@surfcow -- Happy Birdday again! Glad you stopped by. Look on the bright side, if you can't eat Halloween candy, you won't gain all that weight. Most of it is pretty lousy candy anyway. But real condolences on the type 2 diabetes; not fun, I'm sure.
Hope your move is to someplace you like a lot better. -
-
@all Coffee, anyone? Gorgeous George and Frenchie Jean in their latest TV commercial:

-
@tompuss hahaahha great commercial, not sure I would go that far for a nespresso ;)
-
@tompuss -- There's no award greater for an ad company than their ad going viral! Great ad.
-
Only @mumsie could get away with calling someone a skinny cow........love it!
@tompuss I'd say more like 60/40 with the way the Frenchies smoke ;) Hope you're putting your feet up today? Depending on the day I'm having,I'd go to extreme lengths for caffeine. I think that's actually Georgie boys' lake side mansion unless I'm mistaken?
Had a very long, tiring, back aching day today so we've lined up a fright night tonight! Had fun arguing about what to watch last night so decided to have a back to back session tonight. Some good old faves like The Shinning,Paranormal activity and Nightmare on Elm Street to name a few. Going to turn the lights off,put candles on,put jammies on and eat junk food for dinner ;)
Just what the doctor ordered.
Have fun whatever you've got planned peeps!
Toodles X -
Oh BTW I never had a problem with clowns until I read Stephen Kings "It" Even then my mind couldn't comprehend a scary clown. Tim Curry changed that ;)
-
@EStar, @mvnla2, @mumsie, @JLZ666 Well, that coffee went down a treat, didn't it! What's not to like. . . * sigh*
Yes @demonlady, that's his place in Laglio on Lake Como. He also recently acquired a lovely house in Sonning in the UK, Hubz knows the village well from his childhood. Nice pix here:

Tim Curry is scary in many, many ways. heh. Fun to watch, though.
-
Going to get a telling off for lurking in a minute :(
Ahhhh yes @kelani how I wish I could post the vid for "Sweet Transvestite" That would give you your very own fright night lol ;)
Thought so @tompuss. Actually it's just dawned on me,did they use his Como place in Oceans 12? Gorg place in England but I'd rather have Italy......so will he when he's faced the weather. Nice wee weekend pad though ;)
Better scoot.

Nightly night♡ -
((Huuuuuuugs)) @kathy! I'm looking at a sleepless night and I'm watching "Paranormal Activity 3" Although in all honesty I'm freaking out so I may move on. Next in the Q is "The Shining" and that should be lite relief.......apart from the twins....oh heck, the twins.......:(
-
Arghhhh @jlz666 shut it off!!! Not the paranormal shows noooo
Even the shining is better lol except the twins *shudder,* now I'm gonna have a sleepless night too just thinking of it. My phone just froze I am typing on my nexus tablet not to bad I think:) -
@jlz666 Much too scary for me!! Never watch scary stuff! OB I'm off to bed a hot chocolate with marshmallow to go please.
-
@jlz666 -- No horror / paranormal shows for me either! I had nightmares for weeks after seeing Jaws. Just saw something about it on TV, and boy, does that shark look fake! Didn't notice when watching the movie the first and last time. I won't even read Steven King books (sp?).
-
Lol @mvnla2 I agree Jaws was pretty scary but i wouldn't consider it horror.
The Stephen king series I'm listening to is also not typical Stephen king horror The Dark Tower series is more fantasy and old king Arthur with a twist type reading . But i do enjoy his horror books although not the Hollywood versions of his books. The movies are truly terrifying and i won't watch them anymore after 'it' although 'The Stand' was good and Lean on me was o.k not really terrifying -
There was an interview with Stephen King in last months issue of Rolling Stone I haven't read it yet but i do know he hated the Hollywood version of The Shining which was totally different from the book. The ending was completely opposite.
-
Time for bed for me have a good night all

