175140 one birder. Split high up right before snow holding the iceblocks above the mammoth. One bird goes over the bamboo-roof, slides down to the left and ignites the tnt, often bringing the hanging pig down. The other two bluets fall down to the snow to the right of the mammoth undermining the structure and send it into the abyss below

179290 with 2 birds. Had just the hanging pig left with method described above. Sent whitebird just like @greybrow53 describes below!

I managed the same one birder but, oddly, have had more success with a two bird strategy.

First bird straight at the ice at the top of the screen triggering to hit the snow just above it. When you get this right it drops down causing the mammoth to collapse over the edge leaving just the remaining pigs etc. on the right hand side. Bomb bird then triggered to go over the triangle of ice with the pig hanging from his ice pick, falling down the snow behind bringing the entire structure down on the stuff beneath.

One bird remaining formal score of 178750.

And this is another one of those levels where there can be a huge variation in the final score even though the same amount has been cleared. 10,000 points difference is not unusual.

And despite many attempts, I still haven’t found a way of bringing down the fish. But I will!

So there is a way, and it might, eventually, lead to a good score (but I haven’t managed it yet ?).

Launch small blue at an angle of 45 degrees and trigger fractionally before it hits the snow. If you get it right, one of them will sail over the ice and hit the pig hanging from the ice triangle and explode the TNT.

I suspect there’s an alternative one birder there.

If it doesn’t work, you will now have cleared enough snow hanging from the rocks to trigger bomb bird just to the left of the fish, causing him to fly into the snow bringing the fish triangle down.

I don’t think this will achieve any greater score but it’s nice to have an alternative strategy (at least it is, in my world). ?

@peejaydee27 – yes, annoying isn’t it! I discovered even when you’re on for a one birder it’s still worth launching Matilda to hit behind the lower triangle as the snow drift and remaining ice blocks are worth more than the 10k points you get for not using her. Where’s the logic in that? ?

175270 with 2 birds by splitting blues high (in the same way described by @jomasa), then Matilda to drop her egg and ricochet up to the right ice pyramid to drop it all including the one remaining pig hanging on ice-pic.
After many more tries finally got jomasa’s 1-birder using the same shot, but only 170K :-((
So another level with off-screen destruction it seems, and higher scores to come for sure!

Strange level, I have Matilda ‘not a carcass’ lying on the detonator for 10 minutes now, no signs of being finished, yet my game is not frozen everything else cleared except that block of ice on the right with the detonator and 2 piggies under ice: (

Grrrrrr Wwwwhhhhiiinnne definitely need one birder for a good score, cleared everything except the fish in the top corner and the hanging pig with the first shot, flinging blue at the top snowbank :(Wwwwhhhhhhiiiinnnneee

Hi @kathy. For what it’s worth, all my best scores (I’ve got 178,000+ three or four times) have been from two birders.

I shoot first blue bird at 45 degrees and trigger fractionally before impact. When you get it right, one of them carries on over to the far side taking out most of what’s there and the others drop down on the Nearside taking out the frozen mammoth.

Very rarely, it is a one birder but it’s never been a good,score. The second bird (Matilda) is almost always worth firing between the ice triangles and then roll down the back as the snow behind the lower triangle, all the way down to the bottom is worth extra points. I think the top scores (in part) are down to this.

Thanks @greybrow53 actually after my whine I almost had 182k which would have been top score,Of course there is a ‘however ‘ the stubborn piggie on the right in the ice block refused to give up:(

Other oddities on this level part of the ice blocks that piggy is hanging from on right, including brown thing inside, sometimes stay suspended in air, with no attachment to snow or rocks.

In this case lol is an acronym for lots of luck! Blue birds rested on the ice blocks on the right and were blown northward via the tnt. We’ll see how long this score remains at the top!

Two birder. The first one as @greybrow53 describes. I had nothing left on the bottom. I aimed Matilda to glance off the bottom fish triangle before going through the snow in back of the stone head (or whatever it is) The fish triangle broke and must have given me a few extra points. (all 3 fish remained, however)

Are the Blues too weak, or is the “snow” under the mammoth actually mixed with Pykrete? It’s so hard to clear all the “snow” with one shot.

Same two birds as in this level’s video. Getting the animal to fall off the cliff took some luck with the debris cutting through the snow underneath. Fun level to play.

Never managed a one-bird clear but all I had left after the first was the hanging pig. Used Matilda to clear that one and had one bird left.
