I’m feeling confused…I received a notification on a post by Kathy & Slim, from the 19th. When I click on it in my e-mail it took me here, as you can see there are no posts from the 19 th. I have navigated around trying to find it, the closes I have come is the leaderboard home page. However her question is not there either, or Slims response to her. I feel like I am losing an opportunity to be helpful. By the way, I think you should make Kathy the honorary Birds Nest Mama. :)

I have been trying to get higher than rank #100 scores for each of the 42 levels in Episode 2 (Mighty Hoax), and finally got there recently. In the process got to approach the two of you in overall score. Yesterday I finally solved 4-8 with one bird and passed both of you. This is how I did it to get 82,380. Aim the white bird high so it falls into the gap to the right of where the left-side TNT is at the bottom, then release the egg bomb just before the bird touches the right side of the wall (must be down into the gap between the two towers so that the white bird recoils to the right and the center tower topples). This can be done once in many tries with good aim and a bit of luck in timing the release of the egg bomb. But the real luck comes in getting the center tower not only to topple to the right but also to explode the right-side TNT, which is what I finally did yesterday — perhaps the 20th time that I toppled the center tower, so you can understand that it may take a long time. Good luck. Sooner or later both of you will regain your #1 / #2 ranks because I am moving on to another Episode.

You gett. 5 points for visiting the site daily…if you just stay signed in you will. get 5 pts every 24 hours… also get 5. Pts for each new comment on a page..such as walkthrough pages..but only the first comment on any given page counts and it has to pertain to the game..no random comments (considered spamming) will not be counted, may be deleted and you don’t want to make slim mad lol. This is a great site everyone here is helpfull , if you neeld any help just post and someone will help. Gl:)
Today, when I turned on my computer, my App Store icon showed that I had two updates, one adding Year of the Dragon to Seasons and the other a technical update for ABO which was nearly as large. I don’t know what it did, but it didn’t do what I wanted: eliminate the hypersentive touch pad problem that the last update created! Rovio’s staff created these games, why can’t they fix such a small problem? Argh!!
I had the same thing, somewhat but on my android I don’t know what that ABO update did but ii saw no diference, and I agree they should be able to just fix it…
I noticed that for example in 18-3, they seemed to have removed one cake on top of the structure. I was thinking there used to be two. That would take away 3,000 possible points. Not sure why this was removed. Anybody else notice anything similar?
There are 2 cakes on top for me and I haven’t updated. Strange thing to change!

That is odd. I have one cake sitting on top of the structure. I can post a screen print later today if there would be a lot of inconsistency. I have AB HD on iPad, which one do you have?
I haven’t commented on this yet, but it is actually far less significant than one may think.
1) iPad has received the 2.0.2 update (as had Mac PC and Nokia) but not elsewhere, thus te discrepancy.
2) In 18-3, the brown cake was not worth 3,000 points for some reason. Try bombing just those two cakes; it yields about 5k.
So for you, it’s gone as well from HD?
same here, the top right cake was removed after the update, on iPad. but not on mac.
I use a Mac, and although the cake with the brown frosting is still there and shows 3000 points when you hit it, Slim is right: you actually seem to only get 1000. That’s still an extra 1000 with no reason for the difference that I know of.
Rovio seems to be keeping track of the average scores. The score addict point requirements are very close to the total of the average scores for each episode.
How does Rovio know in advance what the average will be?
It could also be that the average player on here gets to score addict and then doesnt go further, meaning the averages here are similar to the score addict scores :)
Do the Facebook levels add to the world 14 score?
I don’t think so, since I don’t think they are part of World 14. They are sort of supplemented on their own.
A few days ago I reported this bug under the “Bugs and Glitches”.
Last time the 3 Facebook levels after World 14 in ABO were added to the “World 14 Total Score” in “Crystal”. This is also the case for “Game Center” if you check the “All Time” leaderboard (there’re 3 categories “Today”, “This Week” and “All Time” in “Game Center”). The problem is that both these don’t update their scores currently.
For the “Today” and “This Week” versions in “Game Center” for “World 14 Total Score”, the scores can get updated but they don’t count the 3 Facebook levels.
So far I’ve only seen this “score update” bug occur for the “World 14 Total Score” in both “Crystal” and “Game Center”.

Something is odd as I am 5000th in episode 5 but 690000 in world 14 , the maths do not add up.
I suffered the fb glitch and put it down to that, if you add my fb scores I am around 10000th in world 14 which makes more sense.
Happy to add my scores on here but wanted it to be correct first and finish ep 7.

Im going to find another user and see if I can find them on here and compare W14 to here, i think Facbooks are added as I am 50,000th for all worlds just not this one and score is about the same feel. Not 650,000th!

