Angry Birds Space Pig Dipper Level 6-17 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Angry Birds Space Pig Dipper level 6-17 is to send the Ice bird south of the satellite planet, about two-thirds of the way out in its gravitational field. The Ice bird should duck and weave, eventually diving at the TNT on the north side of the main planet. Use any desired shot to pop the last pig. The score in the video below is 66,310.

Second Bird launch straight at the tower top and detonate, no need to circumnavigate the moon.

This is also how I did it. You want to have atleast 30K after the first bird to get a 72K+ score.

Thanks @werewolf69 Got the top score using your strategy. I got lucky on the first shot. The icy ball flew up to the other icy things by the tnt and set off a chain reaction. I had 35xxx after the first shot. It didn’t set off the tnt, so higher scores are possible.

71020 – Like the video, but I’ve had 71K that way and going straight to the bottom tower. Both are good ploys for this one. I don’t see a 1 birder here.

@liam, actually there’s a possible 1-Birder here and it all depends on the Iceteroid from the first Bird landing on the left tower, but it’ll take a lot of attempts and resets to achieve it. Good Luck.

this is also how i got 73950. first bird aim close to the outer gravity field to the top ice platform of the bottom left tower. i let the tower collapse a bit before detonating the ice bird and that usually takes care of everything of that tower. sometimes the ice balls bounce back up in to the small planet to take out a plant or two or over to the other towers for additional destruction with the second bird. the second bird i line up slightly closer to the small planet than the shot in the video, so it curves back into the center metal crossbar of the far right tower. again, i wait a tad for the tower to fall before detonating the ice bird. this particular score happened when left over ice bird balls bounced back into the small planet after near complete destruction of both left and right towers, but i’ve consistently gotten scores over 70K this way.

First bird around southern edge of satellite planet, not as close, on an iPad, to the edge of the gravitational field as in the above video, for a direct hit on the mid section of the furthest tower. Second bird in a direct shot to leftmost tower, just outside the gravitational field of the satellite planet for a score of 80,040.

70040 on a 2 birder! This is another level you can 3-star without a manual trigger! :D

Shot 1) Pull back straight and you’ll notice the pattern of stars below the straight line. Aim so you’re about 1-2 dots above the third star in that diagnonal. My shot had the benefit of coming up to the top right edge of the tower and freezing there. The slow fallover left was key to getting maximum force from the TNT blast.

Shot 2) Aim just outside the smaller planet’s grav field so it gets the left tower on the big planet. A good freeze should kill the pigs as the ice ball lifts up under them, and hopefully you’ll have enough of the tower destroyed when your 20K bonus kicks in. :)

Toot, toot. That’s me blowing my own horn over getting 17 Pig Dipper scores into the top 3. My 1st place won’t last long after I tell you how to incorprate the Iceteroids into a two shot strategy. There was lots of debris left to get higher scores.

1st Shoot at the upper right tower. Aim with medium full power at the upper concrete slab. As the IB slides past the second concrete slab, activate. The TNT will blow the ice ball up to the Iceteroid field. With a little practice you will find the sweet spot for activation. Although this is not an easy shot, it is repeatable.

2nd Shoot directly at the remaining tower. Scores above 80k are possible.

Toot, toot. This bring all my levels in PD back into top ten.

Todays challenge got me to try to implement another stRATegy after a while. Unfortunately I forgot to turn on my TARnslator. So I actually read: ‘Although this is not an easy shot, it is repeatable’. Which would undoubtedly be true if I was @rat9, but since I am not, it should read ‘Although this is an impossible shot, it may occur once in a lifetime’.

I did get the iceball out of gravity field once and there she went – right out of my screen. And I did get into top20 – by other means.

Definitely one of the hardest shot of the whole Angry Birds Space game, together with DZ-30, S-5 and S-17… And as always it emanates from our invincible King of Space, @rat9 .

The beam allowing to send IB boulder outside gravitational field is so narrow that in practice, it seems that only a few pixels along the general direction can do the job, and there is no simple way to spot them. I presume that reducing power was @rat9‘s method to ensure repeatability, but my sweet spot was at full power, to that reduced power is not crucial here IMHO.

Worse, even if you aimed perfectly, the odds that IB bounces back too hard after hitting the underwater structure are not negligible, so that even if you activate at the right moment, the IB boulder won’t be blasted up strong enough.

Worse still, activation window is very narrow. If you exit the gravitational field but go too much to the right to hit the other ice boulders, then you activated too early. If you don’t exit the gravitational field, then it doesn’t mean anything: either you aimed well but activated too late, or you aimed well but bounced too much, or you did not aim correctly. It is almost impossible to tell.

Even worse, even when you did everything correctly, you have no guarantee that the chain reaction within the ice boulder cluster will be efficient. Basically, you must avoid to ignite TNT or ignite it as late as possible, which more or less amounts to burst biggest boulder as late as possible, which is hard since this boulder is the one you are most likely to hit first after exiting gravitational field. If TNT explosion occurs too early, then it will scatter boulders in outer space without breaking then apart. In fact, you can make the successful shot, ignite the TNT, and end up with less than 30k. My worst 2-birder score after completing the level while igniting TNT during 1st shot was an appalling 63k…

However, from time to time, stars align as they should, and you can end up with this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWnOLjxjq8E

Anything above 37k is good, 39k or more is very good. In the above example, I got only 37k, but with one unexploded medium sized ice ball, which is equivalent to 39k as you can see from what happen when I finally burst it. I think a one-birder is possible since from time to time one small ice boulder breaks one underwater ice pillar, and once, another boulder damaged the second one.

In order to increase repeatability of first shot, I played on a PC, and shifted the mouse pointer only two pixels up after 1st shot (only when it was successful), so that I could come back to my initial position without problem (resetting with ‘R’ key). My impression is that 2nd shot clockwise around and above first planet is slightly more promising on average that the straight on shot, but I still have to implement it correctly while ensuring repeatability of 1st shot, these two goals being marginally compatible.

… And some time later, I made it to top score:

https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/members/sglouk/album/picture/19431/

I had a lucky ending of my 1st shot. The score was 36.5k at some point, when one medium sized iceball went under water and resurfaced under a raft of floating debris. There did not seem to be much stuff there, but my score suddenly jumped to almost 41k. My 2nd shot was not perfect, but gave me a bit more than 21k, plus two bonus birds. Enough to get top score. 83k is probably possible, above, I cannot say.
