  • OB, I'll be needing a double shot margarita, please. It's pretty warm tonight and I need something to numb my mind, haha!

Well @everyone, I'll be MIA for awhile, going to get some surgery done in the morning. So, I'll be back when I'm not sleepy or my brain isn't woozy from the pain meds I'll be needing.

Have a great Tuesday, and get those WHINEEEs in to bring you luck!

Happy Flinging @all, see you later!

    ♥♥♥
  • @SweetP And yet another thing I didn't know about. :-/
I trust all will go well! See you later!
  • @Burpie, @SweetP, @Estar. Back when I first started using a TENS unit they were new technology. Now they're almost as common as aspirin. I always found them more of a distraction, than a solution. But when you're in pain, a distraction ain't half bad. Using one for labor seems a little overly optimistic. lol
  • Good Mornin' everyone !! Have a great WWWwwwHhhhhhiiiiiinnnnneeeee Tuesday! !
  • @Burpie -- I assume you know what the AK-47 was for, right?
  • @sweetp Only a couple of the closest friends here at the nest know/knew about it. So don't feel left out, I think there are tons and tons more nesters plus real life family and friends that haven't had a clue the Star was shining less bright than usual.
As to the TENS, thanks for the info, but until I feel I have definitely ruled out anything other than nerves and muscle issues, I will keep to the PT and the docs prescriptions. Don't want to mix all kinds of things to much as it will give a wonky diagnosis. I believe I already had (hopefully so one problem will be history soon) two things at the same time and it didn't help the process on bit mixing all the symptoms in one neat little bundle.

@burpie thanks for the link I will look into it... LOL does your machine have all the part still in tact? Or did she rip the whole thing apart in the process... wow, never been there and if all goes according to plan, I never will and by the sound of it, nope still not persuaded ;)

And did I read it right??? @rat yawned!!!??? noooo way! well hoped it was one long and good powernap or maybe even a short but almost feeling like a nights sleep??
  • time for me to head home!! yeahhh...
Didn't see the new page, so by the looks of the time between posts... a powersnooze at best for @rat :(
  • Your right @Estar. That was a good long powersnooze. Whoopie!!
  • Home, on the couch, waiting on the cook to finish diner :p
Bah @rat I was hoping you would be enjoying some more of what we call sleep by now. I can not imagine not being able to sleep for less than 6 hours by choice of the body (sure I can manage, or should I say could manage on 5 hours if needed, but no alarm clock means 6 to 7 hours for me).
  • @Estar Until the age of thirty-five, when my head hit the pillow, I was out till morning. But for the last couple of decades, if I get more than two hours, I consider myself lucky. I got three this morning, hence the "Whoopie".

I'm a little disappointed that six of the puppy winners didn't stop by and pick up their puppies. It seems they didn't like your helpful reminder to post a picture @Mvnla2. At least one took umbrage at being called out by name and rebelled. What did he call you? The self appointed puppy police? It did seem a little firm for the wordsmith that you are. It sounded more like something I would say. Ha ha ha ha You need to get a badge with the letters SAPP on it. You can go on SAPP patrol.
  • @rat9 I'm anti-declaw as well. esp. since I learned it's actually like amputating the first joint of your finger, not a simple fingernail removal. But, in Swipe's case it had to be done. :( Take your left hand. Add a finger outside your pinkie, then add a half-finger between your index and thumb. Now add non-retractable claws on all the extra digits and try to walk on carpet. Poor lil guy would run, get hung up and flip over on his back, or be climbing his kitty tree and get snagged. Many times I came home from work to find him hanging there like that famous 'sh...tuff happens' photo. That's why I only got him frontally declawed, I call him a rear-wheel drive cat, cause he still makes GREAT use of those.

re: my altruistic strategy post. All I can say is next time that happens, you're on your own :)

@all Wow, I had no idea there were so many TENS experts here. Maybe that's a sign.

