What I find wrong is how the people on the leaderboard (200th or higher) can get THOUSANDS of event points in less than 24 hours. Yes, they could be skilled, but energy and ship energy is very limited! In addition, you aren’t guaranteed to get a monster after every battle. They could also have lots of gems to refill, but who would be crazy enough to be this diligent and have all the money for so much gems?

I feel that the prizes for the event are hard to get, because you need to be 50,000th up to even get a major prize and Fight points for the whole event. On top of that, to get an SS item, you need to be 10,000th up. So that means 40,000 players are getting a simple S item, which isn’t always as powerful as it seems. Several hundreds of thousands to a few millions of players are pretty much empty-handed. But only 5,000 people get ship items, and only 1 tenth of that gets a whole SS ship set along with a bird’s SS item. Of course, Rovio can’t simply make the prizes too easy to get, but after rising a few hundred places while you play, you get knocked back a few hundred places by others trying to ascend while you aren’t playing, meaning that competition for the jackpot is very unstable.

From my perspective, getting the whole ship could result in the next monster event being easier because you already have a ship with high stats and good skills, so you can take on more monster pigs before you start to need more than 1 ship energy per monster battle. The slot-exclusive ship items that increase a certain stat when pitted against the monster pig are simple moneygrabs, as once the event is over, there is little point in keeping the item when equally good or even better items are also owned.

The monster and arena events are well designed in my opinion, but Rovio’s going to need something new to keep us in the game for an even longer time. Simply rising the stat values of new items won’t make the game more enjoyable.
