Thanks for this! I had given up on this level. Following the procedure above, you get a different result every time! But soon enough I got TD.

I’ve done this 100 times… only get 99%

There’s something really wrong with this level. I’ve totally cleared everything and gotten a 95%.

Sometimes the Mighty Eagle throws items off-screen that don’t break. But the level is not glitched: This I can confirm.

By Munky

The fact that items are “THROWN” off screen is silly. Since objects off screen cannot be manipulated of destroyed they should be counted towards the total damage. Can you make a boomabird change directions once it goes off screen? No, you cannot. Not only should the players be fair when they play, but the game developers should be fair to the players.

Let’s be clear about this. Some material thrown off-screen is broken, but under the same conditions it would break on-screen. The argument is that, even if you can’t see anything, that doesn’t mean everything is destroyed.

And yes, you can make the boomerang bird change directions when it goes off-screen.

Players have to play fair. Can’t cheat computer. Lol. At least I can’t

What really gets me about acquiring the feather on this level is the completely anti-climatic, almost disgusting ease at getting 100% after watching the video. That after several attempts at perhaps the most systematic takedowns of any level I’ve ever played. I mean, trying it the way I was doing it, I’d managed several times to obtain TD through the use of the regular birds alone, with nary a matchstick, stone, or even a clover left in place, with everything destroyed, and nothing being tossed off-screen.

You’d think at this point, that tossing the sardine can, and the strafing attack of the ME would be a mere formality, right? Well, you’d be wrong, as the MOST I’d ever managed with this method was 97%. Talk about language that isn’t welcome here at ABN, when this happened, you would wish to be in an entirely different state than where I was!

So, I finally decide to watch the feather walkthrough, and trying it out, it worked perfectly on my 3rd attempt in less than a minute, getting the can ensconsced in the proper niche, then WHAMMO! 100% Total Destruction with 2 stone blocks and 1 wood plank remaining.

By now, a reasonable person would be wondering how such a scenario could occur in utter and complete defiance of the laws of physics, not to mention common sense? I don’t know for sure, but, in closing, I’ll say this: it will be quite the relief to no longer curse this level to the lowest level of Dante’s inferno!

By indie_guy

This is absurd. Why does Rovio do this to curtain levels, but on other levels they allow 10 pieces to be left over. No one wants to play this stupid thing 100 times and still not be able to get the feather.

Watch your language. Your post has been edited to clean it up.

Some debris may fall off the screen and you just don’t know that it happened. 100% doesn’t mean that all of the blocks are broken. It means that you have broken enough blocks to pass the limit for total destruction. Also, some people like the challenge of the mighty eagle.

By indie_guy

I’m all for a challenge. But this mighty eagle system is so inconsistent. I leave one block untouched and it gives me 100%, for they particular level. On some levels i can leave half of the level untouched and unbroken and i still get 100%. For example, Rio mighty eagle is so easy and fun. I just throw out the tuna and i get 100%. But for the seasons, it seems they want you to spend more time on it.

It is not a matter of inconsistency at all. Any given level is consistent — there is a predetermined amount of damage which corresponds to Total Destruction.

I am certainly not an expert, but such have been my observations: 1)yes, each level has a predetermined amount of damage required for TD, 2)the majority of levels are easy to get TD, 3)Rovio makes certain “random” levels extra difficult to get TD, 4)damage is sometimes counted by number of pieces destroyed, but sometimes 5) TD requires a specific placement of the sardines to get TD. In other words, sometimes it isn’t how MUCH is destroyed, as much as HOW it is destroyed. This level is one such example. I literally destroyed every single piece (stone, wood, shamrock and shrub) and still only got 97%. And no, nothing went off screen. But placing the can exactly like the video: 100% first try, with all the shrubs remaining.
That’s all part of what makes this game so fun and addictive.

Totally dont understand or like seeing people giving. Slim a hard time. He’s here to help.try playing it alone or not at all then.wonderfull game and the challenge is in all popular games.

By Birds The Word

Just went in and got total destruction first time… Works just fine

By Carol

Yes, it does – within just a few tries.
Thanks for the help!

I have to agree that there is a lot of inconsistency with the Mighty Eagle. This is really not a level that a lot of sticks get thrown off screen. I know one game I cleared every single stick and block and still only received 98%.

By fossmin

And to add to this, when I finally got the feather on this level there was one block and two sticks on the board. I have cleared everything several times except for one stick and didn’t get the feather then.

The counter is run by a computer. Kind of hard for it to cheat.

By fossmin

Not saying the computer cheats, but something isn’t right.

Keep in mind that not all objects are valued equally. For example, stone (especially boulders) are very difficult to destroy, so their are valued higher with respect to Total Destruction.

Also, all those tufts of grass count toward Total Destruction, since destroying them with birds would yield points.

By fossmin

Thanks for the replies. Do you know for a fact that the Mighty Eagle calculates points to clear a level 100% or is it number of pieces destroyed?

Thanks

I have never had confirmation from Rovio, but that has been my (many many many) experiences.

This level was great, a lot of fun and provided a challenge. Before watching the video I came to the same strategy but did not get 100%. After watching the video I still did not get 100%. I flung that can at least 50 times and had it come to rest in the same spot as in the video and still did not 100%. I wrote down every combination of 7 or less remaining debris pieces and the percentages produced for each of the 50 flings. I kept adjusting the launch angle and still did not get the 100%
But then, it happened, AB’s magic: rise the launch angle a tiny bit, watch where the can hits on the upper part of the vertical wood plank, and observe the outcome = 1 stone triangle and 1 wood triangle = 100%. Wow what a feeling of accomplishment for a fun activity.

i managed to easily get TD by the following:

1) yellow bird takes out 2 top wooden pieces
2) white bird drops egg on furthermost triangle
3) boomerang to get debris at rear
4) yellow & white to clean any remaining debris at the rear

The aim is to take out the rear without the structure falling, and the pig in the square remaining in position its in at the start.

Fire the sardine can in same place as video, with a bit of luck the impact of sardine can will make structure start to fall as mighty eagle comes in.

By Alderbaran

Thankyou. I used your method then the video above and got 100%.