Players are released constantly. There’s a roster cap for the Super Bowl. Chad 85 was inactive last week, so maybe he will play in lue of Underwood.
BTW, Underwood would still receive a ring if the Patriots win.

I know, but during Super Bowl weekend, less than 24 hours before the game? It’s low, regardless of whether it’s a business. Any player wants to make it there some time, so to cut somebody this close to the line is a bit over the top. I realize you both a Pats fans, but even if my team did this, I would find it low.

Welcome bastieroxxor, amazing scores, congrats. I asked this in the forum but now you’re here I can ask in person. Do you know of any others with higher totals who you believe to be legit? It’s so hard to know who the official number 1 is or the WR score given all the hackers on GameCentre.
We all agree that it’s impossible to reach 31 millions.
On Crystal, it concerns 4 players who are between me and 31 millions. It’s easy to see that they hacked AB.
On Gamecenter, it concerns 9 players. 3 of them are those on Crystal and the others doesn’t appear in the top 100 of the episodes 5,6 and 7…
So, I don’t know another player with an higher total score than me.
@bastieroxxor — How about some general tips / tricks for getting really high scores? A lot of us AB addicts on this site are not experienced computer gamers; so feel free to insult us (me at least) with some real basics. To start with, I can’t believe you can get record high scores using an IPhone (as you do) without some accessory hardware, like maybe displaying image on a large monitor??
I can get high scores on my iPhone just fine (when I’m lucky)! It’s possible that it might be harder to do… I don’t know… But I don’t use any fancy add ons! ;)

The iPhone is a very good platform because you can play anywhere and there is no disturbing advertising on the screen (Android).
I don’t know if there is a special place on this website to talk about tips, but if you have a specific question for any level, I’ll respond with pleasure.
First you have to find the good strategy (youtube, why not), then to persevere and be lucky sometimes!

I am really impressed that you don’t use anything special (also disappointed, since I was hoping for a magic pill). I started playing AB on IPhone, but switched to IPad, because the little screen strained my eyes. I do read the walktrhoughs, sometimes over and over, but still have difficulty scoring much above average.
On Rio Smugglers Plane 11-13 I can’t even get close to average, despite trying everything suggested. A new strategy, greater detail, or a video might help. Thanks.

There are also ad-free for android which is what I have…but I don’t think I can get my scores as high as other platforms…
I think you should rename all the “World Total Score” as “Episode Total Score”. In either “Crystal” or “Game Center” for the iOS platform, “Episode” and “World” mean different things. ABO now has 7 Episodes and 18 Worlds.
We have used the words Episode/World interchangeably for a while, and calling the sets within “Chapters”. But maybe we will switch to “Episode Total Score” since we say episode more frequently.

I used to get called out all the time by a user called Jeanpaul2000, but I have not seen him around in the top 100 since Birdday Party. That’s what is fun about this site though, users challenging others. I used to be the number one in Mine and Dine for months, until Vaporizer offered some challenge. I finally took some distance in points, but recently lost my spot to some of our other top 10 players. It’s hard though to keep finding time to defend your position while also trying to improve other levels. I need to improve my other episodes now first.

I think Wrasheed meant that his/her score is about 50,000, and in terms of math that can mean 45,000 to 54,999. BTW 50,000 is possible but very hard(I used 2 birds for a score of 19,000. If I had don that with one bird,it would have given me 49,000).

Wow! and I thought the single-level walkthroughs were just edits of the old multi-level ones. Are they all new? If so, that’s an incredible amount of work. On the bright side, it’s good prep for AB Facebook (which is what I’ve spent most of the morning doing).

I wanted to note that while it’s cool that th walkthroughs for the early levels are now individual, it’s too bad some of he old comments are gone. Some walkthroughs used to have comments, now there is sometimes nothing. And it’s rare for some of the incredible top scorers to comments. I know Manu likes to share, but on some scores I remain so far off and any strategy does not provide improvements. I believe I am a reasonably good player, but on some levels I just don’t see how more is possible, unless I has to be a pure luck shot.
The old walkthrough pages are still there. Check the last page or two of the particular episode you want. New comments have been disabled, but the only comments are still there.

Look at 3-19 for example. I think my score is high, yet I’m close to 20k off. There was hardly anything left to destruct, so then it comes down to birds used. There used to be comments if I remember well, now there is nothing.
Like I said, those pages still exist. Check page 6 and page 7 of the Poached Eggs walkthroughs, for example.

