Sweet! Are these new levels, or just old ones from the original game? Also, does the episode selection screen look like that image, or did you guys make that?

scattered levels from the paid game, it looks like that in the game

Yea i agree it looks bunched up 2gether maybe they will keep the planets apart

The thing is, I can’t see the score, because a TIE fighter is in the way, which makes me think that it’s fake, since Rovio wouldn’t cover up the score like that.

Also, the score is 505050. :\

@Dorito ROVIO said it themselves that they released it, probably a glitch

Amazing Alex ad keeps appearing. Maybe they need to advertise AA cause it’s not doing so well…

@joeyba they are free to advertise their games as they want. Amazing Alex add in game pause doesn’t necesserly mean it is not doing well in stores. Desen’t add for ABSW appear in every single AB game and isn’t ABSW top game in iTunes and Google Play Stores?

Interesting about this download is that notification was not automatic, one has to search for the app and the download it to the iPhone or iPad. NIce they provided a sample from each area of SW.

@wrw01:

this download is that notification was not automatic

I don’t understand. It’s a completely new app. What would be automatic?

Rank: Sling God with 67720 points
By wrw01 (@wrw01)

The App Store did not provide notification that a download was present with a number in the top right corner of the App Store Icon which has usually been the pattern. I understand this is not an update to a present app.
I had to go into the App Store and type in “Angry Birds Star Wars Free” into the Search box in order to find the app and down load it.
I find that interesting because the App Store has traditionally automatically notified me when a download, even a new app like the full version of Star Wars, comes out and it is there with the “number in the icon” to alert me when a download is available. I did not have to search for that app.
Not sure if I am explaining this correctly but it seems a break in the App Store pattern of notification. I did receive a notification when AB Star Wars came out from the App Store that it was available for download.

You must have a very different app store than I do. That number you refer to means that there is an update to an app that you ALREADY have.
Since this is a new app there would be no notification at all; you would have to do what you described – search for the new app and download it.

There is nothing wrong with what you described happening – this is exactly the way it should have been. Existing apps on your device get a notification symbol – new ones do not.

As PlayDBird said, there is no logical way for the AppStore to alert you that a brand new app has been released to the AppStore. Otherwise, everyone with an iOS device would receive thousands of alerts daily. It only alerts you to updates for installed existing apps.

@wrw01 others answered your question and I agree all update alerts from iTunes Store are for games you have installed on your device while I am not sure that they alert about updates for purchased games (applications) that you remove from device but still keep in iTunes.
Other question is if Rovio advertise that free version is available (on game pause screen).

I wouldn’t think that you would get a notification for a game app you uninstalled, as the tracking variable would, of necessity, have been deleted during the uninstall process. Thus anything pushed from the appstore about a specific app update has nowhere to go. I don’t think that iTunes counts, as far as notifications go.

Now, here’s my beef about the app: while I understand about the need for ads in the free version to push sales of the full version, I don’t find it necessary to have any such entreaty actually interrupt game play, as this one does. In fact, I consider it somewhat irritating, and rather rude, to be perfectly honest, especially since this app is studded throughout with hot spot links you can tap, to purchase and install the full version. So much so, it’s a question as to how long I might have this app installed on my iPad.

The ads are so frequent and annoying that I can’t see playing this any further. I understand there’s a give when something is free, but this is a bit much.

O M G – that Amazing Alex ad is sick – it appears constantly and lingers for far too long. This app is not going to be long on my device.

Will there eventually be leaderboards set up for this app like there are for most of the other free apps?

Rank: Pig Leader with 10760 points
By PdB (@playdbird)

I was wondering that also. Most of the other free apps have unique levels. Space Free, like Star Wars Free, does not, and I don’t believe there is a LeaderBoard for Space Free. I haven’t really looked, however.

Rank: Sling God with 32120 points
By AMslimfordy (@amslimfordy)

Haven’t decided yet.

Space Free is identical to Space, except just limited in quantity, so we will not do a leaderboard there. This reminds me of Rio Free (almost identically) so its a maybe.

Honestly, I am not sure that Rovio really need to offer free versions of their games. They have great success with ABO and everything coming from them is instantly accepted by fans. Were we not waiting for ABSW 40 days?
But anyway for new fans or for Star Wars fans that are not already familiar with Angry Birds this is nice gift from Rovio.

Star Wars Free is great if you were on the fence about buying the full version, but the full version is Awesome. Rovio just tickling their buying feathers I guess! May the Force be with us…Everyone!

Totally agree I would never hesitate a second to buy game from Rovio (Zepto Lab and Disney too). Rovio’s game gives back each dime in such playing pleasure.

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but just saw a commercial for an Angry Birds Star Wars type of game/toy thing and says it has a code to unlock special content in Angry Birds Star Wars

Buying AB:SW merchandise may contain codes which can unlock a small number of Mighty Millennium Falcon uses.

I really love this app but having a hard time of 3-starring one level of the Hoth chapter.
