  • So I started this weeks arena pretty well, 8 AM I’m first with about 7000 points. 3 PM I’m second and the person on first place has 78230 points…. 7 hours 78000+ points, more than 11000 per hour. How is this even possible ( except if that person doesn’t reset the daily missions or just write down the points you want ).
    Here is a link to the leader board view.

    THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! How even?

    Report it to Rovio

    It is possible to get around 11,000 points per hour if you shut off the network connection to your device and let the game generate teams to fight. Those teams are not nearly as difficult to defeat so you can run through battles in a hurry. So, assuming you get around 200 points per match, you would have to fight 55 matches in an hour to get 11,000 points. So it’s doable, barely, and that score in and of itself is not proof of cheating (in the sense the score has been manipulated directly).

    Whether or not you consider playing Arena with no network cheating or not is a matter of taste, in my opinion. However, it is not cheating in the context of doing something to artificially manipulate your score or team of birds. You still have to spend 7 hours playing match after match after match. If you find someone like that, better to just say “get em next week.”

    Still better than this one.

    I just reported him to Rovio, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for something to happen… thanks God I’m in Diamond already so I couldn’t care less, but still, it’s shameful stuff like this keeps happening every week.

    I have reported it earlyer and no reply ( except the automatic one ). Last time I reported something to rovio support it took them nearly 2 weeks to answer.

    @ryogokusama
    yep yours is definetly better.

    It is very obvious that the person that got 78,000 points in less than a day is cheating.

    It is possible to get 12,000 points in less than 10 min if you wait till the last few minutes to complete all the objectives on one day, then quickly complete the next day’s objectives, but you obviously can’t sustain that rate.

    @jamairoqui
    What device/OS are you using because my game requires an Internet connection or it won’t work? I can’t even start a battle. If I do something like put my phone in airplane mode, it will make me go to the settings and take it off airplane mode if I want to continue the game.

    Turning off your network connection to gain advantages is clearly cheating, but it is trivial compared to those who use a tool to hack their scores or give themselves ridiculous amounts of LC to buy everything.

    @jamairoqui Be careful handing out that tip right in the open forum. The more used and widespread it becomes the bigger the chance that Rovio will “fix” it.

    Well if I lose my internet connection ( turn it off or just because of coverage ) I also cant fo anything. Only “Reconect” button appears and blocks the game.

    Same for as others in this thread. Can’t play the game unless connected to internet. How do you get around that?

    Jamairoqui
    @jamairoqui

    Like I said, whether you define it as cheating or not is a matter of taste. In my opinion, if the game lets you do something without you having to modify the code or get some other external program involved, then it’s not cheating.

    For example, there are some here who are fairly proud that they ran up their stores of stamina drinks and so forth in the Christmas 2014 special event where the presents were broken. It wasn’t what was intended by the programmers, and people who figured it out took advantage of it. But it wasn’t cheating in my opinion. The situation is the same as when, in the “good old days,” you could reset the time zone and get a new golden pig every hour. It wasn’t like people were hacking the game to make it do that, they were taking advantage of something the game mistakenly allowed.

    I’m not sure that people are running up scores of 60,000+ in a few hours are playing with their network connection off or not (or even if it’s possible anymore, my iPad doesn’t allow me to), I’m just saying that in the “good old days” if you ran the game without the network connection, it was possible to get over 10,000 points in an hour. So a score of 60,000 is not necessarily a confirmation of cheating (in the sense someone is directly modifying their scores). It might, however, be a sign of mental illness since it means that someone thinks “winning” the Arena is important enough to either actually cheat (modify their score) or sit there for hours on end and cycle through a battle every minute with the network connection off.

    Seeing as you’re 1st on my leaderboard. Am I right to assume you’re on the verge of being mentally ill? :P

    Jamairoqui
    @jamairoqui

    Well … on the one hand, I didn’t spend hours grinding away with no internet connection to get 50,000 points on Day 1, so maybe I’m not mentally ill. On the other hand, I did spend an hour or so cycling through match after match until I got the few that *weren’t* Valiant set, so maybe I am.

    First place won’t last for me. This looks like an active league this week. I’m just trying to stay in Diamond until the next 5x day so I can maybe score a Valiant banner. Then I can be part of the problem everyone complains about. :-)
