  • Great have fun @tas!!
I'm outie have a great day everyone. :)
  • I am a gigantic STAR WARS fan, @samstyle102, and I really love AB Space, you should get it, it is really great:D
  • Um @junkenmetel that sounds like it would kill them? I don't kill stuff so I can't go there but thank you :) My battle with the snails has been going on for some time, but I think I've finally put the fear of recon kimmie into their slimy hearts!! The smart ones seem to have run for cover! However we are getting rain (I hope) today and they get over zealous so I believe another recon will go down by this weekend and off to the mulch bin they will go to secure themselves a new home far faaaar away from my fountain and garden!! :D
  • Yes @samstyle, it's a great game ESPECIALLY when you can't even look at it for forever!
  • Night @kimmiecv, dang, 4 minutes away from having 4 page changes in 6;) @kimmiepagechanger:) @theanonymoussomeone, you could play the AB original, Seasons, and Rio updates first, then get down to the good stuff and play Pig Dipper, then Hoth pt.2 and Cloud City + Boba Fett Missions:D
  • Good night @angermanagement sorry about the page change! LOL :)
  • Oh, yeah and @mvnla2, if you read back to my comment on page. 1495, then you'll see that I say that Europe is the continent, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the island (that is on that continent) and it has 4 countries on it, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland & England:) Oh and yeah, Americans get more time off than we do, we get 3 months and 1 week off in total, spread out over the year, while Americans get 3 months in Summer, 2-3 weeks in Winter and 1 week in Spring;)
  • G'night @kimmiecv:) I'm going to go for the page change on page 1500:D
  • Goodnight @kimmiecv -- oops, sorry I was over-jealous with my suggestion.

    Hi @AngerManagement, @theanonymoussomeone, @SamStyle102!

@theanonymoussomeone, I have a soft spot for Rio, but Space and Star Wars are amazing.
  • SW + Space are my favourites:)
  • @angermanagement i believe that @mvnla2 wasn't speaking about school holidays. Her comment was about vacation time for employed people.
I have total of five working week for vacation time and we have 8 days of national and religios holidays through year. My girls, who are in school, have total of 36 working weeks divided into two equal semestars. They have summer holiday and 3 weeks winter holidays. So it is pretty much of holidays for us.
  • Good morning everyone :D
@Kathy,Great job on top score! Well done! So flinging in anger is the key? Hmmmmm OK.....I can do that ;) @kimmie I know your in dreamland but OMG your misery is my lunchtime laugh! I can just picture the slimy suckers tumbling into mulch heaven :)
    @everyone have a great day!
Ok lunch over, back to work :(
  • Great. My wifi is down. Now how will I get the seemingly endless updates that I missed?
  • Don't worry, @theanonymoussomeone, things will pick up soon enough:D
  • @Angermanagement i'm not insterested in getting another AB game :(
  • @kimmiecv Snails & slugs like beer. They don't like salt because it affect them like water does to the wicked witch of the west,
  • Shame, @samstyle102, you would be really great at it, going off of your ABSW scores:D
  • @cosmo2503

I get 28days, which works out to 5 weeks pro-rata (I do a 5 day week) and 3 days. The 8 public/bank/religious holidays are factored in to that.

28 days I believe is the legal minimum in the UK.

My bro has moved to Canada, and he only gets TWO weeks paid holiday a year - and none in the first year either!
  • @kimmiecv I love you attitude "not kill creature" We never know how even that small and very annoying creature like snail feels, it must hurt them to die such cruel way like being poisoned. Well, good luck in your battle with them I hope you will clean your garden and fontain once forever.
@cmdrbond uit is pretty much same here, we do have a lot paid holidays comparing to Americans which is as I think similar in Canada.
  • @Kimmiecv -- As usual, we are on entirely different time schedules, even though we live in the same time zone, so don't feel you need to answer this. Loved your snail story, and happy that it had a happy ending for you if not for the snails.
@theanonymoussomeone -- Glad you got your nook back. I guess I would play ABSW first if you can get the latest update. (Hope you remember not to do whatever you did to become nook-less.)
  • A humbled Hunnybunny here, after all my bravado yesterday, I managed the washing, ironing, shopping and cooking. It's all a retired lady has to do. And the rest of the day? Trying to outdo Ernor63 to get to the top of the ABS bonus leader board. And how did I do? Not one single point. Nothing. At all.
  • Awww hunnybunny, sorry to hear that! But you did get all the chores done, so yeahh!
And Kathy!!! [[[hugggs]]]] my friend on the top score, way to go girl!

