Accessories useless waste of time

  • I have just completed 8 desert runs to complete my daily challenge. As I only had one transformer in the desert I just let it run until it was killed. Then I recharged and redid the run. I did this with coconut hat, plus 20% defence, dragon hat, plus 8% defence and with no hat. The transformer was killed at exactly the same spot by a falling tower on every run. The hats made no difference whatsoever. In each case the transformer had one heart left as it was killed. This is the first time I have tested what I have suspected for some time. I am glad I did not pay any money for gems to buy them. Rovio should be as well, otherwise they would be guilty of fraud.

To reply to your rant, I believe defense accessories are meant to give a slight boost. There were probably too many damaging factors in that level to weaken a pacifist Transformer to be finished by a monolith, regardless of defense.
There’s no fraud with accessories; They are a premium feature that’s totally up to the player’s choice to buy or not. In fact, accessories were purely cosmetic in the earliest versions of the game! Other accessories that give bonus effects are actually useful as well.

with quests like this you can leave the level and then re do it, this will count to do a “do so many runs on a set level”

They have messed up all the add-ons, they’ve even messed with the continuous fire helmet Ultra Magnus has, since the last update it fires and now stops to re-charge and fires again. Before the update it never stopped firing once.

Woo24 I am aware that accessories were originally only cosmetic, I did not bother to Aquire any until they were promoted as giving some sort of advantage on attack or defence. I appreciate that the same monolith probably would have taken them out regardless of lives (hearts) left. But in all three instances they had the same amount of life left ie one heart minus one bar. I would have thought that a 20% increase in defence would show a noticeable difference however slight but it did not not. I stand by my comments.

It also depends on what Transformer you are using, since some can take more damage than others. @rsfitzg, you mentioned “Coconut Hat”, which I believe you are referring to the “Coconut Helmet” (Billy from “The Angry Birds Movie” to be more egg-sact), which provides a 20% defense boost for (most) Autobirds (the Cowboy Hat functions the same way for the Deceptihogs). As aforementioned, some Transformers (Autobirds to be more specific) can take more hits from falling Monoliths and Walking Mortar Towers than others, such as Heatwave being more durable than the fragile Windblade (who used to be able to re-heal with Energon cubes due to her using most of Energon Starscream’s code), so keep that in mind, not by the size or gender of the TF. Who were you using on that Desert Island node anyway?

I was using Grimlock on all runs. I would have thought that it should not make a difference which transformer you use. If you add an accessory that purports to give 20% advantage on defence then you should be able to see the difference when doing identical runs with the same transformer.
