What is value/difference of using Eagle to get feathers?

Ive played several AB versions over time but never really understood the difference or real objective of using Mighty-Eagle other than being stumped on a given level..whats the objective/advantage of going for the feather (w/is never 100%?) over stars since u seemingly dont get a completed 3 star level?

@alan-leon-wautier It’s like a new game-mode you could say. Getting 100% percent isn’t all that easy and is actually quit rewarding once you do. Other then that I guess there’s no real reason to do it expect for Rio which has bonus levels unlocked by collecting feathers.

@alan-leon-wautier — It’s an entirely new game to collect feathers (100%) destruction on all levels. I have almost all, but not quite. Some are easy; some are extremely difficult.
