Undocumented 1.2.1 changes: Apprentice got a new hat, and more

I had turned away from the iPad upon finishing wave 2 of King Pig’s Castle, then when I turned back…

(For reference, the Apprentice used to have no hat and wield a plain stick, just like the Stick Pig.)

Let’s expand the scope of this thread – post here about all “minor” changes you might notice in the new version.

• Apprentice in King Pig’s Castle wave 3 has a new hat and wand.
• The Spies’ “Glee” effect now applies healing at the end of your turn, rather than at the beginning of your next turn.
• Chronicle Cave levels no longer have a “reset” button in the pause menu.(reference post)
• Ninja pigs in the Volcano Island dungeon have an increased Dodge threshold. (reference post)
• The effects of Rogues’ Cupcake Trap and Cactus Knight’s Reflect abilities are invisible.

I noticed the hat, but just thought maybe I hadn’t remembered. Is this possibly the realization of the last missing hint for 2014? He looks a little like someone celebrating New Year’s.

@mvnla2 “Missing hint for 2014”? I hadn’t heard of anything like that, did Rovio tease it on Twitter or something? (I don’t pay attention to Twitter much.)

Also, while doing my friends rotation (to give them all an essence), I noticed something different about the Spies. Previously, their “Glee” skill would heal the affected bird at the beginning of your turn based on the damage you dealt last turn. Now, it heals at the end of your turn, which makes a lot more sense.

@dr_ishmael — I can’t find it right now, but in late 2013 or early 2014, there were a bunch (5?) of hints about what Rovio had planned for AB in 2014. These hints included Epic, Stella, and I don’t remember what else. They all were identified except for the last. But now that I think more about it, it was probably a bird in a New Year’s hat.

@dr_ishmael–Yes, exactly! I think the only un-idetified image is the first one. Somewhere on ABN there are photos of each of the images and what they eventually meant.

Yeah, the others are Stella, Epic, and Transformers. The first one looks sort of like Bomb’s Short Fuse icon from ABO, except with Chuck.

Rogue’s cupcake trap doesn’t show a ring of thorns around the target anymore.

Cactus pigs’ reflect also doesn’t show the ring of thorns. Makes it difficult to tell if it has been set or is still active. OK, I know you can click on the pig to find out what spells are on him, but it sure was a lot easier when it was obvious.
