One strategy for Red Planet level 5-2 is to launch a Red bird into the wooden spheres of the north tower. Some block should fall to the right onto the steam geyser, which in turn will send debris flying up and to the right destroying the south tower.

55060 one bird. Strategy: aim at the wooden balls shooting up. Some of the debree should hit the lower tower, some should get the flying pig, and the rest should take care of the bubble pigs (not necessarily in that order).
Pretty challenging to get a 1 Birder and a good score at the same time IMO. Fun level though and the steam geysers are awesome :)
Tried more than 30 times yet failed to replicate the result, the 1st strike just won’t trigger the far tower to fall.
aim the red bird the same as the video and let lady luck take over. This took 30 minutes of mindlessly launching the bird in the same spot over and over and over again until it gave me the score. i love this game, but when rovio puts in levels that involve luck, i can’t stand it.
Agreed, as I finally able to replicate it. It’s all in the chances – I’d say a “90% luck, 10% skill” here.
The strategy guide should adjust the wording to include something like “a large dose of luck is required, but rest assured it has a better odd then buying lottery”.
Same shoot as video, falling stone killed pigs in southern tower. Score – 5643 (so far).
I aimed it at the point where the ball and the pillar it rests on meet, so a lot of the top tower falls down into the blower.
I almost wish the wood pieces were incinerated in the blower blast. At least then I wouldn’t feel like I was watching great scores get blown into outer space.
One bird Strategy : just aim at the wooden balls, the debris with the help of steamer will take care of all others.
If you hit the wooden balls at the very top 8 out of 10 times you will get a one birdie above average score. I’ve gotten several 37K+ scores. The red bird hits at the top of the wooden balls and one of the wooden balls go right, along with wood debris and will get sucked into the geyser and atleast get the bubble pig. sometimes even the blue antenna ice ball goes too. Meanwhile the other wooden ball and red bird will go down then up (almost like a sideways “S”) and almost leave the atmosphere but then come down to land on the bottom structure killing both pigs. The bottom blue antenna ball usually crumbles left and should also get sucked into geyser and take out the floating Mustache pig if he is still alive.
Thanks @lesleyg — Improved my score, but still not quite average. Any additional tips, or is it just a matter of repeat as necessary?
Finally got above average, but wondering what strat the highest scorers used? @laurafj — Did you use AA’s strat or something else? Any tips to get a higher score?
Other than hitting the two balls closer to the top than the middle, this one seems to be a lot about luck and no real skill. Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you @mvnla2.
@mvnla2 your welcome…I see you already got above average ;-) yeah I’d have to agree..it’s just a matter of how the debris decides it wants to fall. “Rinse and Repeat” so to speak.
Oooh please help me!! @lesleyg I’ve hit those balls 100 times can’t break average!! Does it make any difference if the pig on geyser is going up or down? And where do you hit the balls? I tried everywhere I guess..ty for help..in advance LOL ;)
@kathy, sorry for the delayed response! I haven’t had a chance to play all day but just saw your “bird signal” and I have to say “Thank You” to you! I came back to this level to see what I could do to help so I played a few times as to see exactly where I was coming in at and I increased my score from 57690 to 59440!!! (Don’t hate me, lol) I got a screenshot for ya ;-) I hope it will help you! Be sure to look at exactly where the dots line up against the stars in the background to help guide your shot! GL

@lesleyg thanks for the help! ;)
@lesleyg
Thank you for the post AA. Was able to obtain at score in 58k range once. Sure fire strategy for getting above average.
Seems like the key to this level is for the floating debris to strike itself and the points do rack up in the steam stream. Also if some of the stones get knocked off the top structure that aided in getting a few extra points.
I give up on this level, as well as quite a bit of the levels in the Red Planet in getting above average… Too much luck is needed for me! Played this one for about 45 minutes without stopping and i only got a one birder twice. The first was 54k and the second was 55k. I must have tried every shot except for the sweet shot while trying :P Oh well.
59,260 from 58,170. This level has been tormenting me for days. I’ve been doing AA’s strat over and over (hit the top of the wooden balls), and while getting many above average scores and a much higher completion rate than when aiming for the bottom of the balls, I never got that monster score (or potential score if any pigs were left).
I found that to get a really good score on this level several things have to happen. Shoot the red bird so it just grazes the bottom of the balls then gets deflected into the right stack of two cubes, sending both cubes into the steam.
You’ll want as much as possible to get carried away by the steam: The two cubes on the right, , the red bird, both wooden balls, the blue ball with the antenna, miscellaneous wood, AND the middle rectangular stone block. The middle rectangular block seems to be crucial to a high score (at least for me, lol) but it’s actually rare that it gets dislodged and floats away. The idea is to get all these pieces colliding with each other.
Meanwhile, you want one of the wooden balls to leave the steam and hit one of the stone cubes on the 2nd structure, causing the cubes to buckle and the structure to collapse. The harder the ball hits the cubes, the better.
Raised about 1,5K. Tryed by top and under bals. It’s not a problem to move wood ball and RB to right tower during lover gravitation.