Ummmm has another pub opened? Where the heck is everyone?
Well I managed through the Shining then went on to The Exorcist which tipped me over the edge. Waking up this morning with a black cat sitting on my chest staring into my eyes didn't help lol!
@mvnla I've also seen the documentary about Jaws and it's amazing how we were so terrified! The fake shark is laughable! It's still one of the scariest films I've seen though. It never fails to have me hiding behind a cushion.
@kathy I have to admit I'm not a fan of Kings Dark Tower stuff. I tried but just couldn't get into it. I agree that a lot of his books don't cut it as movies but one that did perfectly (IMO) was Misery. Just bloody brilliant!!! I had reread that book a few times before the film came out and was dreading it but omg did they do it justice?! Absolutely perfectly cast. James Caan's facial expressions are genius! In fact I think I'll watch that tonight.
@tompuss That cat is hilarious! I could maybe see Oscar focusing like that on his hunts but Lily? Naaah, bless her, she's got the attention span of a goldfish!
OB could I have mug of spiced hot chocolate please? I'm going to curl up in @mumsies rocker for a wee while and play the last 3 Pig Day releases. Totally forgot about them.
Hope everyone over the pond are enjoying their extra hour in bed!
Have a lovely Sunday X -
@jlz666 wow you're made of stronger stuff than me. No way I could sit through a marathon of all those movies. I really don't do scary movies at all. One exception maybe is Poltergeist. It scared the crap out of me when I first saw it but now that I've seen it several times I know all the scary parts so it's just fun to watch.
Have to agree with you about Misery, that was a great movie. Every time I see Kathy Bates in anything I get the willies, thinking of her in that role.
Thanks for reminding me about the Pig Days levels, I've got some catching up to do there too.
OB a large black coffee please? Hope it's a happy Sunday for everyone :) -
@Kathy -- Yeah, I agree that Jaws wasn't a horror movie. What I really meant was that if Jaws could give me nightmares for weeks, just think what a real horror movie would do.
@all -- Is anyone else playing the Epic Event? It ends today. ATM I am still in first on my leaderboard, but an unnamed Hawaiian princess in second keeps closing the gap.
@kelani -- Are you playing in secret?
Some people on the nest have racked up unbelievable scores, like 100K. Fortunately they aren't on my leaderboard. I'm at 36K. -
Hi @karen! Well I strangely get a kick out of being scared! Although I did push it last night. I was seriously jumpy and hubby took great advantage of it ;( Turning off the bathroom light and waiting in the dark behind the door was a particular favourite :( Poltergeist was on our list but thankfully we didn't make it that far! You're right about Kathy Bates, that role was made for her!
Thanks for the poppy reminder. Must change my face next week. Have you seen the ceramic poppy display at the Tower of London? Oh my goodness it's utterly stunning! I would love to see it for real. It's really quite breathtaking. There are hundreds of thousands of poppies (one for every person killed during 1st world war) pouring out and down the walls onto the ground around the tower. I'm still having phone issues so unfortunately I can't post a link :( If somebody else could I'd really appreciate it. It's worth looking at.
Have fun flinging Karen!
Off to heat up some soup. -
Good morning @Karen68 @Jlz666 @mvnla2
@Jlz666 The exorcist !!! Are you out of your ever lovin mind !! Just thinking of it give me the willies! I agree Misery was a great movie and comparable to the book
@mvnla2 lol yes i agree if jaws frighten ed you so then any other horror movie would probably turn your hair white! -
Wow this year flew by seems like I just changed my poppy not long ago:/
-
@Kathy -- How right you are. How did you know that despite my "advanced" age, I only have a few grey hairs? I'm not kidding; drives people mad, including my hairdresser, who would love to color my hair every few weeks.
-
Lol @mvnla2 idk despite your saying your older I just don't picture you with gray or white hair guess is funny how just talking with someone over the few years you get a picture in your mind of how they might look.
-
@jlz666 here's a link to a pic - what an image. I hadn't heard about this, wow it's amazing. It would be really something to see in person. Apparently the crowds have been huge.

Hi @kathy, @mvnla2 happy Sunday! :) -
-
Hi @kathy! I thought it was obvious that I'm a few sandwiches short of a picnic? LOL!
Thank you @karen68 I actually think its bigger than that now as they add more every day. It must be a very emotional sight to behold. The last poppy gets "planted" next Sunday. Yes the crowds have been huge, especially last week when it was the English school holiday. They were telling people not to go as it was effecting the public transport system! I sadly won't see it but I always watch the TV coverage on memorial Sunday so I'm sure there will be plenty of cameras there.
@mvnla2 I also am lucky that I've not reached for the bottle. Have very dark brown hair and only a couple of grey hairs that I pull as soon as I see ;) Long may it continue!
Right I'd better get my butt off this rocking chair and cook dinner. Having our first big Sunday roast of the winter. Roast beef, roast potatoes,Yorkshire puds, veggies and lashings of gravy....yummy!! It's the perfect weather for it as it's properly dreich (good ole Scottish word) outside!
-
Mmmm @Jlz666 that dinner sounds scrumptios especially today here is rainy Actually snowy..
* poofs to Scotland fir dinner * -
Hope @Kelani is just busy today unusual to not see you for a whole day?
OB did he mention something to you? I'll have a PigKiller please got some catchin up to do -
@karen68 - I'm going down to London next week and was hoping to see them but after 12th November they will be going - they have all been sold and I believe all profits are going to Forces charities - I'm hoping there will still be a lot there on Friday but just amazing.
@Jlz666 mmm hope it's Scotch beef - the best!
@mvlna - I had hoped to be like Mumsie Senior - she didn't start going grey til her sixties whilst I'm very grey already but cannot face the thought of having it coloured so never have!
I like today's Pig Days! But Downton Abbey is on now! -
Thanks for ringing that cowbell again @Mumsie. You're keeping us first in the rankings. The Dawgs are still undefeated. Whoo Hoo!
-
@mvnla2 Am I playing Epic in secret? No. I got about 15 levels in and stopped when I saw what I was in for. I will play it eventually (I think ABN needs some of the early videos redone), but since I don't use FB, it seems like I'd be at a pretty big disadvantage.
-
-
@Kathy it will be a while. About all I have time for is the challenge and Plunder Pirates. The way I understand it, FB just speeds things up a bit., and you know how slow these games can get.