@e-star These guys are spot on. For neural pain, they work great. Childbirth? not so much. lol. @burpie is lucky he's still alive. I had untreatable chronic mystery pain awhile back and nothing helped. Eventually, my doc just started giving me the same meds as end-stage cancer patients. Then one day, my PT said "Did you ever try a TENS unit?" They loaned me one, I used it 20 mins, 2x day. After 3 days, pain was gone. I told my mom and she said my dad also got results with one during all his long stays at the VA hospital. Go figure

Here in the US they cost from $70 used to $300 new. The suppliers usually let you try it for a few weeks first. That's great if @rat9 has one you can try. Technically, it's illegal to give a Rx device away, but there are hundreds of used ones for sale all over the net, so I guess nobody cares. Just tell Rat to list his return address as Bob Saget, or some other person the world doesn't need.

If you go to your PT, ask him/her about them. A PT would teach you how to use one after a doctor prescribes it. :)

@SweetP I'm glad I made ya smile during such an awful day. I'm sorry you lost all your scores because of idiots. If it was me, I'd march back to the store, grab my old phone and tell 'em they'll get it back when I finish doing their job for them! :( like @burpie said, unless they wiped the card, the data should still be there somewhere. If so, I don't think you'd have any trouble sweet-talking some phone hax0r into retrieving it for you :)

  • @rat9 You noticed that response too? I told @mvnla2 it was the rudest, most uncalled-for remark I've seen in a long time.

Wow, it's sure not hard to find my posts in here. I type too much.
  • Yeah, it was rude @Kelani. But I still ROTFLMAO.
  • @Kelani You can get away with laughing at rudeness when you're a, what did you call it, cer...cir...curmudgeon. Nobody pays attention to half the stuff you say.
  • Keep it up @Kelani. I enjoy your well thought out novellas. As for me, I'm the master of the one word response.
  • Went to your album looking for a picture of Swipe @Kelani. All I found was a cute picture of a dog named Patty. Then I noticed you state he's a yapper in the caption. When I looked back up at his picture, all I saw was a mop head with eyes. I hate yappers.
  • @rat9 yes, but if you don't look curmudgeonly, you tend to get a beatdown :)

I envy the one-word response. Back in college, I did technical writing for food money. I dunno how, but my brain got stuck in that mode and I can't get it out.

Maybe I can use your TENS unit as a TCNS unit. (Bzzzzt brain zap.) If you put it in the right spot, it can temporarily make you a great marksman and artist. Wrong spot, you just start walking funny

My God that dog has a mouth. Lotta power in that fat little body. She's also defiant. I am not a light sleeper, but I've worn earplugs every night since she arrived. I've been meaning to take my decibel meter out and measure when she gets cranked up. She'll be 200 feet away, facing away from me, while I'm in a closed underground basement, with a house, dirt, 2 brick and 1 cinderblock wall between us and she's still loud enough to make me jump, which is bad when sharp tools are involved.

Swipe pix come when I can get him to sit still. If there's not ear skritches or treats involved, he has better things to do.
  • @kelani thanks for giving some extra info on the experience of the TENS, I. Will sure ask it tomorrow. I need to make a list what to ask her, I tend to forget all the questions the minute I walk thru a door... Thats right... Can be any door LOL

Just paid patty a visit too... Ermmm yup I am familiar with the sound, my father in law had two of them, wowwwwzers they can be loud for sure. Hope to see Swipe soon, bonus if it is the ssh...tuff happens kind Hahaha
  • Ow and as much as I love mister @rat for offering it to me, the voltage is totally different over here, so it would take care of my problem along with the whole house I guess hahahaha. Also sending stuff from the states to dutchieland is pretty expensive, maybe even more than the cost of the device itself. If the PT thinks it could help me, I am sure I can lend one from the healthcare system over here or buy one.
  • Oh good, it's Tuesday.

Was Seasons designed to be so difficult? It's like every piece is styrofoam coated in bubble wrap. Bomb bird regularly bounces off single blocks. White bird's eggs don't even knock the shine off wooden planks. Red has the same power as a low-velocity spitball.

I wish Rovio would release a Birds of Prey upgrade, to give 'em some muscle. I bet Hawks, Falcons, Vultures and Penguins could put a dent in some of those levels..