As for the holiday, we have 5 weeks also as a minimum (no restrictions for the amount of time spend at one company, and work 5 days, it is 5x5, work 3 like me and it will be 5x3 days), not counting the ermmm 8 sounds about right official holidays everything is closed. As for school, the kids older than 12 get 1 around februari, 2 in May, 7 weeks in the summer, 1 in the fall and 2 around christmas so that totals to 13 weeks, so also around 3 months and somewhat.
  • Hey everyone:) OB I'll take a Sunupper:) the sun is shining..beautiful day..spring is trying to spring:) ty all for congrats..and ty Kimmie for update of my favorite show The Snail Tale Recon Reality show:)
  • OMG my mind must have blanked out the whole purpose of today. To find mother in laws birthday present. He who does not fling, tried, failed, miserably. An odd underwear thing is all you need to know, especially any men of a delicate disposition.
Found it, got a lovely gift bag, tag, tissue paper to wrap it. Any thanks. No.
  • Hey, @hunnybunny, I know how you feel, I am currently 2nd in the Boba Fett Missions, and I even know where the points are to beat @leggy to the number 1 spot, but I have not been lucky enough to get them yet;)
  • @hunnybunny - now intrigued! Odd underwear thing? Vest? thong? Corset? Thermals?
Do you mean m-i- law didn't thank you or hubby? If M-i-l - meanie - if hubby why would he - isn't that why he married you! To save him the hassle?
  • Wow, 25 points away from getting my dream rocket:] It'll suit me, as I want to be an astronomer:D
  • @kimmie - I have this wonderful mental image of hundreds of snails having a meeting miles away from your fountain. They have tried to elect a leader but currently have a committee of 25 (5 containers x 5 snails left in bin). They have torches, maps, provisions and walking boots and are waiting for the GPS signal that the 5 left in the bin are going to send them, so they can set off! On the way back they will be calling on all other snails to join them in their march!
  • Hmm i just came from pm about undergarments..now that must be the subject for the day..lol @HunnyBunny happy to hear you got the present all set..:( sorry about 'he who does not fling' i got one of those too..no fun..:(
  • After a comment from @estar above, I am intrigued to know the answers to this question... Do you call it "autumn" or "fall"?
  • Oohh visions of snail armies plotting and planning by campfires..scouring maps...
  • I call it fall @angermanagement :)
  • @AngerManagement how many times does the front bit fall down on a level for maximum points, and you only need the back bit. BUT when the back bit clears the front is standing proud, with all its little, snarling, piggies intact
@Mumsie it's he who didn't thank me. He married me for my cooking I think. But it's been 30 years, so either cooking or present buying must be good:)
  • @Angermanagement we call it "herfst" LOL... I think that translate to autumn I guess, not sure, we do have a second one as well which crudely translates to "after year"
  • Snails on your side of the pond, slugs here. All waiting with maps, SatNav, knowledge of moon and sun rotations, just to get back to our lovely gardens. My beautiful peony has one and a half shoots compared to last years seven or eight. Friends I think have been called in...
  • @EStar I have Dutch relatives, we keep in touch via Facebook. Sometimes they write in Dutch, god only knows why you should try to explain it, it's a language only known to you:)
  • @hunnybunny - please tell what the odd underwear was! I'm about to go to sleep and my mind is filled with very strange images! If you've been married 30 years m-i- l is no spring chicken so......
  • @Mumsie it was two vests with bra supports, the sort of things teenagers wear. She's 77 on Monday, a size 18 (UK) Don't even try to imagine...
  • Hee hee, funny how many connections this small country can have :D You ever been to this side of the pond Hunnybunny? Not sure I understand the last part, they write in Dutch and don't explain?
  • E* - I think @hunnybunny is trying to politely say that, for those of us who are not Dutch, your language sounds like double Dutch! I.e we can't even guess!
  • Why do Americans call it Fall? Seems like everywhere else calls it Autumn??? Oh, and @hunnybunny, at least it seems as though you have a definitive strategy in ABS Bonus levels. My strategy is to try and get as lucky as other people have been;)
  • @hunnybunny!! Hee hee! Must remember this in 15 years and ask my 3 sons to get that for me!! Then tell them to thank their wives/partners! Gngb @all - off to dreamland now - snails wearing vests with bra supports on their way across country may feature strongly!
  • @E-Star I am very much this side of the pond (UK). My aunt came from a small Welsh village, and somehow Uncle Peter, from the Netherlands was posted nearby in WW2. Boy meets girl, etc. They lived in Utrecht, some cousins still do, the one I keep in touch with emigrated to NZ many years ago. But on FB I have a couple of other relatives and if they talk to me, it's English, if they talk to each other, and as a friend I can see, it's Dutch
  • Yeah IKR Mumsie, I guess it is the same for me with Russian or Chinese... know a tiny bit of french, and German I can decipher if I want, so in the surrounding countries overhere I can manage, but when I was in Poland (whooo haaa many many years ago, 20 years I think) I could not make heads or tails of it all... that is why I never would talk Dutch when we have the son and his friends over from my aunt. Think it is just plain rude to do that.
  • Same feeling here about Dutch, German and Scandinavian languages. The reason is that languages such as English (including America obviously), Italian, Spanish and French are all based on Latin, so alot of the words sound similar. While, Dutch, German and Scandinavian languages are Germanic languages, so they have completely different words. It is weird, as we cannot understand their language at all, but I saw on a survey once that those people are the best at speaking the English language...
  • @hunnybunny Ow sorry I meant the smaller pond, the Northern Sea kind of pond... but yeah sorry for the mix up... and ahhh I understand now, yeah that would be gibberish for you alright.
  • @Mumsie dream of hot Caribbean islands, a cool drink, with your best friends beside you. Snails in vests conquering the world will not lead to a restful sleep
