Angry Birds Space Eagle Availalbe via Google Play Thumb

Angry Birds Space Eagle & Danger Zone Now Available for Android

Yes, you read it correctly! Both Danger Zone and Mighty Space Eagle are now available as in-app purchases in Angry Birds Space via the Android Market (Google Play). This was a complete surprise, and even the app description makes no mention of these additions. While “Mighty” purchases have been rumored for Android for a long time, it is interesting to note that these purchases have nothing to do with the Bad Piggy Bank system, which we believe is still in development. We were originally tipped off by @AngryBirdNerd and had a lot of help from @rdnzlrips82 and @ncisgrabert to bring you this info!

Update for Amazon: The v1.2.2 update for Utopia no only features 30 new levels across regular gameplay, but now features these fantastic goodies as well! See the Amazon section below for more information.

The Mighty Space Eagle

The Mighty Space Eagle is available in v1.2.1, which also includes the first 10 levels of Utopia. Check out the main Utopia release post for a bunch more info. Before you start flinging sardine cans wildly, there is some information that you should be aware of.

Foremost, you have a limited number of Space Eagles, displayed in the top-left corner of the level. Each time you call for a sardine can, your count goes down by one. If you’re just getting started we have an awesome Angry Birds Space Eagle guide that you might want to check out. While this has received some criticism, we ask that you please do not post your criticisms of the system here. There are a few topics in the Forum if you wish to vent.

Space Eagles can be earned using normal gameplay, or purchased in bundles. For earning and pricing information, see our in-depth Space Eagle guide, which hits all the details. There is also a plethora of links at the bottom of the post, which should answer pretty much any questions you have.

Danger Zone

Danger Zone is an episode consisting of 30 incredibly difficult levels. Since they are so difficult, they must be purchased for an additional $0.99. You can play the first level for free, just to see if you think you can take the heat. After that, you need to decide whether you are capable of 3-starring these challenging levels. Of course, we are here to help you, but these levels are not for the faint of heart! For Samsung owners who have already played Danger Zone, fear not: You will continue to have access to Danger Zone for no additional charge. For Samsung owners who have not yet played Danger Zone, you will have to purchase like everyone else, sorry.

Remove In-Game Ads

If you are playing the free, ad-supported version of Angry Birds Space from the Android Market (Google Play), you may notice a new button on the front “Play” screen. It seems this option was added with the Fry Me to the Moon update, but the news slipped past us. In any event, by using either this “Remove Ads” button or by clicking the “X” to the left of any ad, you can buy away your ads for a mere $0.99 USD! This is good news, since separately purchasing the “Premium” app ex post facto does not transfer your progress between the two apps. Restricting In-App Purchases

Whether you want to purchase these items or not is your prerogative. But for the parents out there, here’s some good info for you, especially if you want to prevent your little ones from running up your credit card bill! While this process does not disable in-app purchases, it should protect your bank account.

Google Play: Go to Google Play Store App. Go to Menu > Settings > Set or Change PIN. Enter (and confirm) your PIN, then check the box for “Use PIN for purchases”.

Amazon Appstore: Go to the Amazon Appstore App. Go to Menu > Settings > Parental Controls > Enable Parental Controls. Enter your password for Amazon.com. If you don’t want to use your Amazon password, check the box “Use PIN” and enter (and confirm) your PIN.