Can you look into r3d3vil23′s scores. Only a small number of scores entered, but 5 high scores, some 10k to 20k over previous highs. If it’s legit, no problem, but should be verified in my mind.
I see over 150 scores entered, but I agree the top scores seem a bit off. I can’t handle this right now, but will try to in a few hours.
No problem, trying to improve my poached eggs scores, causing me to notice these as they stand out.
OK, out of Complex Analysis now. So I’m going to write that user an email notifying him that these caught our eye. I’ll remove the scores for now and see what s/he has to say.
I see your point, but occasionally the weird does happen. I’m fairly new to AB and only joined the site a short while ago. I am way down in the standings and at the time it happened, I was far, far down. As I was entering my scores for the first time, I was shocked to discover that 18-8 was the new high score. None of my other levels was anywhere near the top score.
But it was true! I don’t know how it happened, I have no idea. I play exclusively on my iPhone. Personally I think that whenever a new high score is posted, the site should require an accompanying screenshot, at the least.

I looked it up and I commented on my anomalous #1 on 18-8 on January 25, saying that I had only joined up the day before.
You get 5 points daily if you are logged in, that’s probably how you got deputized..also 5 points for each new comment per page(exept forum)…enjoy! !:)
Yes, but when a random player gets a top score on this site, it shouldn’t exceed the previous score by 20,000. Frankly, we have too many good players for the gap to be that large.

What about the Facebook scores with the power-ups?
You can not enter scores used with power-ups. Who knows? There maybe could be a leaderboard for power-ups.

I’m not planning to play the Facebook version, I generally don’t do games on facebook as the games get way too invasive. There is no need for games to have the amount of information they request, I’m not doing that too my friends and family who don’t play, not fair. I just hope those folks are not going to come in here and soil the Leaderboards.
For the most part I think it’s catering to a different type of player, so I’m not too worried about our boards.

Thanks. This website is great in knowing what is possible and with the various people constantly pushing you to keep up. I used to think the over 30m scores were fake but now better. I just takes losing sleep and a higher golf handicap to persevere through some of these levels ( not to mention some lucky shots ).

i finished putting my scores on poached egg level 1 – 1 – 21. i found out that my scores are low… i have to played it again so that i will compete here hehehe…. with the help of walkthroughs i bet will do this… hehehe….
Don’t worry dude, most of my scores were average to below average. Just keep slinging dude.
Whilst not wishing to denigrate any one person’s high scores on Poached Eggs or indeed Mighty Hoax and Danger Above I would make the following observations.(This is not sour grapes!).
These levels have been widely “cracked” in the early days of Angry Birds. On “Crystal” (Rovio’s high score site) this is obvious, as all the top scores for these episodes are impossibly high. I have a rule of thumb which may or may not be correct. It is to look, not just at a high score, but also at what “achievements” the person has. Invariably they will all be low. Using this rule of thumb, on Crystal; UK high scores; the first credible scores for Poached Eggs are at ranking 81st, (4457400), 82nd, (4437240) and 83rd, (4432060). On Crystal, I have a global ranking of 82 and a UK ranking of 8th with a total score of 29319460. This is out of tens millions of scores! Strange that I can only achieve 21st on the AngryBirdsNest board, out of maybe 3000 users!
There is a lot of good people on here from every platform, as these leaderboards are not exclusive to iOS, like GC/Crystal are. This means there are really good PC/Android/Nokia etc players on here that mean a high rank on an iOS device doesn’t always correspond to as high a rank on here. Also, there’s a higher proportion of top players here, as it is only the more serious people who register and enter every score on these leaderboards. :)
And in addition to that, think about the reason why people enter their scores here on ABN. Me personnally, I only eneter scores once I got 3 stars, to compare my score to others and eventually improve my scores (in order to get a score addict achievement).
I would never enter any 1-star-score here. What for? But in Game Center you have all scores of all people who are registered there. So there are also scores of people who only have 1 or 2 stars in a level.
I don’t doubt that cross-platform scores may differ, but if they do, to such an extent, then there’s really no pont me, or anyone else, trying on an iphone, to better those achieved on so called superior platforms! I’ll leave it to you guys to consider if you really believe that! Bastieroxxor is quite rightly 28th in the world on the Crystal scoring, presumably on an i platform.
The claim is not that platforms differ. The claim is that your rank is lower because more platforms play here, instead of ONLY iOS users with Crystal.
i don’t think there’s any difference between iOS, Android and PC, either than perhaps ease of pulling back the slingshot on a larger platform. There are a few subtle differences on FB and Chrome I believe. The biggest cross-platform difference is Chrome SG, but those sores aren’t allowed on here anyway! :)
I am a firm believer in differences between platforms affecting your scores. After all, that is why I stopped playing AB on IPhone (screen too small) and Mac (much harder to control trajectory, at least for me), and now prefer to play on IPad. Still looking for improvements in pixel resolution both for viewing and control of trajectory. However, I’m willing to compete with people using other platforms (as long as there isn’t something blatantly different). I play golf with people using different clubs, and I believe even more strongly that club and ball technology affect your golf score.
I think it all depends on what platform you are used to. Moonsabre plays exclusively on iphone and I think most of us will agree he is one of the best players in the world. I think Manu also started on iphone but might be playing on ipad now. The really good players are likely to do well regardless of the platform…
I dont know where I rank worldwide, just know where I am here. I often find however that some chrome users claim its easier to reach high scores. I have two scores on chrome in PE higher compared to my iPad, and never been able to reach them on the ipad using the same strategy. I only use iOS scores here however, as they match up like this in game center.
Is it ok to enter scores achieved on different platforms? I have just discovered the Chrome Version of AB and have some scores on it which are significantly higher than those I can obtain on iPhone version.
What sense would that make?
ABN should have different leaderboards for different platforms, so that one person can enter more than one score for the same level on different devices.
If you are entering for Seasons Greedings Chrome , noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. You may enter any other world but seasons greedings for chrome.
I am confused here…the only place I play is on my PC, in Chrome. Is this thread saying that I can’t enter my scores here?
If you play in Chrome, you may enter scores for Poached Eggs, Mighty Hoax, and Danger Above. You may not enter scores for Season’s Greedings or Cherry Blossom due to discrepancies.

