Bad Piggies Road Hogs Level R-6 Walkthrough

Bad Piggies Road Hogs Level R-6 requires a time of under 70 seconds to earn 3 stars, or 80 seconds to earn 2 stars. The Road Hogs levels are pure time trials and, in general, are very challenging. Our contraption two turbo engines, an airplane propeller, and a tail. This level requires a bit less precision, but you see need to pay attention to your engine toggling. Only one path to follow, so try to keep airtime to a minimum as you blaze your path to glory!

If you have a different strategy for completing this level feel free to leave a comment below.

Alternative High Speed Solution

Similarly to level R-1, this contraption uses five metal frames, three engines, two airplane propellers, two yellow tail fins, and both umbrellas. You will fly this vehicle to the finish line by carefully toggling the engines. Thanks to ianxofour for sharing this ingenious approach.

The three stars in the video below was achieved in 00:59:28.

Until I got stuck at 1’11 on this level, I hadn’t even thought of using the airplane tail. It makes an enormous difference. I personally prefer using four boxes rather than three and putting the drive wheel in the front, but it really doesn’t matter that much as long as you have the stabilizer on the back.

Same method as I posted under R1 can be used here, but it’s the most difficult of the RH levels. You need to take off att precisely the right angle and timing engine cut is difficult. You need sufficient altitude to clear the two high obstacles but still enough angle to get a decent horizontal speed. As a rule of thumb, if you clear the first obstacle at about 16-17 s you’re OK.

My best time: 00:36.93.

Got 49.99 using @f91jsw‘s method, but boy, is it difficult.

I got a good time with this strategy, the engine cutoff time was about 27 1/2 seconds, a bit harder than the first level since it’s totally blind. When I landed on the flag, I have to say the impact seemed like it should be impressive…maybe they can add smoking rubble in a future update?

By using @f91jsw ‘s method I’ve got 47.89 secs. Thanks :)

Thanks for making a video for sharing my approach! It’s an honor!

My method from R4 works here too. Just did 42.06, but overshot the landing and had to wait for it to bounce down the rocks. Probably a time of 35s is as fast as you’ll get with this method.

It’s worth noting there’s some scenery off-screen just before the two tunnel sections, if I hadn’t cleared them the first time and shot off the right of the screen, I wouldn’t have thought it possible because I hit it the next 10 goes and rained down parts.

This is the video from R4, I may make another from here, but at least this shows what to make and the method. You need a slightly steeper angle to get over the off-screen scenery.

@MattOG — Got 34.59 with your method, and crashes before the finish line, with pig bouncing over, so definitely faster is possible. Again, waited for craft to tilt to right after liftoff, so I’m sure this adds a few extra seconds, also.
Have you been able to get anything to work on r-1 and r-2 (or whatever the second flying one is)?

I did 33.54 with this method. I landed maybe ten “box widths” short of the finish line so sub 33 s should be possible.

My best time with my original strat was 36 s but I hadn’t tried to optimize it so I’m not sure which is the fastest.

I got 36.79s with @mattog method and 43.45s with @f91sw.

Nice design MattOG!

I just used this on R6 and timed it to perfection to achieve a time of 30:79!!

See the link..

Can’t see anything beating that tbh!

MattOG you are a genius. Awesome strat. Under 33 for me. Now if you could design something so great for RH5. It making me crazy.

How about a best time without flying?

I managed 1′ 08 seconds with this roadster

Car control is paramount though, and difficult!

I like the idea of non-airplane carts as well. Mine do have back wing though but they dont fly very far at all (i’ve found machines without wing to be veyr hard to control).
I’ve done 1.06.xx with several configurations.
All of those are fairly easy to drive (needs careful throttle control though). Springed versions are also a lot of fun.

I managed 106.01 with this machine.

Using two propellers underneath for downforce. Only the wheels provide forward motion, thus it is more like a true car than others,(although a tail fin is still required).

It sticks to the ground like glue – fun to drive!

Just did 105.s. Not sure it is possible to go faster with a purely driving contraption.

Same method as above but with an extra wooden box above the pig with the petrol engine, and the two electric motors at the front. The lighter the front the better it will stick to the road!

By Rob

Just went 102.22 with a few tweeks! On the road all the way – no forward propellers, only tyres.

By Rob

Best time 29.92 – and that’s flying through the tunnels and not cheating by skying piggy and lucking out with timing engine cut off.

From the back on the top row of the grid going forward – Metal tail, metal box+V8, metal box+V8, Spring, wooden box+Pig, wooden box+engine.

Then underneath the front wooden box place another two wooden boxes down with the electric motor and the last engine inside. Put a propellor on the top and bottom front boxes. Make a launching platform for it.

Superfast. Is this time beatable? – 27.47s

Using modification of above with rocket sledge launcher. Fire the blue rocket, then red, and then start up the engines.

Great method – just did 26.83! Flying all the way through the tunnels. Changed the launcher to add a fourth rocket and a crate of TNT to give an extra kick if timed right.

I love how many “ideal” machines people come up with for these levels. If there was one solution that was clearly superior, that would be unfortunate.

I’ve had the best success on R1/R4/R6 with a 3-wooden-block plane. Wooden tail fin, 2 V8 engines, 2x propellers — one forward, one on top of the “front” end of the plane for lift. Then, two fans for hover-support underneath where wheels would normally go.

Not as fast as the crazy rocket-suicide crafts that go over the tunnels rather than through them … but less luck-based, too. Faster than the “Alternative High Speed” machine in the video above (but probably harder to drive). But easier to fly than some of the other setups that have been presented, such as Rob’s!

With this setup, I’ve gotten:
22.81″ on R1,
40.07″ on R4,
44.79″ on R6.

By Rob

Ah, well I didn’t say it was easy to fly:-) Nascar or easy to drive granny cart , take your pick.

By LouCypher

I could finish in 00:54.60 with this setup. It’s easier than any other setups.

I found a way to beat pretty much anyone. I got a record of 28.06, but times below that are possible. Its very hard to fly my device.. and it goes through the tunnels. I think i can get to 25 seconds. Ill upload picture when I break therecord. The vehicle is 3 woode boxes , 2 props , 2 v8’s , and the pig in the middle. Try finding my way to do it ;)

By Angry Pig

Here’s a cheap flying strategy for 1, 3, 4, and 6

*Row 1: Nothing, nothing, propeller
*Row 2: Wooden tail, wooden box w/ V8, wooden box w/ pig, propeller
*Row 3: Nothing, tiny wheel, tiny wheel

Apply glue/engines as needed.

This tiny vehicle requires you to hold down the right propeller, but you have to turn on/off the up propeller to maintain stability. I got 52.02 sec on this thing!

Another flying strat. I got 1:00 to 1:05, but almost anyone could do better. This thing is super stable. All you have to do is zoom out and keep the thing between the two clouds in height and you fly right through the tunnels.

Very long-spaced toggling of prop keeps it level and moving forward.

X=blank
All boxes are metal.

X, Metal Box, Metal Tail Backwards, X, X,
Yellow Tail, V8, Pig, V8, Prop
X, Power wheel, X, Tiny metal wheel, X,

Oops, typo. Top row Metal Box has a Belt Engine in it, not empty.