@e-star lol. Yeah I don't think your house needs treatment :) Actually, the ones I've seen all used a 9-volt battery. It's uses a very small amount of current.

There's not much you need to ask beyond 'Would it help me?", and "Can I try one?" They may even have one there at the office to do a quick test. I'm glad you're gonna ask about it. It'd be great if such a simple thing could fix you up.

So you're a yappy dog veteran? I don't envy you. The worst was when my neighbor had 8 Shih Tzus. Patty thinks she's the dog operator, so she acts like she needs to pee, but really wants to go start a conference call. :) My other names for her are Barkarella, Yaptastic, Puppy Butt and Useless, since other than being cute, that's what she is :)
  • @kelani watch you mouth!! Nobody touches my beloved Seasons *puts on evil eyes and tries not to burst in laughs* no really I agree with all you say, but if new powers would be unleashed, my top rank would be in jeopardy not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of videos I put all my time and effort in these last 3 years would be meaningless... So Rovio disregards @kelanis wish... Thank you!

I hope the health system over here is as easy as your kelani, but I am not holding my breath just yet. But yeah I would be jumping from joy if a simple fix is out there soon.
  • Luckily my father in law lives on the other side of the country (225km), so not to many ear ringing treatments for me from the yappy dogs. Although I ones woke up and thought I heard one of them (he had two!!)
  • @e-star Uh oh, I'm in trouble now! *runs and hides* :) Nah, we wouldn't all your hard work to be in vain. I swear between leaderboards and all those videos, you put more work into AB than I did on my first album! That reminds me, I wanna hear more about your AB on 2 ipads ability. I can do PC + ipad, but nothing special about that. :)

That "I hope our health system is as easy as yours" comment... It HAS to be better! Ours is beyond awful! In my state just this year, 28 doctors and dentists left for Europe because they couldn't afford the liability insurance. Some doctors even tell patients with long-term/expensive illnesses to move to England or France for the free health care.

The best example is @rat9 Now, there's someone who should be in a padded room! but no, here he is, walking the streets. :)