A the moment, ABN kindly requests that computer based scores be entered ( ios, android, pc mac etc .. ) on the LB.
There is no Leader Board for web based AB ( chrome, pistachio etc … ). Maybe sometime in the future, but it’s not on the admins top priority.
@chris that topic was discussed many times by Birdleader and Slim. It takes a fair amount of time to setup a leaderboard. There is only 24h in a day.
I thought people were entering chrome scores here already as there are users who in he past have claimed it was easier to achieve high scores, yet they were not told they cold not enter them. I think one user even created a user named CHROME to show his chrome scores versus his regular scores.

@sal9: It seems to be quite fast to create a new leaderboard. You will see, a few hours after the realease of the new game Angry Birds Space, the leaderboard will be online.
I think we’re talking about a fewdifferent things here. First, assuming there are no issues, the AB Space board will definitely go live right away. Chrome scores are okay, but not Chrome Seasons Greedings, as some levels differ. We don’t have boards for the other web versions, so those should definitely not be entered. Lastly, everyone should definitely select their primary platform in their profile. In time we will display and/or use this on the boards.
Thanks for the clarification. I think separating scores by platform would get messy, and it’s still nice to know how you rank compared to all members of this site. I think fakes are a much bigger issue compared to platform differences.
But if I read steviep147 correctly he means he wants to enter his iPhone scores, but combined with chrome scores for those levels in which he scores higher on chrome. IMO that is unacceptable.
i don’t know, it would mean that your score on here wouldn’t match the score on your device, but theoretically the levels are the same (excluding SG) so it shouldn’t be a problem. Personally I don’t enter my chrome scores (of which I have a couple of better ones because then the scores wouldn’t match, but I would like to think I could if I wanted to.
We don’t recommend mixing-and-matching scores, simply because it is difficult for the user to determine if a mistake has been made. But in general, they still obtained the score, so I suppose it’s legit.
I have some chrome PE scores which are higher compared to what I have been able to achieve on the iPad. Same strategy, just can’t reach the same scores. But I only enter my iPad scores here, so they match GC and my scores can be verified by the admins. I guess I agree people should not mix. One can always create multiple users, one for each platform, and compete against themselves as well as others on the board.

Well, on Android you dont have an equivalent of Game Center, where your scores are automatically uploaded and updated. In such case it’s harded to verify your scores for the admins besides screen shots, and mixing them with scores fom other platforms would not stand out noticeably.
I agree with Vaporizer. If you want to compete you should be consistent with your format. If someone wants to enter Chrome scores then do it under another user account with the Chrome platform listed as primary.. That would help explain the differences between the different platforms.
I would say that you should not enter the FaceBook versions of Surf and Turf here. I don’t know if the FB version is Chrome, but I have found that the scores are a bit higher via the FB version. Enter the FB scores under the ABN section for Facebook.

there have been many discussions here about scores on Chrome versus other platforms. How significant are the differences for you? Can you give some examples of gaps, just out of curiosity?
There are many differences, the most significant in Seasons Greedings.
Seasons Greedings scores however do not count according to the admins, so I was more curious on how big his iphone scores to Chrome scores are for the allowed levels. For example on poached eggs x-x, I had y on iphone and z on Chrome. I have some which are 1000 to 2000 more, which sometimes are significant in PE, so I’m just curious how much better his Chrome scores really are.
