A good strategy for Season’s Greedings level 1-18 is to lob the first Black bird through the snow blocks between the wooden and stone structures. This is a challenging shot, but can clear ten pigs if done properly. Arc the next Black bird through the remaining pig in the top-right to finish the level. To earn some extra points, try to have the second Black bird reach the present on the far-right. The score in the video is 95,350.

Note: The video below shows the Santa Hat glitch. This glitch has since been fixed and thus is no longer possible. The trigger was the Santa Hat atop the large pig next to the present. To see which levels have the glitch, we have tagged them.
This level is impossible. I’ve bee trying to get 3 stars in it for four days now. Who can I send my iPod Touch to to get 3 stars and have them send it back to me? This sucks!!

Well, the update explains level 7 as well. I hit the sweet spot many, many times to no grand explosion. Now, I understand why! Just glad it’s not me…
Using MY method i got 101480. I am so happy!
Pulled off 101810 by placing a bomb bird between scaffolding and bricks on left (bomb should go all the way to ground and destroy bunker pigs as well as all but one scaffold pig). Second bomb bird needs to come in high on the right side of the bunker. Try and hit the one bird on the head. This will hit that bird and the present. Finally use the yellow bird to take out remaining scaffold bird.
Yep, using this method I got 105630. The first bomb bird took out all but the top right pig. Second bomb bird took out the pig, present and a lot of snow blocks.
This game has certainly gotten harder since they took out the exploding santa hats. The only annoying thing is that I 3 starred everything on my old device. Since I upgraded to the iPhone 4 I have had to redo everything and it’s harder now! So annoying but still a great game!

18 was tough after the exploding hat was gone. I too upgraded to the iphone 4 and found it a bit more difficult to get this level. Use the above tips and just keep at it. I ended up with 98880 after a little work. Do not use the the video walkthrough, it is like taking sand to the beach. Good luck.

The average is calculated by taking all scores entered for that level and finding the mean. There is no way to adjust that. It’s a mathematical fact.
its fine, i am just trying to make sure i have all points above average so those couple of levels on christmas are making my OCD come out a little, that’s all.
Did you achieve this score before or after the exploding hat was removed from the game? I have been replaying he levels to increase my scores to be above the average. I’ve completed Rio and have gotten to this point in Seasons where I realize that the average is skewed by the unobtainable scores from the older version of the game.
I have been able to consistently clear and 3-star this level but I have been unable to score more that 100,840. Based on what others have been posting, I think that any score around 100,000 is a relatively high score for this version of the game.
I’m in agreement with thuglifeforevs that the scores above 110,000 should be removed and placed in a special section that will recognize their achievement but not impact the average. You have made exceptions in the past for game changes (the Mighty Eagle feather in that one level that was ridiculously high) and I think you should make one here.
My scores are after the glitch was removed.

Guess it is all in the luck of the debris, I used the same strat but after many tries I got myself a decent score of 103070. Here is my video of the same strat, but with more point of debris!
Luckily I have gotten the chance to use an old version of AB Seasons and play with the top shooters using the glitch.

I’m through with the Seasons Greedings. It’s so hard that it’s not fun. Must have been designed for professional Angry Birds players. Too many “showy” shots that old hands and reflexes can only barely and rarely achieve. Besides I 3 starred and golden egged Seasons last year and somehow they all disappeared, I think when I updated to Moon Cake Festival. Only by chance did I go back to my other Seasons episodes only to find them deleted. It wasn’t fun the first time around and it’s worse the second. I was never able to 3 star 1-16. I finally asked my son to do it for me. I only play for stars, not points, and I don’t post scores anywhere so I didn’t worry about the ethics of having him do it. I just wanted to be through with Seasons. Can’t Rovio devise a game that’s a little more difficult than Rio but not as hard as Seasons Greedings? Well,
I’m off to read a good book or find a great word game to play.
So I’m sure this answer is somewhere mixed in with the hundreds of posts in the seasons greedings but i’m curious, when they updated the fix for the santa hat exploding, did they also deleted everyone’s scores for those levels? If they didn’t this is obviously not very fare for those of us who didn’t have the chance to use the exploit. Anyhow just didn’t know where to find this out. Anyhow know? Thanks.

I would partially agree that it’s not fair, but the glitch was available for everyone at the time, so it’s also fair for the users to enter those scores.
Sorry I. Disagree ..it WAS fair for those scores to be entered at the time, but now I believe they should be removed to make a fair playing field for all..its very hard to make average without having the advantge of Santa glitch

We will not be removing these scores. They are 100% permissible.
Deleting old scores would be too extreme. But combining glitch scores with post-glitch scores makes it confusing for newcomers. I’ve been going through old levels and trying to reach/beat the leaderboard average. What score should I shoot for here? How long should I keep at it? It’s hard to tell. (Current high around 95400, more than 6000 below the average.)
It would be nice to see highs and averages for only post-glitch scores, that’s all.
@samsonkj – I know that all Seasons Greedings averages can be met without the benefit of the glitch. Just takes a bit more work.

@samsonkj I didn’t have the benifit of the glitch :( however I got above avg most of the levels without the glitch took me hours to accomplish above avg so you can for sure do it, it’s just a matter of how long your willing to keep at it. I know you can reach it! If your able to get estars video up she I believe made some without the glitch for those of us unlucky enough to be to new to have it, try that, I know they helped me in a lot of these!! :) Good luck and I know you’ll do it!!
Thanks for the encouragement, folks. I tried again, got a couple 97-98k scores, then boom 108k.
