, having to use bomb to get a micropig that survived a complete structure collapse. And so on. Given up/lost interest.
(But bet I’ll give it another go)?
Angry Beaver@sambeaverFor me today’s DC was ridiculously easy, on first attempt i did all rooms with strike and boss with birdie. Probably it was just luck. IDK. Usually DC demands at least
4 – 5 attempts, sometimes even more.
Angry Beaver@sambeaverToday it was harder than yesterday, took 4 attempts.
reddie@reddie250Agreed with Angry Beaver but it took me 10 attempts and shame I had to spend 60 gems to get the job done. I did get 100 Terence feathers from the chest.
kelshe@kelsheYou’re feeling pretty good about yourself. You go into the next to last room of the boss level with 6 birds and an almost full destructometer. You Fill it up, still have 6 birds. Then, faster than you can say algorithm, your 6 birds are dashed on the rocks of despair. Oh, you make it to the boss room but with no birds. A fleeting glimpse of the boss then…
Dwhite@dwhite40704I made it to the Boss but that’s it. It looked like this was a DC strictly to get you to spend gems, $$$, etc. No way I could get the job done today without spending.
reddie@reddie250It took me 10 tries and I failed miserably. Even after spending gems, my bomb just couldn’t quite detonate the stupid TNT, barrel and piece of wood. I just lost hope. Boss wins, I lose.
Angry Beaver@sambeaverSix-room boss? I was so close, only what i needed was one more bird.
And i had no gems. Why there is no “watch-the-video-and-get-free-bird” button.
Why? Why?
DJLarryt@djlarryt@kelshe that is my story too. This ^@$#*^ DC today stole 180 gems from me. Got into the boss screen THREE TIMES and THREE TIMES the boss got stuck someplace on or under a rock and no birds could hit him. I also got the ‘totally ineffective bird syndrome (TIBS)’ as soon as I entered the boss screen. Coincidence? Hardly.
180 gems = three times to “play on” and none of them succeeded so I gave up.
@dwhite40704 Exactly. There was no way to complete this DC without spending. As a matter of fact EVERYTHING you do in AB2 these days requires spending. No wonder hackers are the only ones who ever advance.
Dwhite@dwhite40704Off the subject of DC. Apologies. Are the Arena opponents still painfully fake? It was pathetic when I hung it up a few weeks ago. The avatars they use are so, so counterfeit. I tend to buy into the conspiracy theory that Rovio created these ghosts. The hackers are easy to spot. Low star level and maxed out birds with 5 spells. I’m sure they just dug in their pocket and ponied up a grand for these (12) level birds. ?
I will forever be in awe how this huge minority of players in the nest can draw the same opponents with hundreds of thousands of players. Pure coincidence ?
Djangosmum@djangosmum@dwhite40704 – sorry I can’t answer your question on the Arena as have given up on it too (and feel much better for it) Spending more time catching up on the levels from 600 – is it me or are they much easier than they were around 500? I remember the general angst and frustration expressed on this forum about them at the time, but no-one mentions the map levels now with the Arena the focus of complaints.
On the subject of today’s challenge – glad I’m not the only one – got to the boss and regrettably spent 60 gems to no useful effect.
Dwhite@dwhite40704I would agree with your observation. I’m doing one campaign level per day and I feel they are easier than at 500. Currently at 629. I have noticed that today it’s taking me to the Game Center as soon as I hit the app. Just different but working.
Django it is quite refreshing not to fight the Arena on a daily basis.
Edit: I might be on 629 until the end. I’m stuck.
kelshe@kelshe@djangosmum, @dwhite40704, I can’t even play the levels. Finished them soon after my progress was restored. All I have are the DC and the Arena. Maybe we’ll get new levels Thursday.
David Martin@david-martinI doubt I’m gonna pass today’s DC now that I’ve seen the boss – and once again, it’s the one from Mount Evernest who gets stuck on the stupid wood plank and it takes 5 birds and a virgin sacrifice (I may be exaggerating slightly) to move him off of it and clear the chute below. I know you can make this a lot easier on yourself by firing Bomb through the crack in the center of the level. But once again, the 6-room level is designed to waste at least 3 birds in nearly every room, so even getting to the boss with an ideal bird or two left to fire doesn’t help you much if you don’t have a few other birds for backup.
Do we know why the DC repeats the same bosses so frequently? There are plenty to choose from in the game, and I feel like we’ve seen this specific one 3 or 4 times now, while some other bosses from the same world haven’t shown up in a DC at all yet.
