Courtesy of both Samsung and SXSW, we have our first real glimpse at full-fledged gameplay in Angry Birds Space. As we reported in the official announcement, the first two episodes are called “Pig Bang” and “Cold Cuts”. Each episode will contain 30 levels and will be included at launch.
But wait, there’s more!
There will be a third episode called “Danger Zone” featuring 30 extremely challenging — brainteaser-like — levels. According to Samsung, this episode will be available as an in-app purchase (for which platforms is unclear at this time). Samsung Galaxy users will be able to access this episode free for 3 months from launch date and there will be an exclusive level, which you can see in the video below.
But wait, there might be even more!
Check out the SXSW demo below and you’ll see what looks to be a fourth episode called “Eggsteroids”. It appears this episode will be included at launch as well; though, I can’t see the episode selection screen well enough to make out the total number of levels (there are at least six). The developers got to have a bit of fun with this episode, as we see one level resembling old Super Mario Bros gameplay. If I was a betting man, I’d say this would also be an in-app purchase, or it could be analogous to the “Golden Eggs” episode of ABo.
So all told we’ve now seen four episodes: Pig Bang, Cold Cuts, Danger Zone, and Eggsteroids. Again, we don’t know what will exactly be available at launch — nor do we know exactly what will be free and what will be available as in-app purchase — but who cares, there will definitely be a lot of value packed into Angry Birds Space.

I also notice in all the videos that all the levels are unlocked. No Mighty Eagle icon either.
Did you notice that all the levels normally already have 3*s? That’s why they’re unlocked. ME is usually a separate purchase, so if they don’t want to let you know about it they wouldn’t have loaded on the devices they are using.
I don’t get what your saying. I know all levels have 3 stars but in the videos above only some stars are earn/not in the normal fashion as previous AB games (beat 1-1 & unlock 1-2, etc). I was just wondering if it’s just for this preview/demo of the game or will all levels be unlocked for the launch.
I see a fps counter in many if them though. Probably just the dev-version.
Does anyone know what system requirements for Angry Birds Space will be, for iOS in particular?
Will it work only with iOS 5? I have an older version 4.2 on my iPad and need to know whether

ABSpace is not an update. It’s a completely new AB app/Game (So you have to buy it).
I ask Rovio a few day ago and they said they system requirements haven’t been released yet. I think we just have to wait to see.
Yes, I know ABSpace is a new game to buy. I need to know whether to update the system on iPad before the game is released.
I don’t understand why Rovio keeps this information secret. People need to know about the system requirements in advance.
I don’t want to wait until the 22nd and then find out that I cannot install the new game because of the older system on my iPad.
AB usually requires iOS 3.0 or higher.
Rovio has no announced official iOS requirements yet, though 4.x likely is ok.

Oh well, it is going to be complicated, since I no longer have the computer to which I originally connected my iPad.
I would need to use somebody else’s computer, and I have heard some horror stories about people updating to iOS 5 and loosing all their apps.

Thanks for the link! This does sound scary! Redownloding all the apps from the App Store afterwards – this is insane, I have hundreds of apps on my iPad. And I doubt the game progress will be restored. I am even more reluctant to do the update now! I really hope ABSpace will work with the older system.

Make that 10. I just fininshed setting up the first three versions on my new Samsung PC with 23″ touch screen monitor, and they look absolutely great. I have no doubt that AB:Space will be just as dazzling….

It can, but it will be played on half-screen.
You can do the 2x button in the corner, that’s what I do, but it blurry.

Well, Amazon has in-app purchases so it is a possibility. BTW can’t Rovio make separate apps with one having the ME and one without the ME?

@annach I upgraded to iOS 5.1 yesterday and I didn’t lose all of my apps. I just had to back up. I also didn’t lose any of my progress in my games and the only app that I lost was iBooks.
