New Event – Nemesis Prime
I still haven’t gotten the knack for the rocket bird. I know you probably have to aim while he is facing the direction you want, but my timing is always off.
Rocket birds really gave me fits too, frustrating. I’m going to go play the new Star Wars levels……and revisit the rocket birds when I have more patience.
@kathi17 and @myselfandme, I had difficulties too with this rocket bird. For me it helped to concentrate on the point of the rocket and not to zoom out or is it zoom in?
I think I have it now, just as the bird begins to rotate in the direction you want, tap.
I shot the first bird like the second bird of the video.
But draw the orbit which is slightly higher than a video.
I break the upper structure which stayed with the second chicken.
To the wood box that there is the orbit just before a structure of the second bird.
I am not good at directing but kept trying and once the first bird landed up at the far right column, then ricocheted up to the next column up and left- took both out with good destruction. 2nd bird to first column and it went thru to 2nd column.
111k with 1 bird, into center of first column. Caused some kinda weird reaction, and nothing left but dust.
As mentioned on the feather bonus level 1 walkthrough page, I find Chuck riding a rocket unpredictable and bordering on uncontrollable. I fluked a 1 birder with this level by firing him straight ahead and trying to boost when he’s facing straight ahead (not an easy feat). He went through both the first two towers and on to hit the far right one which set off the rockets. One of the rockets went up and took out the top tower. Not a top score but that’ll do for me. Got to say Rovio, not a fan of Chuckie on a rocket.
One thing that helps me is to count out his spins as his rocket’s nose cone passes a certain plane, usually the direction I want him to go when boosted. So say I want him to go straight and level right. After I fire him, each time his nose cone hits level right, I say 1,2,3, etc.. Subdivide that like “1 and, 2 and, 3 and” or “1 e and a” and you can pretty reliably send him off on any 90 or 45 degree trajectory you want.
Anyone with a music background knows exactly what I’m doing here; keeping time. But this mental action definitely helps your brain sync up to this action and pretty much nail anything. :)
I wish the rocket tip was brightly highlighted ~ say like with a glowing red tip.
I find it easiest to tap just a nanosec before the rocket is pointed in the direction I want it to go. Don’t have the stellar scores but am able to consistently break 110k.
ACK! I think this has got to be the definition of “directionally challenged!”
It’s also quite amusing when Chuck is jettisoned unexpectedly in the opposite direcion than the one you intended.
Thank you @kelani for the counting tip, I used the old Lawance Welk counting for timing on the top tower, I would only get to 2 count …..”‘A one and A two” (trigger)….. also thanks to @josephine for your tip on focusing on the rocket really helped.
I would zoom out about 1/2 way, need big enough to see the darn rocket tip but also need to see some of the target too.
It took awhile to get the timing down, once you have that figured out it is more doable.
This one is crazy! It took some wild flinging to get it figured out.
(Now to get Lawance Welk’s counting out of my head….Ugh! )
Happy flinging!
@diannas Glad it worked :) I dunno about you, but I’d rather have Welk’s counting in my head than his accordion playing.
@diannas I revisited this level recently trying to improve my score, but without any luck so far. Next time I definitely try counting.
@diannas, there is no time like the present… counting and 115K although I hit the marmoset on the far right but luckily one of the fire works went up to the top tower, and then everything collapsed.
Warning to all who just started these bonus levels…..this is only the first of other crazy rocket levels ahead!
With each of these wild crazy rocket bonus levels, counting and watching the rocket tip helps. I just had to get the timing and the counting down. It would take a few wild flings, but once you do get that timing, you can hit your target MOST (not all) of the time.
I also found (typical for AB), that each time I would get a different result, even with hitting the same target the exact same way……. I just keep repeating until I get a score I am happy with!
Happy flinging!
You are right, accordion would be worst, but not by much! I prefer good old ‘rock n roll’……
( I have been with ABN for about 2 years now. I have mostly been re-playing the older levels to improve my scores with my goal to score at least within the top 100. Since I have been playing epsoides and levels from sooo long ago, sometimes the last comment might be over a year or more old…. So I just use the advantage of everyone’s prior comments / strats and if I play newer level, I try to put my comments to help others down the road too. )
I have not visited the social pages because when I do have the time to play, I do focus on actual flinging and score improvement. I have a lot of levels to redo! I really should visit to make friends of all the flingers I have read very comment from I feel as if I already know!
Nice meeting you! I am sure we will bump into each other again down the road!……
The crazy yellow bird in the Unlocked Levels of Rocket Rumble are impossible to control. I noticed on your video they straighten out their flying pattern, but not for me! They just keep twirling and flying every which way. Any thoughts?
I’m playing on an iPhone.
Thanks.
Linda
Hi, Yellow should straighten out when you tap the screen.
Well, I’d love to share a strategy on how to score above average but I have no idea what happened on this level. I used two birds; that’s all I know. Pure luck.
130k. Pure luck. (Bet you have not heard that before). Just random flinging and first bird went through first structure, missing concrete block and on to next structure. Second bird to top structure which fell to right. No one more suprised than me with score.
Just got to get to my pc to download/upload screenshot as phone up the creek..
I just scored 127,390 points by using 2 birds. First bird into & thru left structure. Chuck bounced off concrete block, thru bottom of second structure and into top wood box on far right stack. Second Chuck brought down upper structure onto remains of far right stack. Two birds left unused.

Congrats to @dasa51 on a great score !
Good luck & happy flinging to all !!