@rat9 that's for all your earlier comments. Pick one :)
  • Grr. A long time ago there was a youtube video of me playing fetch with Swipe. I threw his ball and he chased it, slipped on the tile floor and plowed into my big keyboard flight case, which he was supposed to jump over. Insert 30 sec. of crackheadesque giggling. I wish I could find that.
  • @SweetP- hope everything goes ok tomorrow - let us know as soon as you can.
    @rat - curmudgeon ? You? @kelani obviously doesn't know about the tutu!
@e-star - hope your physio terrorist does you a power of good!
@kelani - I'm sure that you will continue being altruistic with your strats - it's in your nature - look at Swipe! And keeping Patty despite having to buy earplugs!
Mumsie settles herself in her rocking chair, picks out some fantastic yarn from the yarn bins and starts on the next batch of dusters. OB I think I'll have a G &T please, somewhat tired after my third round of golf in 3 days but at least it didn't rain today!
  • @kelani The key to mastering those technique is having an ever so understanding partner than provides the nutritional needs of the body, 2 or more idevices, a preferably padded place (devices may fly across the room in the first weeks of practicing) and some secret (sorry this star needs to keep her edge) body and muscle exercises. Hmmm maybe need to clue the PT in this secret, maybe there lies the key to solving my issue ;)
  • Ha ha ha ha ha ehhhh...
  • @kelani Yeah yeah go and tease us with an even bigger bone... A mysterious video you can not seem to find of the illusive kitty Swipe ...
  • Hi Mumsie!! You survived the rain and 3 days of golf! LOL I didn't want to bust @rats ball and mention the tutu just yet... He just got a new fwiend ;)
  • Awww @sweetp I am sorry, I never saw your comment from this morning, but good luck with the surgery. Hope it is a minor one and it will be an easy and quick fix!
  • Ow and I do believe our health system is a good one, always tricky to compare because I don't even know all the ins and outs of ours and only have second/third/forth hand information about yours, but I am very happy about the fact ours is semi free (we all pay a standard fee and a portion of our paycheck) and gives us the guarantee of basic but to my knowledge pretty wide range of treatments. If wanted, one can pay extra for extra coverage for treatments such as non chronic PT, when PT is needed for a chronic issue it is covered in full by the basic coverage) Okay I am not happy I also have to pay the first 350 euros myself and because I do have a job and pay my bills on time I don't get extra support from the government. But basically it keeps the large bills of surgery at bay.
  • @SweetP -- You've got enough problems to last a month all in the same week. Hope the surgery goes well, and hope you can recover your AB progress. Reminds me that I'm way overdue for a backup. : (
@Kelani and @Rat -- I hope I'm not easily offended, and have found that I'm all too likely to be the offender when I didn't intend to be. I think Rat agrees that it wasn't the best choice of words on my part. I guess he doesn't know my history of offending people unintentionally. In the case of the SAPP, I think the complaint was legitimate. In the case of the puppies, I just assumed everyone was interested in getting the badge, and getting as many puppies as they could.
@Mumsie -- Tues is my golf day, and I wouldn't have minded some cooler weather. I think it was ~85 F when we finished.
  • OB gently takes Mumsie's knitting needles out of her hands, takes her glasses off and puts them away in her bag, covers her with a blanket and rings @Kathy to come as soon as she can to 'poof' Mumsie home to bed.
  • Hey everyone; ) sorry really just read the last 2 pages. .but i can't possibly rremember and respond to all..
The Tens thing sound interesting would it help with chronic back pain? @rat9
I'll have to look into it..
Also can't wait to see pics of Swipe @Kelani:) I used to have a kitty with double paws as well but he could retract his nails so no need to declaw. I also dizaggre with declawing but sounds like you really didn't have a choice for swipes sake.
@mvnla2 I didn't read the post , but I'm sure you werent rude and didn't deserve someone being rude to you. In my book if you suggested that a requirement to get a puppy was posted you were probably trying to be helpful in your 'matter of fact'way ;)
@e-star I do again express my best hope that the pt can help..maybe the Tens thing could be an option:)
@Sweetp :( awww hun believe me I feel your pain..it all depends on the phone switch. The first time i lost progress so on next phone switch I was very hesitant but it went fine..third phone switch. .not so much..Then THEN I brought a phone in for repair.. actually my current one and the Stupid (helpful) stupid girl did a factory reset and wiped out all progress for the Yep THIRD time! ! Anyway at the least you have your scores on the board so you know what to work towards.
And Abo and Sw have the cloud so those should be easy to restore;) good luck
I hope all went well today♡♡♡
    O.k OB i need a PigKiller please; )
  • Very very gently *poofs * @Mumsie home to bed..tucks her under her snuggie..
  • I perused your challenge picks @Kelani. I didn't understand your Danger Zone picks. It's been a while, but I didn't remember two different designators. D & S ????
Whoo hoo! You only hit two of my top scores. Correction: Three.
  • Aw, was trying to regain my Short fuse 1st place. Got what I thought was 2nd w/ 209,990 then saw 2 more people hopped up there post-challenge. :/

Yes, I'm still playing that stupid level. :)
  • That's ok Robert @Kelani. A particular level will get under your skin occasionally. You know you can do better. Why doesn't the score reflect that? DZ-1 and DZ-30 were two that got me. I had 1st in both until someone knew they could do better on DZ-1. I never went back. I could lose a day on that one. If your first name is Robert, why are we calling you Ken and Kent? Wait a second...I thought there were three people with scores over 210k? How can you be in second with 209K?

