  • Last thought. Thanks @estar eighteen months ago I couldn't have posted a piccie on here. A little tutorial from you and @angermanagement on iPad stuff, and now I do it in seconds :-))))))
  • uhmm @kelani really? you rather play the knife game? what do you have against Seasons too hard for ya?
  • @hunnybunny wow didn't expect my request to be honored within a few minutes, thanks! And hahahahhaa yup I do know that phone.... In fact my father still uses his too, next to the iPhone. IPhone for apps and such and the Motorolla Razr for ermmmm what did we used to do with those things, owww yeah phoning people :) he loves his because it is tiny and thin, so it will easily in his pocket.
  • @kelani wow that is some strong dislike to Seasons!!

Must dash now, 1AM again sigh... I so promised myself to go to sleep at midnight with the change from 3 to 4 days and the PITA thing... O well tomorrow is a next day to try ;)

    Enjoy your evening/night @all
  • @Kathy yes, It's hard, but so are the Star Wars-es, and I don't hate them. I hate Seasons' physics. It's like throwing styrofoam birds at bubble wrapped concrete in a low-gravity environment. It's all sloooow motion like those weak grav fields in space, the birds are weak, so nothing you hit breaks. The last straw was when my bomb bird scored a direct hit on a rectangular stone block -and bounced off.

@estar I complained to you about it long ago, and you complained back at me for hating it. :) Game should be called Snoozens.
  • coming to you all from my tablet!! Phone having battery charging issues :( so please forgive if I'm slow keeping up:/ @kelani which episodes of seasons have you played ? Sounds like you got a bad impression is really fun!
  • Sooo I'm #8 in Beak 1 and #9 in Beak 2 still got some levels to work on not to bad for a first run!! Not counting the test run ;)
  • @Kathy I tried every episode, but on most I couldn't get past the 1st-2nd level. I sorta liked the one with the portals, but the rest. ugh. Bomb birds shouldn't bounce off stone, and Chuck shouldn't bounce off wood.

Not bad at all for 1st run! 'grats :)
  • O.k notification not working on tablet:/ Well @kelani I don't recall bomb bird bouncing off stone OR chuck bouncing off wood so you must be doing something wrong There..if ever the time comes and you want to give it a shot I'll gladly join ya :()
  • I can accept a lot of things happening in this world @Kelani. But one of my checks bouncing is not included among them. They're as good as gold, better even!
So you're a surrogate under my tutelage for just one day, score big, get greedy and keep the points. There goes your credibility. Great flinging though.
  • @Kathy I fling at a stone block, nail it. bird bounces off. What's to screw up? :) Then again, I couldn't even 3* the first freakin' level. I may revisit if I ever run out of other games and levels.

@Rat Funny, I don't recall any tutelage this morning :P If it makes you feel better, I'm almost out of points. Any future gains over 1k would be a miracle.
  • Hmmm wonder why notification not working? I've checked my settings. ?
  • @Kelani So you're denying all the time I spent teaching you my secrets last night too! The nerve of some people!
I'm with you on Seasons. Pixel wide solutions. Slow action. Hard to get destruction on direct hits. All together, not my favorite. Sorry @Estar. I know that's your baby.
Congratz on your flingin' Ma. Awesome run through.
  • Thanks @Pa still working on S-23 but. Not having much good luck
WWWWWWHHHHHHIIINNNNEE Oops tablet not memoruzes lol
  • @Rat I don't remember last night. Awful sleep struck again.

So it's not just me that thinks the gameplay is slow. I first thought it might have seemed that way after playing so much Space, but nope. Actually, In B1 S21, that slow motion low-gravity is almost exactly like Season to me.
  • I've only played two episodes in Seasons at any length @Kelani. So my take on it is somewhat limited. But I scored 1st and 2nd place finishes on those two episodes, "Hogs and Kisses" and "Go Green Get Lucky". So I did give them a good chance to grab me. It didn't happen.
  • @Kelani, what was your second shot on your 163K run on 8-37? That level is driving me downright crazy.
  • Who the heck is @angryyardbirds, aka Jeff Beak? He just took my top score in BI #1, 8-8. Never heard of him.
  • @Rat Surely you've yeard of the Yardbirds? Now Jeff Beak. That's a great username, :D Whoever he is, he's a guitar fan.

edit: A PC user, no less!

@fenikus Around the far right planet, top third of the grav field. Trigger around 2-2:30 and aim around the right corner of the stone plank between Chuck and the fluxcap. For me, the near-perpendicular angles worked best for blasting debris down onto the large planet, and also to avoid pushing the lavasteroid too far right.

I repeated that shot hundreds of times. Rarely, a lava chunk or debris from the 1st shot destabilizes the 2nd shot targets, which helps the later collapse.
  • @Rat on #6 is your posted strategy the same as the video? It seems to be, but figured I'd ask. :)
  • @Kelani, so you almost want to graze that rightmost piece of grass with Chuck on his way down to flux capacitor, right? Perpendicular and right/90 degree angle (like burpie said in the walkthrough) descriptions confuse me because they're ambiguous (90 degree in relation to what).
  • @fenikus Yep, mow the grass. :) I played zoomed out, so I usually aimed a bit higher (to the right) to avoid hitting it. I get the ambiguity there. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what he meant by 90 degrees. I assumed perpendicular. Oriented with the fluxcap's longer axis, that's an impossible shot. So I was flying wide and hitting it on the right side (end), which didn't work well.
  • The biggest downside of multi-platform AB: After hours of grinding, you finally improve your score! When you go enter it, you learn it's WAY lower than the one you previously posted from Platform #2. {grumble}
  • Son of a…that's almost 163K down the drain. Everything was near flattened but a little pig on the big planet miraculously survived. BTW, I think 1-birder is possible on this level but not sure it'd be high-scoring unless you get insanely lucky. Few times I had the second flux capacitor explode on the 1st shot.
  • @fenikus yeah, I got that a few times. Once even had a plank fly around the planet like Chuck and get it. I guess in theory it could be high scoring, if the fluxcap's hit in the right spot.

