Angry Birds Philadelphia Eagles Coming September 4th

Long, long ago we reported a collaboration between Rovio, the Angry Birds, and the NFL franchise Philadelphia Eagles (for the original post, click here). Well now we have some new information, and the good news is, it’s coming soon! Very soon! How about, September 4th!!

Some preliminary information about this app. There will be 16 levels, one released per week that the Eagles actually play. The Eagles have their “Bye Week” on the weekend of 21 October, so no level that week. Also, no word on whether more levels will be added if the Eagles make the playoff. It will be a Facebook-based game, playable on the Philadelphia Eagles’ Facebook page. It also appears that the gameplay has a small tweak, which is pretty cool. There are green footballs (or “pigskins”, if you will), which are also worth 5000 points. If anyone remembers Carnival Upheaval in Angry Birds Rio, I’m guessing this is very similar to the green piggie balloons, where they were worth 5000 points but not required to pass the level. This is just speculation on my part, but I think it’s quite likely.

We are also introduced to the Mighty Philadelphia Eagle, who appears to act identically as our original Mighty Eagle with a very slight twist. Actually, that’s quite literal: The Philadelphia Eagle seems to do a couple of spins after reaching the point of it’s V-shaped trajectory, then continue onward.

Be sure to check back here in September, as we will cover all levels with walkthroughs!

Update

September 4th is here and the the first level, “Cleveland” can now be played on the Philadelphia Eagles Facebook page. Here is a direct link to the game. We are working on getting the walkthroughs posted as we speak.