Edit: You thought you got second. Oh! See, you're not the only one that kept playing. You have company in your misery.
  • You've come to the right place with your problem @Kelani. If you'll let me, I can talk you down off your obsession with AB 27-14. We've all been there. If not me, there's a forum called Angry Birds Anonymous. They've got a lot of experience with this problem. First, take a deep breath and repeat after me...There is more to life than flinging.
  • lol. yeah yeah yeah, whatever you say. Those words coming from you are like temperance preaching coming from a moonshiner. :P

I'm also working on Pig Dipper 11, which happens to be one of our ties :)

    Woot. Just broke 210k/ #2

edit: no way. I just got a complete level clear on 27-14. No debris at all, but only 196k. That's an annoying first.

edit #2: just saw previous msg. The only reason this level's under my skin is because I had the high score, and gave it away like free candy. :) Pig Dipper 11 is another, Utopia 2, Rio High Dive golden chest, and pig Bang 1-8.

We call me Kel or Kent because my parents in their infinite wisdom didn't consider the lifetime crap caused by making me go by my middle name. Any time I'm asked "what's your first name?" or see "print your first name, middle initial" on a form, I have to give the same explanation. Whenever you see someone sign their name like, F. Lee Bailey, H. Ross Perot, or J. Allen Hynek, etc.. it's cause their parents did the same thing.

Even so, it beats being named Kent Robert.
  • Do you really get 10 points for logging in here? Man... I've stayed logged in since I joined.
  • @Kelani even if you stay logged in you get the 10 points every 24 hours . It doesn't neccasarily happen at midnight though maybe @Amslimfordy can explain it better; )
  • @Kathy that works, too. :) I got it, and I don't wanna bug him anymore this week. Last night I requested a new feature that he politely showed me already existed.

Now, If it was 5 to login, and 10 to post strategies, I'd really be somebody :P
  • Just a quick pop in from me... been out all day. Anyway, I had another visit with the terrorist and she found 2 other muscles to bombarded with her strong hand (she is freakishly thing, but man is she strong in her hands!). I feel sore and bruised so no telling if it helps. I have two more apps next week. Hopefully I will show signs of improvement soon... again, me impatience?! LOL

Ow and the TENS is probably not something for me (hopefully). I did ask the PT and she explained what the device does. if true it seems @burpie was not far off... it literally is a distraction!! It seems it just distracts the nerves sending the pain signals to the brain by sending it pulses to that nerve. So it will relieve one from all the pain signals for a little while, but the underlying issue is not addressed by it. Because I am still in the trying to find and address the issue, she doesn't recommend the use of it. It is more suited for people with chronic pains that can not be solved otherwise and the patient just needs a little break. if this is true I do not know, but my logical wired brain does think this explanation makes sense and therefore I will hold off on the idea of the TENS. But I do want to thank you all for telling me and I am glad I asked.

@kelani I love Swipe! I bit "watcha want!?" and "why are you bothering me??" face, but I loved watching them. Thank you for taking them and showing us the famous "He come back and take me home Swipe"
I also am intrigued by the Superscratcher... I think our Jaapie would love that too! Ow and I believe you asked about the name Jaapie... nope it doesn't mean anything. it comes from the Dutch name Jaap. It is derived from Jacob I think. We Dutchies put "ie" at the back of a name or word to make it sound small... Don't believe English has this attribute to stick something at the end of a word to make it a small version of the word. But when we want to make it sound little… like star … we just attach a couple of letters (usually "tje" or with names "ie") and it is still one word… English puts "little" in front of it to make it clear it is smaller than a normal star… Not sure if this makes any sense hahahahaha but there you go!

And on that note, it is time for me to leave again, 0:30 over here so time to hit the hay :D

night night everybody... or in the case of the othersiders... enjoy the afternoon and evening!
  • @Estar In the great scheme of things what I'm going to say is about as important as a speck of dust. And I know English is a second language to you. So my apologies for bringing it up, but it's bugged me since I read it. In the above message, third paragraph, right after "I love Swipe", you say "I bit". I understand the jest of what you're saying, I think, but can't for the life of me make heads or tails of the word "bit". I should be able to figure out what word you're trying to use but I'm totally lost. I realize you've gone to bed for the evening @Estar, so it's going to bug me all night. If anybody has a guess or knows what she said, please help me. It's strange how something so insignificant can get stuck in your cerebral cortex. Sorry @E*. I hope I didn't add to your pain. Maybe if I add "ie" to "bit" it will become a smaller problem for both of us.