That left pig of the two remaining on the big planet always got me. Same with his little brother in the house on the planetoid above.
  • ohhh crap Tuesday is done! Still it's Tuesday somewhere right?WWWwwwHhhhhhiiiiiinnnnneeeee WWWwwwHhhhhhiiiiiinnnnneeeee S-23 WILL NOT COOPERATE! !!"OB I really need a something. .hmmm PigKiller i Guess thanks ;)
  • good night everyone;/ * reluctantly passes flashlight to OB for safekeeping*
    Happy Flinging All..
    Night @Pa
  • Night Ma
  • @Kelani To answer to your level six question, yes, my strategy and the walkthrough video are very similar. But although Timex and Rolex are both watches with five letters in their brand names ending in "X", I wouldn't call them the same.
  • Good afternoon guys. This is gonna be a very bad day, no soccer. I repeat, no soccer. What's left? Talking about soccer - no, not my thing.
  • @bernersenn how about tennis? It is Wimbledon time :)
To all my British flinging friends my condolences on Murray's loss. I initially didn't think he would repeat but he really impressed me through his early matches & I was now thinking he had a really good shot at it. Still, the best run he's had all year.
And I hear there's a tropical storm/soon-to-be hurricane heading up the east coast of the US, just in time for July 4th. I hope there aren't too many of you in it's path & you all stay safe!
  • @karen68 appreciate your suggestion. But tennis? It's not my thing. No goals, the net between the players instead of behind them. No, just kidding, for those who love tennis: enjoy.
btw, congrats with your puppy - was working on it.
  • See you later @all
  • @kelani that's good news, I hope it stays on it's current track, although are you still expecting some rain from the outer edges?
How many hurricanes has your poor lighthouse suffered through? It still looks like it's in good shape.
Thanks @bernersenn - I wouldn't be surprised to see more puppies, I came really close to the top score a few times before beating it.
  • @kelani haha he seriously told you to correct your spelling? Did you do the honourable thing & correct it? :D
I'm vaguely aware of the new anti-spam law, but I figured it would only apply to Canadians. Didn't realize it would benefit others in other countries. That's great.
Had to google your geography to see what the Outer Banks looked like - they really are out in the ocean. Amazing it's still there. There can't be many more places to move it.
  • @Karen68 He seriously did, which was funny because mrs. @hunnybunny did the same thing last week :) I said something like "wow, I thought Americans were the undisputed champions of 'Right way=MY way'". Of course, I'm not changing it! Part of why America exists was to get away from those unnecessary letters! :)

Yep, those islands are way out there. Some of them are so close to sea level, it's literally Ocean - House - Street - House - Ocean. The fact that land won't exist in 50-100 years hasn't stopped people from paying a fortune for it.

Eventually, I guess they'd tear the lighthouse down and move it to the mainland. That'd work for another 200 years or so :)
  • Well, it worked 2 days ago on #13, so I'll try it again.. *ahem*

    Man! I don't think PC can score higher than 114k on #7! {assorted griping}
  • @kelani two things:
Dishonorable or dishonourable, matters not, the "group of murderous torture-happy extortionists" have no honour. Just ignore some stuck up Brit (I know you will anyway)I just corrected your spelling, not your judgement
I love the light house, it looks like a helter skelter
  • @Kelani, how do you get chastised on IMDB? Were you writing an entry on someone/something or doing a user review?
  • Wow, the weather is so oppressive here yesterday and today that I had to get my lazy butt out there last night and fix my central AC system. That's saying a lot.

Edit: My HVAC guy, Carl, didn't return my calls for some reason.
  • hi everyone :)
@kelani I love that lighthouse! ! and ya @hunnybunny what's helter skelter about it?
@Karen68 hope your weather is holding out. today is unbearable hot worse than yesterday. not sure if we well get hit with the hurricane but I'm surprised that @kelani and @rat9 will not.
@bernersenn Why no soccer ? is it over? did someone win the Cup?
    OB I'll have a PigKiller please; )
  • @fenikus btw, I was very active in IMDB when it was first launched. Even did some scripting and web design. I quit when they changed their listing policy, which made them remove my only two acting credits. :(
  • @Kelani, the wiring by the compressor area (for the capacitor and booster) is on the fritz. I did some MacGyver-ing to make it work but will have to completely rewire everything soon (read when the weather gets cooler).

But now that I got it working my zones are not working correctly (I have 3). This is an old problem that I've been ignoring because I use my AC only rarely -- when it gets unbearable. If you know anything about that let me know and I'll PM ya.
  • Too....hot.....ta..fling... Must...re..treat....inside.
  • yes Pa I hear ya!! my A.C is working thank goodness! !
