I did some testing on Caves 11-4 and 13-5 tonight. I’m leaning towards 11-4 being the better option for mastery in most cases (and certainly better for snouts), but with 13-5 still having its uses.
Here are the results of my test runs:
– Cave 11-4: Using my M12 Elite Knight (with L52/E8 Dragon set) and M12 Princess (with L62/E5 Nightmare set), and borrowed birds with average power of 288. Ten runs, 3:56 average time, 33.5 mastery/bird/minute, 15.1 snoutput/minute.
– Cave 13-5: Same birds as above, and borrowed birds with average power of 297. Ten runs, 6:32 average time, 30.2 mastery/bird/minute, 12.2 snoutput/minute.
– Cave 11-4: Using my M12 Elite Mage (with L52/E9 Twin Lightning set) and M13 Elite Skulkers (with L52/E7 Artillery Strike set), and borrowed birds with average power of 323. Nine runs (because I was starting to run out of birds to borrow), 3:26 average time, 38.3 mastery/bird/minute, 18.7 snoutput/minute.
– Cave 13-5: Same birds as above, and borrowed birds with average power of 298. Nine runs, 6:11 average time, 32.7 mastery/bird/minute, 12.7 snoutput/minute.
In other words, this is all a long-winded way of saying, “thank you @bubbley for the tip!”
However, I will say that @pointless makes a good point as well, about not always being ready to start the next run right when the previous one ends, which would obviously make Cave 13-5 more valuable since the mastery per run is SO much higher (snouts per run, too). Additionally, my highest mastery/bird/minute during all this testing I’ve been doing has still been in 13-5, with Wizard/Bard earlier this week. I haven’t tested that combo on 11-4 yet though, so I’ll try to get that done tomorrow, for comparison.
Two last comments:
– A downside to 11-4 is that you run out of friend birds to borrow faster than you do grinding 13-5, and I don’t have a lot of two bird combos that can autoplay either level without a relatively strong borrowed bird.
– Another feather in the cap of 11-4 for me, personally, is that my phone locks after five minutes of inactivity, so the long average run times on 13-5 mess with me a little. If I don’t notice my screen dim in preparation for locking, then the level gets paused for however long it takes me to notice, which is annoying. It’s a phone that was issued to me by my company; the short maximum lock time is a security feature, and there’s nothing I can do about it. (That said, this happens rarely, because my phone is sitting right next to me at my desk.)
