With just two days until the Angry Birds Space launch Rovio has released the official trailer. The Angry Birds are nurturing their precious eggs when a portal opens up in the blue sky above. Sensing trouble, the Angry Birds abandon their eggs (or do they take them with?), load into their trusty slingshot, and fearlessly fling into the portal — transporting them to a galaxy far far away.
Interesting tidbit, this is the first Angry Birds trailer that I’ve seen carry the ESRB rating of E for Everyone. I may be wrong, but it definitely caught my eye.

According to Wikipedia, that’s Pacific Standard Time, -8 GMT.
That means i have to wait until 9 am (MET). Sadly, my lessons start at 8.55…

We assume so, yes. I think they will be clues about where to find the Eggsteroids, but you could find them on your own.
Question, will we have to buy merchandise or like the walmart page to unlock those for levels or will it be like the Golden Beachball levels in Rio where the levels are simply unlocked by finding a secret item? Thanks!

for the record, I hate that Rovio has partnered with a company as blatantly evil as Walmart. Wonderful Pistachios I could handle, Pepsico/Frito-Lay was iffy, but Walmart reeks of selling out.

Before playing the game, can you post back here the time you were able to purchase it.
I am a US east coaster on DST, so would love to play at midnight…although 3AM is most likely (advent style updates come at midnight PDT)… But if you dont get it at midnight then it most likely won’t be rolled out in that fashion and can be any time on the 22nd.
It is a global release. It will be available everywhere at the same global time (not local time). Based on some tweets I have seen, it may be in the wee-hours here in the US.
so umm … any clue as to what time this will be released? wee hours on the 22nd morning or USA? which means noonish in Middle East? iam thinking of taking a day off work tomorrow :) …

It appears that the official launch will happen tomorrow at the Space Needle in Seattle. I tweeted to ask time (could be midnight, since the image is night). Everyone who can come is invited it appears! To bad I can’t.
well, I can see the Space Needle from here, but I don’t think I will be getting up at midnight to attend a party there. Nothing locally announcing an event.
So far, they haven’t given time for event. Guess they expect you to stay up all night, then jump in car as soon as released???
Could be decent for BirdLeader on the west coast. 3am isn’t the best time for me on the east.

Summary:
Worm-hole or portal opens above AB, out come the Ice Bird with something that look like a radioactive, pock-marked egg. Ice Bird followed by mechanical claw that takes Ice Bird’s egg, along with 3 eggs belonging to ABs. Ice Bird uses slingshot to get back through portal. ABs follow when they realize claw took their eggs also. In worm-hole / portal they get their superpowers. They all emerge into outer space. Claw is attached to spaceship (which belongs to king pig, I think). That’s all Folks!

What about system requirements? I would still like to know whether it will require iOS 5 or will work with iOS 4 as well.

if you want you can (just to get the hidden levels early) But it’s not required to unlock the levels. Normal game play and skill (or just go here when a post is made revealing the location of “space golden eggs”)
