Oh, I’m fine — I’ve never spent any money on LC. My biggest stash of LC came from exploiting the daily golden pig back when it was in the week-long format — you could manipulate time-zones and get a lot of LC. Not that it really matters — all of those LC went up in smoke spinning for Epic gear and then getting mastery to 12 (and then they raised it to 15 — if they raise it again this game will definitely be done for me).

@poptimus

Really? Cave 1-5 drops a lot of mastery even though the critters are only level 16? OK, time to do some testing:

Cave 1-5, three runs (the pigs are level 16):
Medals dropped: 16, 15, 15 or 46 total
Mastery gained: 276
Mastery points per medal = 6

Cave 4-5, three runs (the pigs are level 22):
Medals dropped: 11, 16, 16 or 43 total
Mastery gained: 344
Mastery points per medal = 8

Star Reef Castle, one run (the pigs are level 60):
Medals dropped: 4 + 1 boss medal
Mastery gained: 49
Mastery points per medal: Do boss medals count double or triple? Because maybe I missed one normal medal. In any case, it seems like the medals were worth 7 points each with a boss medal (which I think is guaranteed?) being double or triple that.

I always though mastery per medal was based on pig level. I should just read your other thread, but do “normal” medals max out at 7 points per, while Chronicle Cave medals are far more lucrative even for low-level pigs? Was it always that way? I am guessing the drop rate in the Cave levels is around 70-75%, while drop rates on SRC are around 30-35% at best (depending on whether or not the boss always drops).

In other words, you are right. *smile* I would test a higher Cave, but I am fighting with just two birds and anything beyond 4-5 will probably start to be a slog. I know 1-5 would easily auto-play and take less time, so that will probably be my new grinder.

Incidentally, in 6 runs through the two Caves, I must have seen at least four Wealthy Rogues. So, snoutlings probably end up being more lucrative there as well, or at least about the same (twice the number of rooms as SRC but twice the snoutlings, usually).

Thanks for the great tip! I need to keep up on the forums more. *smile*

Thanks,
