Angry Birds Rio Beach Volley Walkthrough Level 4 (5-4)

Our strategy for Beach Volley level 5-4 is to launch the first Red bird into the top-left sand block of the last structure. If the TNT detonates, the middle and right towers should clear. In the video, we are extraordinarily fortunate to have a piece of wood disrupt the structural integrity of the left tower, but you can attack it with the Red bird. The score in the video below is 116,230.

Pure luck. I got lucky on that one anyway. With better luck, top right comes down as well so i believe close to 140k is within reach.

Some Aiming Details

As of 07/20/16, there are no really useful posts for this level. One or two birding it using the video method (minus the luck) IS the only way to do it. I do have a couple of aiming tips that might, MIGHT, keep you from pulling your hair out. I use an iPhone 5S, so hopefully these tips work for your platform too.

First Bird:
Zoom all the way in.
Pull red back until the tip of the triangle formed by the slingshot straps points directly at the spot where the head feathers on Red #2 meet his skull. Release. This should be a direct hit on the upper left sand block of the third structure. If you manage a one-birder, immediately go out and purchase a lottery ticket and don’t ever come back to this level!

Second Bird:
Pull red slightly down from horizontal so that he launches at a very slight upward angle. This should cause him to hit the upper left sand block of the first structure. HOPEFULLY, this will cause the structure to partially crumble and eventually set off the TNT.

Used your two bird strategy to complete this level thanks,@philsey. I was unable to obtain a one bird solution but five times one monkey remained, the top left one. I think it is possible.

Well, maybe I’ll give it a try to see if I’m any more luckier than I was when I got my 113k :D

@rdnzlrips82 were you in a bad mood the day you picked this level? Because this cruel and unusual behavior to do this to friends. I may need to remove you from my friends. Lol ;)

@sunshine you know Ripsy is at home rubbing his hands together & cackling away with an evil gleam in his eye. Maybe we need to keep him better supplied with Starbucks or something.
Was yours a 1 or 2 birder? I’ve been at this for a couple of hours & I’ve had a whopping 1 1-birder plus a few decent 2-bird clears, none of which scored higher than my existing 116k. Can’t seem to let this one go though, I’m going to have to torture myself some more!

I keep hitting it exactly as shown on video time after time after time, going on over 300 flings so far, and nothing, zilch, it does nothing more than show me every possible combination of losing scenarios. What gives?

Thank you much @sunshine for the words of encouragement, but as you can plainly see, I’ve been flinging for the better part of 2 and a half hours and all I was able to raise my score was 90 points, yes you’re reading it correctly, 90 crummy, lousy, crappy points.

It wouldst seem as if the creators of this infernal level are having the laugh of their life at my expense. Again, thank you much.

One of those evil levels you are sure you will not play again after getting a decent score. But then, the Challenge, why not fling while watching a bit of TV? I swear, the same shot I’ve flung hundreds of time before. I even had the second bird extended on the slingshot when a slow motion clear just kept happening. It ended with 110K, and I got the two bird bonus since I froze in place and didn’t release the back up bird. A 9K improvement! Okay, now I won’t play this level again!!!

What makes this level so challenging, in fact all of beach volley, is that the background moves. It makes using a static frame of reference particularly hard. I just try to use the change in the feathers ontop of red’s head as a reference. The feathers change shape and that can be helpful. I wish I could say that I had it nailed down but I don’t. @misterparon ‘s vid makes it deceptively easy but my hat is off cause it is most definitely not!
