With all this talk about Angry Birds Space, no one was expecting this…
Rovio specifically said that Angry Birds Rio was not finished, and we now have proof. A bonus update (v1.4.3 / v1.4.4) is now available for iOS and Android via the Amazon Appstore and Android Market, with other platforms coming soon. From the original release of Rio, we all hoped and prayed that hunting down 90 fruit would yield some sort of reward, and Rovio has responded!
PC Update: v1.4.4 has landed on PC!
Mac Update: v1.4.4 has landed on Mac!
Playbook Update: v1.4.4 has landed for Playbook, a major update which also includes the 30 levels of Smuggler’s Plane.
This update includes:
- 6 new challenging levels, one for each episode that
has 90/90 stars!Correction: It seems that you simply need to pass all 30 levels of the episode, not necessarily earn all 90 stars. - Another 6 new levels, one for each episode that has 15/15 fruit!
- The walkthrough page are online and we’re starting on the video walkthroughs.
- The Trophy Room leaderboard is live and ready for your scores.
- This is still not the end of Rio!. That’s right. According to the iOS release, there will still be more updates in the future.

You know, im wondering. If you don’t need 90/90 stars to get the top levels in the image, why do they have stars above the object? Doesn’t that say that you got 3 stars in each level in the chapter?
I believe that the picture above is an example of someone game progress. They completed all the levels & received 3 stars in those levels. Some other user have reported that you don’t need 3 stars in all levels to unlocks these (picture above).
So I don’t think were (ios user) are going to get this update before ABSpace. Maybe the same day or after the new launch.
Only two more days & ABSpace “The Danger Zone” will control my life…Any clue what time it will come out?
Rio has updated in GameCenter, so it won’t be long.

Really? I saw that ABo was also updated in Game Center today. But I don’t see any update in the App Store (I have an iPhone, no iPad).
Yep, the first 15 levels have been added.
Yes! It’s available on iPad! Playing it now and the tutorial is bit animated now.

Angry Birds Tazos levels 4-6 are unlocked for everyone as well.

Finally the update arrive on IOS. There’s also an update for ABO.
The text in the App Store sais that the levels can only be opened if you have 3 stars in all levels.
Can anybody doubleckeck this please? If you can open the levels without 3 stars in iOS as well, then it’s a bug maybe. Or the text is wrong.
Slim, I wanted to call your attention to the last sentence in the RIO update… You might want to highlight that in your description as it will probably save you from having to answer all those “are more RIO levels coming?” questions.
To clarify: I meant the last sentence in the App Store update description for RIO, the one that says Stay Tuned: More Rio updates are on the way (or something to that effect)

Just checked by overall Rio score in GameCenter and it now (again) has my Golden Beachball score in the total. Also has points from the new Trophy Room Level in my total.
After the previous update, the beachball points were removed from the total score.
I am trying to update AB and Rio and it is just sitting there saying ” Waiting…” What to do about that?
You can try restarting your device.
I have turned it off and on more than once and turned off iCloud to now avail.

I just updated on my iPhone and the new levels already have all three stars and high scores. I feel like the three bears in Goldilocks. Whose been eating my porridge? It’s like someone played my game already. :(
Ok, I might elect myself moron of the year. Apparently those are my high scores and gold stars, as I had already played that level and it wasn’t a new level. duh!!!
Finally the top score for the time being (I know that some of the heavy hitters haven’t even started playing yet)! I shall savor it for now.
I was hoping they would finish out the Gamecenter archivements… :-(
But the new levels are quite nice!
I 3 starred all the new levels. I hope I can feather them today. Some are not easy to get total destruction, am I right?
hardest to feather for me was the beachball trophy.. the rest were quite moderate IMO..
Yeah, you are right. Half an hour in the train was enough to feather them all.

@ Slim…..Okay I hope I am the last dunce to ask this, as I have read above all that has been said. Yesterday, both ipod and ipad here, had updates for the ABO and ABR. I updated them I have restarted and resynced so many times hoping I would see the Rio Trophy Room. No, not on ipod or ipad. No Trophy Room today either.
Is this a glitch, or are we locked out in Canada, or what is up? I thought from reading above that some on ipod/ipad are using Trophy already.
The Surf and Turf did come through for ABO.

Click on “Awards” in the bottom-right. The name “Trophy Room” is our own nomenclature since there is no official episode title. Rovio liked it, as well :)

This updated ruined angry birds rio! I almost three stared all the bonus levels, but them my app closes by itself (that’s natural for me). I reopen the app and the awards room says I don’t have any of the fruit, but the achivement room says I do. Now I have to get the fruit again! :(
I finally got the fruit back and when I did it gave me three stars on the fruit just like it was before!
I’ve been waiting for this for so long! ever since i opened up trophy room for the first time, its always been a disappointment to find no levels :( but now…this is great! i just finished 3starring and feathering all the levels today :)

No, this is not all.
I just figured out on Wikipedia that there will be a sequel to Rio called Rio 2, and it will be released April 11th, 2014. So who knows if Rovio will make more levels? If they do, they should do like they did in Angry Birds seasons and have 1 section for Rio, and another for Rio 2.
I don’t think Rovio will wait 2 years before releasing another update.
Well yeah, me too. But before 2014, they could make…..Oh I don’t know…… behind the scene episodes or deleted scene episodes. Whatever they decide is A-ok with me. I just like new levels.
