A soon-to-be-released update to the Angry Birds Seasons franchise looks to be called, “Back to School” and, as we expected, will include a brand new pink bird. In the video above notice that the pink bird carries a bubble wand. She happily bounces around to and fro while blowing bubbles, large and small. That is, until she happens upon the pigs, who are doing what they do best: plotting a master plan to steal the birds’ eggs (a plan that includes an iron of all things). When she gets angry she uses her bubble wand to blow an egg shaped bubble, which acts as a sort of decoy and lures in the pigs. Since the pigs aren’t the most brilliant of creatures they chase the bubble to their ultimate demise.
That is a long winded way of saying that the pink bird’s power seems to be the ability to blow egg shaped bubbles that act as a sort of decoy. Exactly how this will work in the actual game remains to be seen, but regardless, I am excited and can’t wait to see.
I should note. A “Back to School” update isn’t exactly what we expected. When Rovio teased us that a new pink bird would soon join our beloved flock a few super-sleuths made a brilliant connection between the female pink bird and the forthcoming Chinese Qixi Festival. The Qixi Festival is also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, so it made complete sense. Anyhow, as brilliant of a guess as it was it looks like it was wrong (always fun speculating though!).
