On the flipside, I got to play today’s DC twice, or at least the 3rd level of it. I began my struggle with yesterday’s near-impossible DC in the evening, and actually made it to the boss but didn’t defeat him, and I force-quit the app at that point rather than resetting the DC. Shortly after midnight, I figured it was worth another try. Booted up the game, went straight to the DC with a few hours still left on the timer, and saw the third level of today’s challenge, which was actually pretty easy by comparison. Finished it, and got the yellow feathers that were supposed to be awarded for yesterday’s challenge. Then, this afternoon when I had some downtime at work and was playing the game, I noticed the timer had restarted, so I played through all 3 levels of today’s challenge (noting that the final level with the boss was the same one I’d easily beaten late last night) and got my white feathers as well.

I suppose there’s a potential exploit there if a really hard challenge is followed by a relatively easy one. Can’t finish today’s? Get as far as you can, force-quit the app, then try again after midnight. If the next one is easier to finish, you can then do it twice in the same day, and reap the rewards for both days’ challenges. This, of course, only works if you start the DC with less than 8 hours to go until local midnight (I’m guessing that’s when the DC rolls over to midnight; you might be able to play with the time on your device to trick it), and if you’re up after midnight to finish the job. It can’t be exploited multiple days in a row (because once you successfully complete a challenge you have to start the next one from scratch), or to get the same days’ rewards multiple times, but it should save you at least a little time and frustration.

Whether I’m pointing this out to be a black hat or a white hat is subject to interpretation, I suppose.
