Oh @AMslimfordy your in that area too aren't you? Well I hope your safe too! BBL @all
-
Just got kicked out ...gonna shut down to be safe brb ..
-
@penguinlover @all -- If you get any suspicious messages from Harry or Blah or any other ABN member, whatever you do, don't click on the link! Report it immediately to Slim and BirdLeader, and send a PM to the sender. I don't think you (Penguin) have a twitter account, so probably this won't affect you. Kathy and I, and some other ABN members are getting twitter notifications "from Harrystar and Blah" that Harry and Blah didn't send, and contain a link that I'm not going to follow.
-
Ok @mvnla2 so far nothing but if i do get a suspicious message ill report slim and birdleader lOh no thank god Id have twitter someone must b hacking twitter or ABN this is odd who's doing this???
-
I just sent @blahalb09 a direct message on Twitter as well as pm here..@mvnla2, did you notified @Harrystar6?
-
I suspect it's tethe same culprits we've been hspeaking of ..c
-
Guys I think Ik who did this
-

-
Thanks! @Amslimfordy ..:)will do..not sure how..
-
@penquinlover you serious ?? Who? And how do you know?
-
I'm thinking it may b @afluffybunny or 1 of the members who were mean 2 @angryboy dat could b a possibility
-
@penquinlover what do you mean you know who did this?
C'mon. ..? -
@all About the Twitter DMs. The links in the DMs are probably Trojan Horse/Spyware/Spam links. Meaning that if you click the links, you will probably have a Trojan Horse or some sort of Spy/Spamware magically installed on your computer. The neat thing about the DMs is; when you click on them a message is sent to everyone you follow/follows you. It's not really neat, but hacking has become quite an advanced sort of thing.
If you did happen to click on the link, I would recommend running your virus scan immediately and pray it finds it.
If you clicked on it while on your phone, it could possibly take your phone number and then the person that has control of the link could sell your number to telemarketers/textmarketers and you will start receiving texts or calls for you to try to buy stuff. -
Ya maybe
Sry my phone slow thought you left me.. -
Bc of wat happened yesterday 2 @afluffybunny but it could b a virus or someone on here who got banned and is trying 2 control twitter or hack ABN who do u think it is
-
Ooohbhh nooo I clicked the link like.3 links one led to another
@rdnzlrips2 ;( I have enough trouble "right nowm.what should I do? *wiping tears*
-
I really, highly doubt ABN can be hacked and a hacker be given Admin power. Now, the idea of a hacker hacking a member's account, 100% possible. If you click on fishy links, it could install some of the things mentioned above as well as a keystroke program that monitors every letter you type on your keyboard, which would give them passwords.
-
@kathy Were you on your phone when you clicked it?
-
Yes. @ripsy on my phone ..when? I clicked and if sent me to other links
-
Okay. I would suggest just waiting to see if you start getting weird calls or texts. If you get a text advertising something, simply reply "STOP". If you start getting weird phone calls, you should be able to block them.
-
@rdnzlrips82 is exactly right. ABN itself cannot be hacked. Certainly, individual accounts can be hacked, but hacking an admin account would result in far greater consequences than simply identifying another user. Let's add that there are only 3 full-admin accounts and 2 "editor" accounts, one of which is a dummy for testing purposes. And while I can't speak for everyone, my password absolutely will not be broken.
According to modern cryptography standards, a secure password should exceed 12 characters and include both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and assorted symbols and other punctuation as allowed by the host. A password built in this way will take most modern cracking-purposed computers several years to crack. A personal computer would require many millennia to crack such passwords. -
I am so stupid ..should have known better ..srry @rdnzlrips82 you have enough to worry about ..I'll. Be ok :)
-
Are these DMs on Twitter or ABN?
Just to be 100% clear, your ABN passwords are encrypted in out database, so not even admins can access them.
Clicking a link can indeed be bad, but I think it's a stretch to assume you've immediately downloaded some evil virus, trojan, etc. -
So I can change my ABN password? I will try now ..
-
Yes, all users can.
-
Imm @rdnzlrips82 ..how do I do it.
Change password ..? -
These DMs are on e-mail "sent by twitter", the DM don't actually exist.
-
@BirdLeader I am just going by what I have seen before. A friend of mine is a computer genius. Some of the things these people are capable of nowadays is pretty intense. But changing passwords is always a safe thing to do. I actually change mine every week. All of my passwords I have are changed every week.
-
Yes they are Direct Messages sent via Twitter by two of my Bloated Pig followers @harrystar6 and @blahalb09.
-
-
@kathy go to your profile hit the settings and you will be where you can change your password.
-
@Kathy Go to your main site profile, click on "Settings" in the row that says "Activity / Profile / Messages / ...". Therein will be the option for Change Password.
-
So that's why I couldn't find direct message to reply..they dont exist really (
Why would blahalb09 do that? We were just gonna petition for him to be let back) -
-
Thank you @rdnzlrips82 @AMslimfordy and @birdleader for all you info and help! Especially thanks for the change of password info @AMslimfordy, I would have never thought of doing as you say and I changed mine so now hopefully it will be über safe! :)
-
K thanks slim:)
-
-
Why do you think blah did it @Kathy? Doesn't sound like something either he or @Harrystar6 would ever do.
-
@kathy -- I don't think blah is responsible for any of this; it is someone else. Someone, probably on ABN has hacked Blah's and HarryStar's twitter accounts.
-
Is it only a problem related to twitter?
-
@blahalb -- I think your twitter account has been hacked. Please change your password everywhere, especially here and on twitter. I sent you a PM, but it seems to have disappeared. ABL says you created a site together, is that true? I guess you can't answer here, but try sending me a PM. Also send it to BL and Slim via About / Contact. Hope you are well.
-
Yes @PlayDBird. It is only Twitter related.
-
@PlaydBird -- As far as I know, it only affects ABN members who have twitter accounts.
-
All, we need to slow down the rhetoric regarding members being hacked. ABN has not been compromised. Even if it had, passwords are encrypted. If you're concerned about your personal account change your password via your profile.
Now, it's possible someone shared their password with another user and that same password is used on other sites like Twitter. This is a much different issue and is not hacking.
Lastly, always take caution when you receive messages from people. It doesn't matter whether they come via email, Twitter, Facebook, whatever -- just read carefully and be cautious of links. If something seems fishy just delete it and ask the person. YOU are the best defense against something happening to your accounts. Keep your operating system and antivirus up to date. -
Wow... I wish we could say that we coordinated this. But we're just that awesome.
-
Thank you to the wonderful Admins for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us out. We appreciate it as always. That's why this site is the best.
Cheers to the Admins!! -
