Meet the AngryBirdsNest Crew

Maintaining AngryBirdsNest.com is definitely a team effort and without the support of the amazing Angry Birds community (read: you) none of this would be possible, so from all of us, “Thank you”. Also, a BIG thanks to Rovio for giving us permission to do what we do.

Bird Leader

I created AngryBirdsNest.com in the summer of 2010 as a way to give back to the Angry Birds community while helping myself conquer this amazingly addictive game. My then 3-year-old son and I played A LOT of Angry Birds and back then there really wasn’t an easy way to get help or share strategies. Having a background in web development and video games, I thought I’d approach Rovio and ask them if I could create a fan site. To my surprise, they agreed and even provided some of the very assets (artwork, etc.) you see today. I guess the rest is history. While I don’t respond to as many comments as I used to, I am still actively involved on the site on a daily basis.

SweetP

Watch out Mad Max, SweetP is our resident road warrior! Born in Hawaii, she is the only person to have ever ridden a motorcycle non-stop all the way across the Pacific Ocean to California. When she finally hit land she was so exhausted that she just couldn’t go on, so this is where she has been ever since. Wait?! I think I forgot the part about the sharks. Oh well, moving on … When SweetP is not tearing up the road, or out on the links, she’s probably helping a fellow flinger on the Nest or attending to the daily Angry Birds Challenge. Like Mad Max before her, that’s just how she rolls! And we thank her for it.

Mighty Red

Silence falls over the stadium and the arena rumbles as Mighty Red enters. The respect has been earned and the crowd knows it. Few, if any, Nesters have played as many Angry Birds games as the MIGHTY — Mighty Red. He’s completed every objective, 3-starred every level, and mastered every rank. The diamond tiers can barely hold him. He’s a God among us. Yeah, as I said, the respect has been earned.

Bernersenn

You’re the man now dog! Hailing from the south of Netherlands, @bernersenn, is an adventurous spirit who is always looking for a challenge (Angry Birds or otherwise). As his name and avatar imply, he loves Bernese Mountain Dogs — which in Swiss-German translates to … wait for it … Bernersenn. In addition to being an avid flinger and Nester @bernersenn is also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. We are all lucky to have him as part of the team!

… and a special thanks to everyone else who contributes to the Nest on a regular basis! This is what a community is all about. Go TEAM!

Huge THANKS to our Past Admins

AMslimfordy

The man, the myth, the legend. In addition to being one of our main contributors, Slim is also the chief moderator. He single handily responds to hundreds of comments each week, helping thousands of Angry Birds players along the way. It doesn’t stop there though. He has superpowers! Shhhhh… One such power gives him super news-sleuthing ability. Another allows him to store vast amounts of Angry Birds data in his cerebral cortex. Yet another allows him to understand something called “number theory”. Yeah, who knew. I just don’t want to get on his bad side.

sal9

Sal comes to us from the world of game modding. Yes, he’s l33t, so be careful. Exactly how his background in modding translates into an amazing ability to fling our cute feather friends we may never know, but we’re not ones to complain. In addition to being a top flinger Sal is also a gifted graphic designer. If you haven’t already, definitely check out the awesome Angry Birds backgrounds he has been nice enough to share with the ABN community (yes, showering us with gifts can help you become a moderator). These are just two of Sal9’s nine talents. The other seven are: shaving, chewing gum, breaking bottles over his head, smiling, putting lots of straws together to make one really big straw, tic-tac-toe, and last, but not least, jogging backwards.

E-Star

If you need an honest answer that comes with a free smile E-Star (E*) is your gal. Permanently happy, and a gadget geek at heart, E-Star has taught herself how to play Angry Birds on two iPads simultaneously, all while teaching young children that pigs really are green. Seriously, who knew?! When she is not mentoring our future world leaders on the benefits of having an asterisk in their pseudonym, she can be found annihilating pigs in Angry Birds Seasons (of course capturing every second on HD video). While breaks are rare for E*, she does occasionally jump up, put her game face on, then run around her iPad while doing the ‘Vogeltjesdans’.

Kelani

Despite the Hawaiian name, @Kelani hails from the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. In addition to being a Master Flinger, Kelani is a jack of all trades who knows so much random trivia that people in The Bloated Pig simply call him, “Keloogle”. He’s also a musician / composer that plays the keyboard, guitar, trumpet, and vibraphone (Google it!). As a young child he thought to himself, “Why stop there?”, so he’s also a competitive chess player and has been an extra in a number of Hollywood blockbusters, including: Dawson’s Creek, Carrie II: The Rage and The Patriot. When Kelani isn’t laser focused on Angry Birds, hacking Linux, or building something with a rudimentary lathe, you’ll probably see him munching on Mentos. He’s so addicted that @e-star likes sending him surprise packages of varieties that are only available in the Netherlands. There’s something else I’ll have to Google!

FujiToast

You all know the name, but what you may not know is that FujiToast doesn’t like toast. Not one bit. All joking aside, FujiToast has been our go-to walkthrough creator for almost a year now. He’s probably helped more people pass Angry Birds levels than anyone else. Inadvertently, he’s probably saved countless lives and marriages by reducing stress and the time people sit in front of their iPhone (sorry Android users). Not only does FujiToast create awesome walkthroughs, but he also writes articles, creates taffy on the weekends, and routinely saves baby seals from poachers.
