What happened to the Varient Squad?

I normally don’t use the variant squad very often, despite them having a built in coin doubler. But when I recently used GBG and UM I noticed that their automatic bonus had been lowered to +50%. When and why was this lowered, as well as the squad bonus and home screen coins?

I think this happened when crates were introduced.

And as to why: because Rovio/Exient can and will do what they want.

Yeah, this bonus reduction from variant TFs really pissed me off. When I was starting to promote TFs, I chose to promote EG. But, since it was a new game account. I needed coins too. So, I stopped promoting EG at 35% and went with GBG instead. I knew EG was better in events, so I had to use gems for more recharges with GBG. I thought it was a trade off I needed to make for 100% more coins from my runs.

 

Now, that they reduced the bonus to 50%. I wished my EG was promoted to 140%, instead of GBG. I have my GBG at 31% extra damage with his brain accessory, but EG with 10% more damage does far more damage. If you need to promote one grimlock, pick EG!
